Entrepreneurship Training and Mentoring for Sportswear Production at the Branch Leadership of LPM SMA Muhammadiyah Program Khusus Sambi Boyolali

The entrepreneurship training and mentoring initiative at PR IPM SMA Muhammadiyah PK Sambi Boyolali focuses on equipping members with essential skills in sportswear production and micro-business management. This program encompasses training in production techniques, business operations, and marketing strategies. The process is carefully structured, beginning with a thorough needs assessment, followed by a well-planned two-month program, and culminating in the development of educational materials aligned with a specialized Sports Entrepreneurship curriculum. Participants successfully produced themed sports jerseys and casual t-shirts, and also established a promising business unit within PR IPM SMA Muh. PK Sambi Boyolali. With its emphasis on sustainability, this initiative is poised to serve as a robust model for entrepreneurship development among students and other Muhammadiyah youth groups. Ongoing evaluations and adaptive program strategies are integral to ensuring the continued success and longevity of this endeavor.

Population-level effects of Hurricane Sandy on adolescent health

BackgroundDisasters are increasing in frequency and intensity due to climate change. Youth are the largest and most vulnerable group exposed to disasters. More evidence is needed regarding how youth mental health and health behaviors vary based on disaster exposure, how mental health influences health behaviors, and how diverse groups of youth may be differentially affected. MethodsUsing data from the Youth Risk Behavior Survey and Federal Emergency Management Agency, we examined the impact of Hurricane Sandy (2012) on mental health (sadness, suicidality) and health behaviors (substance use, physical activity, screen time, sexual behaviors) of 240,365 youth. Difference-in-differences regression analyses evaluated pre-disaster (2005–2011) and post-disaster (2013–2019) changes. ResultsThere were 83,442 (34.7 %) adolescents (51.2 % female, 18.1 % non-Hispanic White) located in 6 districts exposed to Hurricane Sandy and 156,923 (65.3 %) adolescents located in 13 non-exposed districts. Exposure was associated with differences in substance use, physical (in)activity, and risky sexual behaviors, but not mental health outcomes. Mental health did not moderate the association between disaster exposure and health behaviors. Hispanic adolescents and those identifying as Other races/ethnicities were most vulnerable to post-disaster negative health outcomes. LimitationsStudy limitations include questionnaire design, cross-sectional data, sampling, and possible response biases. ConclusionsFindings provide critical information about youth mental health and health behaviors following disasters, as well as how youth may differ in their responses. Findings provide guidance for early identification and resource allocation for youth at higher risk for post-disaster health issues.

This article examines the features of the political identity of provincial youth based on socio-economic differentiation. It is noted that the youth environment is not homogeneous in its socio-economic status and such differentiation in the context of a Special Military Operation, an unstable political situation, and social tension presupposes a different political identity. In turn, this leads to destructive activity of young people in relation to government officials, as well as to intergroup conflicts. This assumption formed the basis of the author’s analysis in considering the possible dependence of the ideological identification of young people on their place in the social structure of society. The scientific tasks to be solved by the analysis are the understanding and conceptualization of the political and ideological orientations of modern youth in the context of socio-economic differentiation. The working hypothesis was that the least financially protected groups of young people are the most radical in relation to the authorities. Therefore, the author conditionally distinguishes two groups of young people. The first group of young people are those who have a low standard of living, suffer from a lack of social elevators and social injustice, do not have the opportunity to get a good education and are ready to change their position in society during protest actions. The second group of young people is the generation that grew up as “qualified consumers”, who saw risks in reducing their consumption levels and are therefore ready for protest actions in order to defend their rights as consumers. However , the study of this problem revealed that modern youth are quite apolitical, this was shown by answers to the question about choosing an ideology whose values are closest to the respondent, as well as a rather low percentage of radically minded youth, regardless of financial situation, which does not significantly affect the political process. At the same time, in conditions of political instability and elite conflict, these groups of youth can become a destructive resource for political actors in the conflict.

Youth Organization Empowerment through Creative Entrepreneurship Business in the Village

One of the youth groups that has a strategic role in village development is Youth Organization. This service aims to analyze youth empowerment through creative entrepreneurship in the village (district). This service method uses the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) or participatory approach, including training, mentoring, and collaboration with relevant stakeholders. Implementation starts from coordination, activity socialization, activity implementation phase, program sustainability, and report preparation, to monitoring and evaluation. The results of this service are Creative Business Training, which has been carried out in a blinded manner, producing outputs in the form of the growth of a creative entrepreneurial spirit, new products typical of the people of the Dekai District of Papua, handbooks, training modules, progress reports, final reports, of course, this is expected to have a principle of usefulness.

Do Children with High Callous-Unemotional Traits Have Attentional Deficits to Emotional Stimuli? Evidence from a Multi-Method and Multi-Informant Study.

Callous-unemotional (CU) traits in children and adolescents are linked to severe and persistent antisocial behavior. Based on past empirical research, several theoretical models have suggested that CU traits may be partly explained by difficulties in correctly identifying others' emotional states as well as their reduced attention to others' eyes, which could be important for both causal theory and treatment. This study tested the relationships among CU traits, emotion recognition of facial expressions and visual behavior in a sample of 52 boys referred to a clinic for conduct problems (Mage = 10.29years; SD = 2.06). We conducted a multi-method and multi-informant assessment of CU traits through the Child Problematic Traits Inventory (CPTI), the Inventory of Callous-Unemotional (ICU), and the Clinical Assessment of Prosocial Emotions-Version 1.1 (CAPE). The primary goal of the study was to compare the utility of these methods for forming subgroups of youth that differ in their emotional processing abilities. An emotion recognition task assessed recognition accuracy (percentage of mistakes) and absolute dwell time on the eyes or mouth region for each emotion. Results from repeated measures ANOVAs revealed that low and high CU groups did not differ in emotion recognition accuracy, irrespective of the method of assessing CU traits. However, the high CU group showed reduced attention to the eyes of fearful and sad facial expressions (using the CPTI) or to all emotions (using the CAPE). The high CU group also showed a general increasein attention to the mouth area, but only when assessed by the CAPE. These findings provide evidence to support abnormalities in how those elevated on CU traits process emotional stimuli, especially when assessed by a clinical interview, which could guide appropriate assessment and more successful interventions for this group of youth.

Penyuluhan Kesiapsiagaan Menghadapi Bencana Gempa Bumi Terhadap Pengetahuan Pemuda di Karang Taruna Pedukuhan Pundong Kabupaten Bantul Yogyakarta

Indonesia is classified as a country at great risk of experiencing disaster because it is in the ring of fire and where two world plates meet. An earthquake occurred in Yogyakarta on May 27 2006 with a magnitude of 5.9 on the Richter scale, causing many victims of life and property. The Opak River in Potrobayan Hamlet, Srihardono, Pundong was the epicenter of the earthquake. The factor causing many victims and damage during an earthquake is the lack of knowledge and preparedness of the community. Community preparedness can be increased through outreach. This research aims to determine the effect of counseling on preparedness for earthquake disasters on the knowledge of youth in the Srihardono sub-district youth group. Quantitative experimental design one group pretest-posttest was the method the researcher chose. The sample was 52 people determined by simple random sampling. There is an influence of education on preparedness for earthquake disasters on the knowledge of youth in the Srihardono sub-district youth organization with a p value of 0.000.

Post-its, postcards, and dream clouds: exploring participatory design methods as avenues to capture rural youth voices

ABSTRACT This paper reports on a participatory workshop with a group of rural youths exploring ways of engaging them to capture their voices, examining whether design-based participatory methods could support them in raising their voices and making their perspective visible to a broader public. With the frame of a one-day workshop, three different participatory design methods were tested. The empirical findings show that participatory workshops with rural youth using visual design-based methods can support the sharing of valuable knowledge about being young in rural areas from the perspective of young people. The study displays that a participatory workshop setup using design-based methods prompt young people to articulate valuable insights about their local community; and thus, potentially building up agency among the young people participating, as well as having processual values as the participatory workshop using design methods offer learning and development opportunities to young people where the young people among others gain valuable insights about their community. Thus, this study inscribes itself into the field of rural participatory research by testing participatory design methods to enable young people to express their ideas, perspectives and opinion.

Youth Perspectives of Neglect Signs and Help-Seeking.

Child neglect, recognized as the most prevalent form of child maltreatment with profound repercussions on children's development, has received limited scholarly attention compared to abuse. The current study addresses this shortfall with a qualitative research investigation involving 10 multicultural focus groups of youths aged 12 to 15. The research examined how young individuals identify signs of child neglect and discern whether formal and informal sources of assistance may be relied upon to assist in addressing this issue. Through qualitative-thematic analysis, three primary themes emerged: (1) Characteristics of neglected children, (2) challenges in identifying child neglect, and (3) official and unofficial sources to appeal for assistance when child neglect is identified. This study's insights concern peers' recognition of signs indicating neglect in children and their perspectives on potential assistance.

Promoting Positive School Climate Among Newcomer Immigrant Adolescents: A Qualitative Exploration of Perceptions and Recommendations

Despite various strengths, newcomer immigrant adolescents (NIA) are exposed to stressors that can negatively impact their adjustment to U.S. schools, resulting in social-emotional and academic concerns. School climate has been identified as a crucial system-level intervention for NIA. While there is consensus regarding supporting NIAs’ adjustment to U.S. schools, specific recommendations within the school climate literature are lacking. This study used semi-structured interviews to explore NIAs’ (N = 15) perceptions of school climate and recommendations for improving school climate. Interview data were analyzed using a grounded theory approach. Four themes emerged: (a) academic placement impacts learning, (b) the cultural and linguistic background of peers is relevant to NIA peer relationships, (c) supportive school staff consider unique NIA needs, and (d) recommendations offered to foster adjustment to U.S. schools. The results of this study can inform what aspects of school climate are most critical to improving academic and social emotional outcomes of NIA. Impact Statement Newcomer immigrant adolescents (NIA) are a growing group of youth in U.S. schools. This paper examined NIAs’ perceptions of school climate and elicited recommendations to improve school climate.

Factors influencing Customer Purchasing Attitudes towards F-commerce in Bangladesh: Youth Group Perspective

The study's objective is to identify the key factors that influence customers' attitudes towards purchasing on Facebook and establish the relationship between these variables and consumers' buying behavior on f-commerce. A quantitative research design was utilized to accomplish the goal of the study. This study utilized convenience sampling as a non-probability method of sampling. The study was conducted with a sample size of 219 young individuals engaged in online purchasing. In addition, the data was analyzed using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) with the assistance of PLS 4.0. Finally, the results demonstrate the intricate interaction between multiple factors and client preferences. Trust-related concerns, such as protecting sensitive information and online safety, significantly shape buying decisions of young customer groups. This study suggests that sales services, including prompt delivery and promotional activities, affect customers' opinions of f-commerce. F-commerce is also influenced by promotional activities, which in turn shape young consumers' perceptions. The report highlights the importance of companies understanding and addressing these factors in order to enhance customer engagement and achieve success in the digital marketplace. The study's findings will assist f-commerce enterprises in developing customized marketing plans for young customers.

Youth participation in SDG-Oriented Volunteerism: Insights from Malaysia’s APPGM-SDG Platform

Engaging youth is paramount for progressing towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This quantitative research studies the active involvement of Malaysian youth as volunteers in initiatives centred around the SDGs, with a specific focus on the All-Party Parliamentary Group Malaysia on Sustainable Development Goals (APPGM-SDG) platform. Data was gathered from 323 volunteers who applied as volunteers at the Malaysian Youth SDG Summits, the Young Asian Voices for the United Nations We Need, and the Malaysian Youth SDG Agent 22/23 and 23/24 Cohort initiatives. The objective of the study is to identify the demographic involvement of youths in volunteerism through the initiatives of APPGM-SDG. This research analyses the nature of youth participation in SDG-oriented volunteerism, investigating their demographic concentration in active engagement, including engagement by gender, organisational affiliation, and prior experience in volunteerism and how these factors contribute to voluntary work related to the SDGs. Descriptive analysis was conducted to identify the demographic distribution of youths toward the involvement in SDG-oriented volunteerism. Findings indicated a moderate distribution between males and females, a greater number of participants affiliated in organisations, and a greater number of participants with prior experience in volunteerism. By examining the quantitative nature of these volunteers with the comprehensive study of literature and discussion, we gain valuable insights into the dynamics of youth engagement in localising the SDGs. These insights, rooted in the context of Malaysia, can inform strategies for fostering youth-driven progress toward the SDGs both nationally and globally, providing recommendations to parliamentarians, civil societies, and youth groups as a whole.

The Impact of Drive Leg Impulse and Slope on Throwing Velocity and Kinematics in the Competitive Throwing Athlete.

Multiple studies have analyzed pitching kinematics using motion analysis technology, but lower extremity drive leg impulse (DLI) and drive leg slope (DLS) are not as well characterized. The purpose of this study was to investigate associations between DLI and DLS and pitch velocity as well as angular velocity of the pelvis, trunk, and humerus. Increased DLI and DLS will be correlated positively with pitch velocity and associated with increased angular velocities in the humerus, trunk, and pelvis. Retrospective case series. Level 4. Three-dimensional motion analyses data from 174 pitchers (age, 17.0 ± 1.0 years; height, 1.82 ± 0.07 m; weight, 80.0 ± 11.3 kg) throwing combined 613 fastball pitches were included. Pitchers threw 2 to 5 pitches, and the variables collected between pitches were averaged and recorded. Statistical analysis was performed using linear regressions to determine the association between DLS as well as DLI and pitch velocity and angular velocities of the pelvis, trunk, and humerus. Pitchers with higher DLI were associated with lower pitch velocities (β = -22.32; 95% CI, -32.75 to -11.88, P < 0.01). There were no significant associations for DLS and velocity (β = -0.60; 95% CI, -1.48 to 0.29, P = 0.18) or DLS and DLI with rotational velocities except for DLI and trunk kinematics (β = -0.60; 95% CI, -1.48 to 0.29, P = 0.18). In the combined cohort, DLI correlated negatively with pitch velocity, although this relationship does not exist in the subgroup analysis. Higher DLS was found in pitchers with slower pitch velocities in the elite, high school, and youth groups, although not statistically significant. No associations were found with DLS and any angular velocities between any level of play analyzed in this study, suggesting no consistent association regardless of playing level.

Young people's views and experience of diet-related inequalities in England (UK): a qualitative study.

Inequalities in diets contribute to overall inequalities in health. Economic inequality and inequalities in access to healthy food are key drivers of poor diet and ill health among young people (YP). Despite mounting evidence of structural barriers to healthy eating, less is known about how YP view and experience these inequalities where they live, and how to address them. To explore YP's perspectives on the drivers of diet-related health inequalities, we conducted three interlinked focus groups with YP aged 13-21 years from six youth groups across three geographical areas in England. We analysed the data inductively and deductively using reflexive thematic analysis and generated themes by examining how social structure, context and agency interact and impact YP's diet. YP were aware of how inequalities in employment conditions impact their families' income and ability to eat a healthy diet. They cited the high availability of hot food takeaways in their local areas as a significant barrier to healthy eating but did not support closing or restricting these outlets. They held strong views on policies to tackle diet inequality and showed a nuanced understanding of the strengths and limitations of universal and targeted approaches. Our study showed that YP have an awareness and understanding of food as important in relation to health, and of diet-related inequalities. However, further efforts are needed to shape and promote policies that resonate with YP and address both their health and wider social concerns.

Impact of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy on Anxiety Levels Among African American Adolescents.

Anxiety and depression among adolescents in the United States has steadily increased. In addition, significant disparities in access to mental health care exist for African Americans. The purpose of the current project was to support the mental health of African American adolescents involved in faith-based youth groups through implementation of dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). The community partner was an African American church in Southwest Georgia. Mindfulness training modules are offered in monthly sessions. Pre- and post-intervention surveys and the Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7) were analyzed, comparing mean GAD-7 scores before and after participation. Nurse-led quality improvement initiatives support adolescent mental health and provide sustainable resources for mental health in rural areas. Results of the quality improvement project reveal improvement in self-reported anxiety symptoms among participants after the 4-month DBT intervention. Critical climate awareness as a science education outcome

AbstractThis paper presents the argument that climate change should be taught in schools as a sociopolitical and scientific process, and that students should be able to use their science knowledge to think critically about climate change as a social justice issue. A necessary and achievable outcome of science education is critical climate awareness—an understanding of the systems and structures that create and sustain climate change inequities. Through a participatory design research partnership, a high school chemistry course was designed and studied that focused on this outcome. Data from a single group, mixed method pre/postdesign show how a group of Black and Latinx urban youth appropriated critical climate awareness from the curriculum they experienced and how they used this awareness to explain climate change as a scientific and sociopolitical process. The findings show that students became concerned about climate change, if they were not already, and that they improved their knowledge of scientific concepts specific to climate change. In their explanations of climate change, students foregrounded sociopolitical processes that result in changes to physical systems, assigned agency for carbon emissions to diverse social actors in ways attentive to power dynamics, and articulated differences in consequences and solutions based on the racial and socioeconomic demographics of communities. This work has implications for transforming science classrooms into incubators for climate justice.

Risk and Protective Factors for Gambling Among Youth by origin: Findings from the three waves of cross-sectional Finnish School Health Promotion Study among 238,939 Students.

Gambling is a public health problem that can cause many kinds of harm. The aim of this study was to examine youth gambling by origin, and the risk and protective factors associated with it. The data was drawn from the School Health Promotion Study (n = 238,939) conducted in Finland, representative of the 14 to 16-year-old Finnish schoolchildren. Cross-tabulations and multivariate logistic regression were used in assessing the association between origin and weekly gambling. Interaction terms of origin and background variables related to substance use, peer and family relations and leisure time were then calculated to assess inter-group differences. The study showed that foreign-born, migrant origin and youth from mixed families were more likely to gamble weekly compared to youth with Finnish-born parents. The likelihood of gambling was particularly high among foreign-born and migrant-origin youth. Weekly gambling was significantly more common among boys than girls in all studied youth groups, and it was particularly common among foreign-born boys compared to other groups. Substance use was associated with weekly gambling and even more so among foreign-born youth. There were also differences by origin in the strength of association between other background factors and weekly gambling. Foreign-born boys appear to be especially vulnerable to multiple health and social risks including gambling, making them a particularly important group for targeted preventive programs. Preventive efforts are needed to enhance public awareness, boost parental supervision, and limit gambling-related risks. Special attention is needed to prevent migrant-origin boys from developing problems with gambling.

Compared with the traditional "face-to-face" socialization, online socialization is favored by young people because of its invisibility, convenience and other outstanding advantages. The "invisibility" behind the anonymization of the network allows young people to immerse themselves in multiple role-plays on the network platform, realize the presentation of their self-image, and form a unique digital identity construction, and the phenomenon of "social anxiety on the network" has gradually come to the forefront, and poses a challenge to the creation of a harmonious social environment.
