The world of cancer science is moving toward a paradigm shift in making connections with neuroscience. After decades of research on genetic instability and mutations or on the tumor microenvironment, emerging evidence suggests that a malignant tumor is able to hijack and use the brain and its network of peripheral and central neurons as disrupters of homeostasis in the body. Whole-body homeostasis requires brain-body circuits to maintain survival and health via the processes of interoception, immunoception, and nociception. It is now likely that cancer disturbs physiological brain-body communication in making bidirectional brain tumor connections.

Knowledge and Documentation of Wild Edible and Non-Edible Mushrooms Used by the Local Communities of Jharkhand

The wonderful world of fungi has always fascinated the human race, by their appearances and characteristic nature. The word mushroom is used for fungi and moulds in French. Since ancient times, mushrooms have been regarded as a special kind of nutritious food. They are diverse in both their growing habitats as well as their medicinal and physiological benefits. Mushroom foraging has been practiced by humans for the same reason. The forest provides large and diverse options to the villagers in the form of varieties of wild edible and non-edible mushrooms. Wild edible mushrooms are very important in the food security of tribal groups throughout Jharkhand. The aim of this study is to produce a prior mushroom checklist based on the collection and document the edible and non-edible mushrooms from Jharkhand state which are collected during the rainy season by tribals for their livelihood.

Characteristics of the Arctic nature in the perception of a child in the children's prose written by Semyon Tumat

Significant interest in the Arctic zone of Yakutia emerged at the end of the 20th century, when alluvial diamond deposits were discovered and began to be developed. The Arctic also has great prospects for hydrocarbons. At the present time there is a struggle for the development of natural resources of the Arctic, in this connection the relevance of the Arctic theme in Yakut literature as a whole increases. The Arctic is a mysterious, harsh northern land, which at the same time is very beautiful and dangerous. The land of White Silence fascinated and attracted explorers, travellers and romantics. Not only masters of words, but also artists, pedagogues, philosophers turned their eyes to the world of childhood as an integral part of people's life. Memories of childhood spent in the harsh northern land, of its courageous inhabitants - reindeer herders, hunters, fishermen - became the material for the literary works of the national writer of Yakutia, poet, prose writer Semyon Andreevich Popov-Tumat. In the works of the writer we get acquainted with the difficult life of the indigenous people of the North with their traditions, ways of life, with their feelings and dreams. We have analysed cycles of children's proses written by Semyon Tumat. In the stories of the writer contains a lot of cognitive information about the life of a simple man, a northerner, a master, transforming this harsh land and the amazing country of snow, endless sky, illuminated by the polar lights, the wonderful world of the Arctic. S. Tumat's prose does not glorify tenderness or mercy. In the works of the writer the most important themes are: the theme of childhood, upbringing, family, faith, willpower, the theme of nature, friendship and love. However, love for his native northern land, parents, the world of the Arctic appears in the works of a strong feeling, imprinted forever on the heroes. Semyon Andreevich approached to the disclosure of this issue individually; thinking over the style and details of the narrative, composition of the works, character and psychology of the heroes.

What a wonderful (post-apocalyptic) world: representations of India and the West in Ramayan 3392 AD

ABSTRACT The comics Ramayan 3392 AD are the only major futuristic adaptation of the Indian epic Rāmāyaṇa. Scholars have stated that the Indian element in the comics has been effaced so that the series could cater for international audiences versed on American pop culture. However, global concepts have often been appropriated by contemporary Indian nationalistic discourses. I analyse Ramayan 3392 AD through discourse analysis and the frameworks of Orientalism and re-Orientalism to conclude that, even though globalised, the elements in Ramayan 3392 AD create antithetical representations of India and the West.

A Quantum Approach to News Verification from the Perspective of a News Aggregator

In the dynamic landscape of digital information, the rise of misinformation and fake news presents a pressing challenge. This paper takes a completely new approach to verifying news, inspired by how quantum actors can reach agreement even when they are spatially spread out. We propose a radically new—to the best of our knowledge—algorithm that uses quantum “entanglement” (think of it as a special connection) to help news aggregators “sniff out” bad actors, whether they are other news sources or even fact-checkers trying to spread misinformation. This algorithm does not rely on quantum signatures; it merely uses basic quantum technology which we already have, in particular, special pairs of particles called “EPR pairs” that are much easier to create than other options. More elaborate entangled states are like juggling too many balls—they are difficult to make and slow things down, especially when many players are involved. So, we adhere to Bell states, the simplest form of entanglement, which are easy to generate no matter how many players are involved. This means that our algorithm is faster to set up, works for any number of participants, and is more practical for real-world use. Additionally, as a “bonus point”, it finishes in a fixed number of steps, regardless of how many players are involved, making it even more scalable. This new approach may lead to a powerful and efficient way to fight misinformation in the digital age, using the weird and wonderful world of quantum mechanics.

This book collects papers selected from the 25th Annual Conference & 14th International Conference of the Chinese Society of Micro-Nano Technology (CSMNT2023).CSMNT2023 took place in the city of Shenzhen, China, from the 20th to the 23rd of October, 2023, which was hosted by Chinese Society of Micro-Nano Technology, and organized by Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School, Peking University ShenZhen Graduate School, Harbin Institute of Technology and Shenzhen Society of Micro-Nano Technology.With the topic “Magical Micro-Nano • Wonderful World”, CSMNT2023 invited scientists in micro-nano technology all over the world to discuss the state-of –the-art and the development of the micro-nano technology. The conference set up a variety of activities such as general report, session report, poster exchanging and technical exhibition. CSMNT2023 focused on new technologies, new achievements, new breakthroughs and new trends in the fields of micro and nano technology and related frontiers. Topics include, but are not limited to: Design, simulation and analysis of micro/nano devices; Micro/nanomaterials; Fabrication technologies and processes; Micro/nano detection and characterization; Micro/nano sensors; Intelligent micro-systems and so on.There are 12 top level MEMS and NANO technology researchers were invited to make plenary presentations. Also 320 invited talks were given in 33 sessions. Thanks to all the staff and CSMNT Secretary for the efforts they have made, and thanks all honored participants. From DeFault to DeSign: Symbols, Memes, Acronyms, Emojis, & Other Visual Cues Across Time

This chapter explores the wild and wonderful visual world of iconic imagery including current day memes, acronyms, emojis and other common forms of visual communication. The study reviews a range of visual examples and their meanings beginning with the Renaissance through to futures and asks the questions Does imagery have an effect on reality? Can imagery be engineered to have a desired effect on futures? Data collection involves archetypal imagery that has appeared in the past, its meaning and influence on societies to the present-day explosion of optical bombardment through social media, screens and advertising, and their impact and influence on current culture. The data includes a look at conscientious, principled futures generated imagery and its possible connection to the creation of futures. Causal Layered Analysis (CLA) provides a comparative methodology for this investigation though enabling a comprehensive understanding of various possible interpretations of an image’s intention and perception based on analysis of graphic symbology. It does this in the form of a series of scenarios developed from the CLA. Analysis within the CLAs is sometimes aided by artificial intelligence. This is done by asking questions in ChatGPT and expanding/consolidating and/or chopping/changing the responses. From a surface peek at visual data to the depths of underlying meaning within the collective human psyche this analysis seeks to provide a provocative poke at our everyday overlooking of these day-to-day visual assaults. The study aims to offer refreshing insights into the power of an image and its ability to possibly affect thinking, feeling and action across the continuum of time into futures and what this may mean in this current pivotal era of consciousness.

Education in the simplest of its purposes has always sought to achieve success, but what is success? If each head is a world and each world is different in the imagination of each child. But it is still success to do things well, to find the meaning in the imagination of each child in the change of their consciousness, in the shine of their eyes, their sincere smile, and in being able to be together every class learning and teaching in the wonderful world of knowledge. In this sense, explore the influence of growth mindset and educational technology on academic performance. Growth mindset, which encompasses the belief that skills can be developed through practice and effort, has shown a positive impact on students' academic performance and resilience. On the other hand, educational technology, by personalizing instruction and addressing individual growth needs, promises to enrich the educational experience. Through a review of scientific literature and analysis of relevant studies, it is evident that the integration of these dimensions can significantly contribute to improving the quality of education, providing a more inclusive and stimulating learning environment.

Cajal and his love for Nature: a sentimental essence in the legacy of neurosciences.

Santiago Ramón y Cajal (1852-1934) revolutionized the branches of neuroscience in a forceful way, and he did it with extreme delicacy and candor. His scientific writings and drawings are full of allusions to Nature, a fact that demonstrates how he saw, understood and enjoyed it with exquisite sensitivity and pressing emotion. Neuroscience awakened in him the utmost curiosity to delve into the powerful mysteries of the mind, and neurohistology allowed him to satisfy his deepest concerns for fascinating scenarios, a desire not sufficiently fulfilled throughout the fields, mountains and forests of his childhood and youth. Through that wonderful microscopic world Cajal changed the size of the dreamed landscapes but not the dimension of the longed-for adventures. Exploring and entering unknown paths he unraveled some of the greatest enigmas that the nervous system hid, but he would do so with a deep feeling toward the infinite beauty that Nature itself offered him. In short, Nature was the vital axis of Cajal's overwhelming and complex personality, his most genuine essence and the inexhaustible source of inspiration where he poured his imagination and fantasy. He became a vocational adventurer, an insatiable explorer, a talented artist and an exquisite humanist. An eminently romantic soul who knew how to link Nature and Neuroscience with unconditional and perpetual emotionality.

Program “Country of Aipin” (Out-of-Class Reading Lessons, Grades 5–7)

In his work, a literature teacher should always place special emphasis not only on the acquisition by children and adolescents of a certain amount of knowledge, but also on the development of the child’s cognitive and creative abilities as an individual, and the formation of a sense of patriotism. When a teacher introduces a child to the wonderful world of literature from the Little Motherland, he is able to teach him to make decisions and perform moral actions, i.e. master the key competencies that modern quality education requires. At all times, an important component in training and education is the formation of a patriotic feeling and respect for national culture. It is in this context that the “Country of Aipin” Program was compiled (extra-curricular reading lessons, grades 5–7), which is based on such a form of work as literary local history. The “Country of Aipin” program (extra-curricular reading lessons, grades 5–7), aimed at supporting and promoting reading, will help children immerse themselves in the literary world of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra, perceive a book written by a local author as a source of spiritual ideals that shape the moral worldview of a growing child generation of Ugra. The curriculum for extracurricular reading was compiled for teachers of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra to conduct extracurricular reading lessons in grades 5–7 of a secondary school. The purpose of these lessons is to develop a taste for serious reading, create conditions for the formation of independent reading activity of schoolchildren in grades 5–7, introduce students to modern Ugra literature, form a general culture and erudition that contributes to the development of verbal logical thinking, cognitive activity, memory and speech. This program is built at the level of interdisciplinary connections. Recommended for teachers of literature and humanities subjects in secondary schools.

To say (sexual fetish)… or not to say (sexual fetish). That is the question

PurposeIn a recent report the author wrote about a service user, the author was challenged by the service user’s advocate in respect of the author’s use of the term “sexual fetish”. The author was informed of the advocate’s fears in respect of people involved in the service user’s future care and support needs feeling uncomfortable and possibly stigmatising someone having a sexual fetish. Consequently, the author was asked to change their wording from “sexual fetish” to “sensory need”. The purpose of this study/paper aims to highlight best practice regarding the most appropriate wording for individuals with sexual fetishes.Design/methodology/approachA review of the available evidence was ascertained.FindingsA review of British Psychological Society guidelines and recent research highlights that what were once called “perversions” must be destigmatised, which will not be achieved if people continue to sweep the term fetish under the metaphorical carpet.Originality/valueIt is the author’s sincere hope that use of the term “sexual fetish” embraces and normalises people’s sexual fetish and results in heightened awareness and de-stigmatisation of what is essentially a reference to an element of the wonderful and pleasurable world of sexual behaviour.
