Abstract
The aim of the study is to identify the conditions for the effective functioning of the research-to-practice conference as a form of academic research work organization for linguistically gifted school students. The results of the analysis of the literature on the research problem allowed the authors to summarize and clarify the notions of “giftedness”, “linguistic giftedness of school students”, “academic research work of school students”. The scientific novelty of the study lies in summarizing and clarifying the features of functioning of linguistic research-to-practice conferences of school students (by the example of the Republic of Tatarstan), in formulating the conditions for improving the quality of academic research work organization for linguistically gifted students. The results of the study are as follows: based on the authors’ long-term experience as scientific advisers and members of the jury of the “Foreign Languages” sections of annual research-to-practice conferences for school students at higher and secondary education institutions of the Republic of Tatarstan, the authors present recommendations for ensuring high quality of performance and defense of academic research works in linguistics. The authors come to the following conclusion: provided that the conditions of its functioning set out in the paper are met, the research-to-practice conference is an effective form of organizing academic research work for linguistically gifted students.
