The paper presents the results of a study aimed at building a psychosemantic model of collective (generational) protest consciousness of the Russian youth generations Y and Z.
The author conducted an empirical-experimental study of protest consciousness of generations Y and Z.
The categorical structure of the protest consciousness of two generations of young people is described in the paper, and the most important categories of protest consciousness are identified. The analysis shows that there are three main vectors of protest thinking in both generations: ‘honesty and intellectuality’, ‘hypocrisy and egoism’ and ‘strength and aggressiveness’. The paper outlines markers of the attractiveness/unattractiveness of protest phenomena and protest leaders.
Characteristics that distinguish each of the main forms of protest in the consciousness of the studied groups of young people were described. Based on a combination of methods both rational and unrecognized components of various protest forms have been identified. The study revealed value-semantic and affective components of the perception of the key forms of protest activity among two generations of young people.
The author described types of protest mentality, including two models: peaceful and radical protest.
Knowledge of the categorical structure of young people’s protest consciousness, understanding the structure and content of implicit subjective assessment scales of different forms of youth protest allow to model situations of protest origins and development, to forecast and evaluate social dynamics.
