Abstract

In conditions of growing economic instability, the problem of academic competency development, as an integral personal quality in students studying at higher educational institutions, is becoming increasingly relevant. The dynamically developing economic needs of the modern society impose new requirements on the university graduates, the compliance with which is realized through acquisition of appropriate competencies. One of them is “academic competence”, which is considered to be an integral personal quality, developed in the educational environment and represented by a dynamic state of its interrelated components (1. value-oriented 2. cognitive-communicative, 3. operational, 4. evaluative and reflexive), contributing to the development of the whole set of universal, general professional and professional competencies.
