Abstract

Key features of rituals aimed at providing stability in the household are identified based on synthesis and analysis of field materials on traditional ritual practices among the Komi living in Western Siberia, Omsk and Tyumen regions, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug - Yugra and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. The authors identify the factors which cause changes and transformation of the traditional principles of magical ritual practices aimed at maintaining “ideal” traditional economic activity.
