Abstract

The aim of the study is to identify the methods of meaning generation in small genre texts. The story of the German writer E. Strittmatter “Die kleinen Schiffe” (“The Little Ships”) from the book “Schulzenhofer Kramkalender” (“Schulzenhof Calendar of All Sorts”) was taken as research material. The scientific novelty lies in the construction of linear and vertical syntagmemes in order to identify the methods of meaning generation using the fundamental principles of the morphothemic analysis of a small genre text in the course of the study, in line with which the methods of meaning generation are considered. As a result, it has been found that meanings are generated not only by direct contact of words in a sentence, but also by distant interpropositional interaction.
