Abstract

The aim of the study is to identify the main frames in the US administration’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The article reveals the content of the notions of frame and framing and pre-sents the results of a quantitative and qualitative content analysis of the material selected for the study. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the research of the generic frames used by the officials and mem-bers of the US coronavirus task force in response to the pandemic based on the analysis of the lexeme fre-quency. As a result, it has been revealed that the main frames in the studied material are “medicine/ science”, “human interests”, “hope”, “ethnicisation”, “economic consequences” and “conflict”.
