Abstract

The article deals with one of the scientific problems of the history of the Great Patriotic War, which is of interest not only for historians, but also for researchers in other humanities: the war events, military campaigns, living conditions of military service in the perception of female front-line soldiers. The study is devoted to the experience of women from Bashkiria who participated in the war, and is based on the sources of personal origin and periodicals. In the course of the study, the author took into account the specifics of various sources, the time and conditions of their occurrence. The author explores the ways of mobilizing women from the republic to the front, their participating in various branches of the military, in military campaigns and military operations. She studies the organization of women’s military service, their accommodation and living conditions, reveals objective and subjective factors that influenced their moral and psychological state in combat reality. Particular attention is focused on the reactions of women to extraordinary events, their relations with commanders and comrades, the peculiarities of their manifestation at various stages of the war, as well as the difficulties they had to face.
