Abstract

The article describes the interaction and the ratio of civic engagement and public administration in the field of information security of children. To this end, the content of the annual reports of the Commissioner for Children’s Rights under the President of the Russian Federation for the period from 2019 to 2022 is examined. Based on the recommendations and suggestions outlined in these annual reports, the dynamics of the Commissioner’s submissions on children’s information security issues are investigated. Statistics on appeals to the Commissioner regarding children’s information security are analyzed as indicators of emerging trends in the expansion of information risks concerning their health and development. A conclusion is drawn regarding the demand for the institution of the Commissioner for Children’s Rights, the significance of social information received by the Commissioner in the form of appeals regarding children’s information security. By addressing these challenges and advocating for the rights of children, the Children’s Ombudsman contributes to the promotion of a safer and more secure environment for children’s health and development.
