Abstract

Abstract Despite the proven effectiveness of management practice, such a strategizing tool as a system of balanced indicators has not found proper application at the industry management level. Based on this, the article discusses the development and practical implementation of the balanced scorecard (BSC) in the process of strategic planning of socio-economic development of the region: clarifying the mission of socio-economic development of the region, determining growth prospects, selecting responsible structural units, setting strategic goals, building a strategic map, selecting key performance indicators and determining their target values, implementing cascading BSC, describing the mechanism for monitoring the implementation of the strategy. In conclusion, conclusions are drawn about the necessity and expediency of implementing this system in the process of strategic planning of the socio-economic development of the region.
