Abstract

The article analyzes the prerequisites for the implementation of the concept of "green economy" in the Altai Territory, evaluates the practical steps taken in this direction, and identifies constraints to its implementation. The structure of arable lands by the level of acidity and the level of humus in the region was evaluated; the structure of irrigated lands of agricultural organizations in the regions of the Altai Territory was analyzed; problems associated with the deterioration of the quality of agricultural land were identified. It is concluded that the "green economy" will become one of the ways to create areas without chronic rural poverty, since environmentally friendly products are much more expensive than conventional ones, and organic agriculture will increase farmers' incomes, which will eventually lead to the preservation and development of rural areas.
