Abstract
The current research aims to identify (the efficiency of cognitive representation and its relationship to resolving linguistic ambiguity among students of Arabic language departments in colleges of education). The research was limited to a sample of (100) male and female students from the fourth stage in the Arabic Language Department of the Colleges of Education at the Universities of Al-Qadisiya and Babylon for both genders (males and females), for the academic year (2023-2024). To achieve the objectives of the current research, the researchers adopted a measure of representation efficiency. The cognitive test prepared by (Ghanem, 2011), consisting of (46) items in a five-point progression. As for the test for resolving linguistic ambiguity, the researchers adopted the test (Al-Abdullah, 2019), as it consists of (30) multiple-choice items. The researchers verified the characteristics The psychometric validity and reliability of the two tools, and after analyzing the data, the following results showed: The sample has a good degree of knowledge representation efficiency, as the T-value was statistically significant The sample has a good degree of resolving linguistic ambiguity, as the T-value was statistically significant. - There is a significant positive correlation between the two variables.
