Abstract

The article focuses on the formation of non-linguistic students’ foreign-language educational and cognitive competence. The definition of the competence is provided, and its components are identified. The importance of the development of non-linguistic students’foreign-language educational and cognitive competence is highlighted due to the promotion of lifelong learning. The possibility of using the lexical approach to form the competence is considered.
