Abstract

The article describes and analyzes modern changes and trends in Ukrainian recreation and tourism. The directions and factors of the territorial development at the current stage are systematized. The main purpose of the article is to study the modern state of Ukrainian recreational and touristic sphere, to reveal its role in ensuring human development and to provide practical recommendations regarding the modernization. The research was conducted using general scientific methods and approaches. Statistical data analysis shows that Ukraine has sufficient potential for the recreational-touristic sphere development, but it is developing slowly due to the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. The main problems are: decrease of tourist flows, the reduction in recreational facilities, general socio-economic instability, practically no investment activity, etc. The world’s experience of organizing the recreational and touristic process in the conditions of war was studied. An analysis of the current state of recreational and tourist activity in Ukraine was conducted. It was determined that the economy will remain under the influence of modern challenges for some time. The key direction of modernization at the current stage is the development of non-standard tourism types. These will be places of military glory and human tragedies. Such tours are considered by various specialists to be "gloomy", "black", "dark", and sometimes to the field of military tourism. The prospects for the development of the post-war recovery of the sphere of recreational and tourist activity in Ukraine are outlined. To accelerate the recreation and tourism sphere recovery after the war and increase its effectiveness Ukraine should have: international organizations support, development and implementation of various programs and projects, restoration of affected regions with investments, etc. Promotion of the recreation and tourism development will lead to the country's population recovery, increasing revenues to the state and regional budgets and also to popularization of the Ukrainian brand in the world.
