Abstract
The purpose — to study the structure of headaches in patients with connective tissue dysplasia (CTD). Material and methods. 100 patients of both sexes aged from 18 to 55 years old with clinical manifestations of CTD and headache were examined. The control group consisted of 30 patients with headache without CTD. Results. Patients with CTD have higher prevalence of chronic migraine, headache associated with temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJD). There is a trend towards a higher incidence of cervicogenic headache in combination with TMJD. Also, primary and secondary headaches in patients with CTD were accompanied by predominant blocking of the spinal motion segments of the cervical spine and the upper thoracic spine, against the background of instability and violation of the statics of the cervical spine. Also, a predominant localization of myofascial trigger points in the area of the trapezius and pericranial muscles was found. There is a trend towards higher scores on the central sensitization scale of patients with CTD.
