Abstract One hundred and eleven freshman and sophomore university women students were given the Liba and Stauff volleyball passing test and a new high wall volley test with a target area 3 ft. wide and 10 ft. from the floor and no restraining line. The high volley test was found to be reliable and valid when the better of two 30-sec. trials was used. The validity of the high volley test as a measure of volleyball playing ability with these subjects was significantly greater than that for the Liba and Stauff passing test.
