The XIII International Conference on Science and World Affairs was held in Karlovy Vary, Czechoslovakia, September 13–19, 1964. These discussions between East and West scientists have been held since 1957 and are known as the Pugwash Conferences. The Czechoslovakian Academy of Sciences was host to seventy-nine scientists from nineteen countries.The following statement summarizes the discussions and was prepared for release by the International Pugwash Continuing Committee in London.
