Abstract

The structure of the Kyllakh thrust zone of the Verkhoyansk fold and thrust belt has been studied by seismic profiling. The construction of geoseismic sections refined the thickness of individual sedimentary complexes and the total thickness of the sedimentary cover, the structure of thrust sheets, and the position of detachments. Also, geoseismic sections were used to estimate the amount of the minimum slip of allochthons and to calculate compression coefficients for individual parts of the Kyllakh zone. The seismic and geological data were compared. A brief description is given of the sequence of geodynamic events that resulted in thrust folding in the region.
