During 2002–2010 expeditions to the southern tundra of Yamalo-Gydan region of the Western Siberian Arctic, moss herbarium was collected by researchers from Tyumen State University, Institute of Plant and Animal Ecology of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and “TyumenNIIgiprogaz”. 9 species new for the territory were identified: Bryum intermedium (Brid.) Turton, Callicladium haldanianum (Grev.) H. A. Crum, Entodon concinnus (De Not.) Paris, Didymodon rigidulus Hedw., Rhizomnium punctatum (Hedw.) T. J. Kop., Sphagnum cuspidatum Ehrh. ex Hoffm., Stereodon pallescens (Hedw.) Mitt., Tetraphis pellucida Hedw., Timmia megapolitana Hedw. The following characteristics are indicated for each species: herbarium label, growth substrate, growth condition, geographical coordinates of the location, general distribution throughout Russia, including Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. New locations of most of these species expand northern boundary of habitat area in the Tyumen region.
