Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze how the perception of judgment on robot umpires affects the psychological state and performance of players in Korean professional baseball. In addition, through in-depth interviews with experts, a plan for robot umpires to settle in the KBO League was suggested. As a result of the study on the first stage, consistency, reliability, and fairness among the factors of robot umpire judgment recognition were found to have a positive (+) effect on the players' psychological state. However, quickness had no significant effect on the players' psychological state. Also, among the factors of robot umpire judgment recognition, fairness was found to have a positive (+) effect on players' performance. However, consistency, reliability, and quickness had no significant effect on players' performance. Third, it was confirmed that the psychological state of the players according to the robot umpire's judgment recognition had a positive (+) effect on performance. In addition, As a result of the research on the second stage, 6 main-categories and 12 sub-categories were derived.
