Abstract
The article deals with the ideological-artistic and structural-compositional features of literary poetic riddles published in 1755-1759 in the magazine «Yezhemesyachnyye sochineniya, k pol'ze i uveseleniyu sluzhashchiye». It has been established that the authors' riddles reflect the trends of the Enlightenment and the ideological and aesthetic principles of classicism. Poetic texts are characterized not only by an entertaining function, but also by a didactic orientation, which can be traced both at the ideological and artistic, and at the structural and compositional levels. The features that distinguish literary poetic riddles from folklore ones are revealed.
