Abstract
The article explores the concept of “biometric personal data”. The provisions of the Federal Law “On Personal Data” are analyzed, on the basis of which the legal regulation of biometric personal data is carried out, the features of the collection, storage and further use of biometric personal data are revealed. The grounds are indicated that allow the collection of biometric personal data without the consent of the subject of personal data. Based on the analysis, types of biometric personal data are distinguished that are used to identify citizens.
