Abstract
Purpose. To conduct a comparative analysis of the position of intraocular lenses (IOL) in patients with transscleral fixation and in patients with artifacia in the conditions of silicone tamponade of the vitreal cavity. Material and methods. The studies were carried out on 64 eyes of patients aged 56 to 75 years with transscleral fixation and artifaction with silicone tamponade of the vitreal cavity. Results. In patients with transscleral fixation, the distance from the limb to the optical edge of the lens was equal to 4.31 ± 0.82 mm, in the group with articulation – 4.11 ± 1.03 mm. The absence of a statistically significant difference indicates the position of IOL when performing transscleral fixation identical to the location of the lens in the capsule bag. The indicator of the distance from the cornea to the edge of IOL in patients with transscleral fixation corresponded to 3.72 ± 1.54 mm, in patients with articulation corresponded to 3.21 ± 1.48 mm, while this indicator in the group with transscleral fixation was more variable. Conclusion. In the conditions of silicone tamponade of the vitreal cavity, the technique of transscleral fixation of IOL provides a single-format position of the lens with artificial patients.
