Abstract

This paper presents the results of a study of the effectiveness of a new complex iodine-containing drug on an experimental model of hypothyroidism developed by the authors in laboratory rats. A special diet for laboratory rats with a minimum iodine content has been developed, which allows, in combination with the use of Mercazolil, to create an experimental model of hypothyroidism. Using the developed diet, an experimental model of hypothyroidism was obtained, which best corresponds to hypothyroidism in endemic zones. It has been established that the use of a new complex iodine-containing drug promotes the complete recovery of laboratory rats with experimental hypothyroidism, restoring the content of thyroid hormones in the blood and promoting the restoration of the morphology of the thyroid gland.
