Abstract

The article for the first time examines domestic historiography of cultural and mass work among the Japanese prisoners of war and their creative activity in the NKVD-MIA camps. The author analyses the domestic publications of the turn of the XX-XXI centuries describing the forms, trends, peculiarities and outcomes of cultural and mass work among Kwantung army prisoners and their creative activity during their stay in the Soviet Union. The historiographical analysis of the problem has allowed the author to identify the achievements and shortcomings of previous studies, to outline prospects for further research.
