There are many techniques and materials used to recover the loss of contour that occurs with age.Case presentationAn unusual case of fat tissue accumulation following cosmetic upper lip augmentation in a 61 year-old female was reported. Surgical treatment was performed for esthetic concerns. Microscopically, the tissue removed was composed of muscle fibers and mature adipocytes.ConclusionUndesirable effects of esthetic treatment can occur and the clinician should be familiar with such complications to diagnose and manage them.
