IMPLEMENTASI MANAJEMEN BANDWIDTH MENGGUNAKAN METODE PEER CONNECTION QUEUE PADA MIKROTIK

A hotspot consists of one or more WLAN or Wireless LAN Access Points of standard 802.11a/b/g that provide a restricted area in which users can freely join Access Points with WLAN-enabled mobile devices. With advances in technology, a router is a device that is used to perform the routing process. However, since routers are expensive, there are hardware alternatives such as Mikrotik. Mikrotik RouterOS is an operating system that can turn a computer into a router, or often called a PC Router. solutions to take advantage of bandwidth management and use Mikrotik router boards as a tool to divide bandwidth evenly. Because excessive use will cause a long load when accessing the internet or limited bandwidth. To distribute the load and manage the client connection path to a service on the server, the PCQ (Peer Connection Queue) method is used. The way to do PCQ is to upload with type pcq-dpwnload-phd, set the queue size and total queue size, and check the classification list for different addresses. In addition, to implement bandwidth management with PCQ for uploads, you must create the type pcq-upload-pd, set the queue size and total queue size, and check the classifier list for the source address. For setting upload and download targets on the proxy, you must point to the network address 192.168.100.0/24, with a maximum upload speed of 10 MBPS and 30 MBPS download. The results of this study indicate that the use of a PCQ-based proxy network can be applied properly for Pizza Hut delivery in Batam City.

Design and implementation of wideband terahertz on-chip antenna for terahertz frequency application

Microstrip antenna have been adaptable because of their appealing features such as low profile, low weight, and low cost, microstrip antennas have been widely used in modern wireless communication, satellite communication, 2G/3G mobile services, marine or land vehicle navigations (GPS), wireless LAN access, and many small devices embedded with Bluetooth, UWB, Zigbee, DVB, and so on. Confirmability, as well as compatibility with MMIC designs. This paper presented a multi-band antenna for multifunctional wireless message employing a defective ground plane. The antenna is employed in twelve slots in a ground plane, and they function as electronics band gap tuning, allowing us to tune the frequency for a variety of wireless communication applications. The suggested design operates in four bands: 4.6 GHz to 5 GHz, 5.2 GHz to 5.5 GHz, and 5.6 to 6.2 GHz.and 6.5 to 8.9 GHz. The exciting patch, also known as a radiator patch, is made up of a parasitic and rectangular slot, as well as a segregated ground and exciting patch that runs through a FR4 dielectric substrate. The radiation patch and ground are linked by a 0.5 mm hole. A design's structure is concise and straightforward. A proposed antenna has dimensions of 20*24*1.5 mm3 with regard to wavelength 0.30, where 0 is a free space wavelength. The proposed design is appropriate for numerous wireless communication protocols, including WLAN, WiMAX, and X band applications. A proposed antenna has a bandwidth of 61%, a VSWR of 2, a minimum return loss of −20dBi, and a directivity of 7dBi.

Wireless Local Area Network Security through Protocol Wireless Protected Access

This study discusses the security analysis of Wireless Local Area Network (Wireless LAN) in the Community against external attacks on the Wireless Protected Access (WPA), Web Proxy, and Virtual Private Network (VPN) protocols, used to attack LAN. Three types of software are used as attackers, namely, Network Stumbler, Aircrack and Wireshark attackers. The software is used on the laptop at a distance of 5m to 25m from the Wireless LAN access point. From the experimental results, it can be seen that the fastest response time by the WPA Protocol was given by the Network Stumbler attacker, followed by Aircrack and Wireshark.

User data selection scheme to reduce database update errors for fingerprint localization

We are investigating the fingerprint method using wireless LAN access points (APs) to estimate user location. We focused on database update as a way to prevent the loss of localization accuracy. Updating a database using user-measured data presents the issue of update errors. In this paper, we have proposed and verified this issues.

Software-Based Validation of the Differentiation Scheme for Ethernet and Wireless LAN Access Network Types Using an End-to-End Approach

Different access network types are characterized by a variety of attributes which include link bandwidths, physical media, capacity, and reliability. Therefore, the question of accurately identifying whether the sender uses a wired ethernet connection or a wireless LAN connection comes into place. This article aims to analyse, simulate, validate, and improve the existing classification scheme which is based on measuring entropy of packet pair inter-arrival times and median. A riverbed modeller (former OPNET) is used for simulating the different scenarios. Small-scale experiment conducted on campus at the Nazarbayev University (NU) validates the insignificance of the packet probe size chosen for the classification.

Comparative evaluation on IMES and the other positioning systems for navigation performance in a ship

AbstractIn this study, an indoor messaging system (IMES) was used to determine walking positions in an indoor environment at rates of 50 and 250 bps in a ship, transmitting powers of −65 and −85 dBm. Furthermore, Bluetooth low energy beacon and wireless LAN (Wi‐Fi) access point were also used. The results confirm that the best tracking of pedestrians in an indoor environment is achieved using IMES with a transmitter in a ship. The results of these experiments will be useful for new IMES/Global Navigation Satellite System chip set designs.

LoCO: Local Cooperative Data Offloading System Based on Location Information

The development of high speed mobile networks and the widespread use of smartphones have enabled users to easily obtain large data volumes via the Internet. This causes a heavy consumption of network resources, a burden on the available bandwidth. To solve such problems, a data offloading method with a wireless LAN access point has been used to distribute traffic from mobile to fixed networks. However, the method using wireless LAN access points can only change the communication paths but cannot reduce the overall traffic. This paper proposes a local cooperative data offloading system (LoCO) that reduces the overall traffic by sharing data, with direct communication between neighbors based on their location-related information. Moreover, the authors implemented the LoCO system on Android smartphones and clarified its performance in comparison with a traditional client/server system through experiments to download data in a real-world environment.

This paper describes a method for detection of change of enviornmental conditions using analysis of series of wireless LAN signals. The method uses the charcteristics that the signal strength of the wireless LAN changes according to the conditions of the indoor environment such as the number of persons surroundings of the wireless LAN access points and clients. The paper discusses the method for validating the change of the conditions using the measurement of the indoor environment using the imaging devices and the change detection result of the series of the signal strength of wireless LAN system using singular spectrum transformation. We show the feasibility of the proposed method through the system integration and experimental results.

Throughput Optimization via Association Control in Wireless LANs

With the rapid development of the mobile computing, accessing the Internet everywhere is important for mobile device users. Wireless LAN is a stable and reliable technique to provide network access for mobile devices. The Wireless LAN Access Points(APs) have been densely deployed so that a user can access the Internet almost everywhere. However, this fact brings some new challenges. Since the regular AP association strategy is signal-based when a user receive the signals of multiple APs. The APs with strong signal will be too overloaded while the bandwidth resource in other APs is wasted. The throughput of the whole WLAN is not optimized. Moreover, the diverse bandwidth demands among users further exacerbate the situation. In this paper, aiming at optimizing the throughput over the whole WLAN, a joint AP association and bandwidth allocation problem is formulated. The different users' bandwidth demands are added as new constraints. We comprehensively analyze the solution space and prove the problem NP-hard. Our trace-driven evaluations show that the throughput is improved about 23.1 % compared to the conventional schemes.

A Study on the Design of Dual Band Antenna for Wireless LAN Access Point

In this study a 2.4GHz and 5GHz band antenna for access point for wireless short-range communication was designed and the antenna characteristics according to design value were analyzed. The base structure was based on slot antenna that has relatively broadband characteristics compared to other antennas to design a dual resonance broadband antenna structure with tapered structure as medium. It was designed in a PCB circuit board printed form and characteristic changes according to antenna length, thickness of short circuit stubs, spacing between feed line and short circuit stub, spacing between antenna and ground plane, thickness of antenna, thickness of circuit board, and permittivity of circuit board was researched. The design value was tuned according to change according to the design value characteristic graph to design the optimum antenna. The designed antenna satisfied VSWR<2.7 at 2.4~2.4835GHz, and satisfied VSWR<2 at 5.725~5.825GHz. It is considered that through tuning of omni-direction radiation pattern it will be also possible to use outdoors.

An Agile and Efficient MAC for Wireless Access over TV Whitespaces

The FCC mandate of allowing TV Whitespaces for unlicensed access has the potential for dramatic improvements in wireless access data rates. We argue that an ideal MAC should account for diverse user-location and spectrum dependent channel rates to provide fair data rates and efficient utilization. Furthermore, due to limited tunable bandwidth of a radio and fragmented spectrum, the AP should support multiple radios. We make the following contributions by designing a MAC for wireless LAN access over TV Whitespace. (i) We propose an architecture and beaconing mechanism to enable such a MAC. Our MAC is an evolution of 802.11 MAC. (ii) We propose an algorithm that chooses the Whitespaces for the different radios of the AP and assigns clients to the radios. Our algorithm has provable guarantee and is near-optimal in many scenarios. (iii) Extensive simulation over OMNET platform demonstrates the benefit of our design over a frequency and client-location agnostic Wi-Fi-like MAC. The typical throughput gain is 30-76 percent, whereas, the reduction in collisions is up to 80 percent. (iv) We implemented a proof-of-concept prototype (by modifying madWiFi drivers) that demonstrates feasibility of our design, robustness to temporal variation of available spectrum, and system throughput.

Outdoor Long-Range WLANs: A Lesson for IEEE 802.11ah

Several service applications have been reported by many who proposed the use of wireless LANs (WLANs) over a wide variety of outdoor deployments. In particular, the upcoming IEEE 802.11ah WLAN protocol will enable a longer transmission range between WLAN access points (APs) and stations (STAs) up to multiple kilometers using carrier frequencies at 900 MHz. However, limitations of WLAN outdoor installations have been found of the plethora of WLAN protocols in experimental studies. This article summarizes the challenges and provides a comprehensive overview of suggested improvements. As the standardization of the IEEE 802.11ah is reaching its final stage, important protocol aspects as well as new features are to be outlined. Interference problems and issues with the WLAN configuration, the physical layer (PHY), and media access control (MAC) are of paramount importance in outdoor WLAN networks, and thus, are discussed in detail. Further, we examine the reported upper boundaries in throughput and link reliability of long-range WLANs in different environments, including sea-surfaces, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and tunnels. At the end of this study, we reflect on the major issues regarding sub-1 GHz (S1G) WLANs and propose avenues for further research.

Research of Improved Network Access Authorization Mechanism Based on Elliptic Curve

Currently, the generic WLAN authentication protocols have the problem of low security intensity, or the problem of only one-way identification. It cannot completely adapt to the wireless LAN access certification requirements, under the condition of high security. The article analyzes the disadvantage of WAPI protocol, and then puts forward a kind of improved WLAN access authentication mechanism. It implements the mutual authentication, privacy protection, and also it can resist man-in-the-middle attack and impersonation attack. It fulfills the requirement of wireless terminals security access. The effect on security and efficiency is analyzed.

수신 신호 핑거프린트와 전파 예측 모델을 이용한 무선랜 기반 실내 위치추정

In this paper, we propose a new indoor location estimation method which combines the fingerprint technique with the propagation prediction model. The wireless LAN (WLAN) access points (APs) deployed indoors are divided into public APs and private APs. While the fingerprint method can be easily used to public APs usually installed in fixed location, it is difficult to apply the fingerprint scheme to private APs whose location can be freely changed. In the proposed approach, the accuracy of user location estimation is improved by simultaneously utilizing public and private APs. Specifically, the fingerprint method is used to the received signals from public APs and the propagation prediction model is employed to the signals from private APs. The performance of the proposed method is compared with that of conventional indoor location estimation schemes through measurements and numerical simulations in WLAN environments.

The Medical Infusion Alarm System Based on the Smart Phone Platform

Using the Windows Phone 7.5 smart phones as platform and the Silverlight technology designed and developed a set of complete infusion alarm system. With its own wireless Wi-Fi capabilities, through the hospital's wireless LAN access patient information, the smart phone can carry, solved the problem of the past that medical staff must stay in front of the computer, it can understand infusion information at any time, in time to tackle the problem of infusion and get the alarm information, and improves the work efficiency of medical personnel.

Road Side Unit Deployment: A Density-Based Approach

Currently, the number of vehicles increases every year, raising the probability of having accidents. When an accident occurs, wireless technologies enable vehicles to share warning messages with other vehicles by using vehicle to vehicle (V2V) communications, and with the emergency services by using vehicle to infrastructure (V2I) communications. Regarding vehicle to infrastructure communications, Road Side Units (RSUs) act similarly to wireless LAN access points, and can provide communications with the infrastructure. Since RSUs are usually very expensive to install, authorities limit their number, especially in suburbs and areas of sparse population, making RSUs a precious resource in vehicular environments. In this paper, we propose a Density-based Road Side Unit deployment policy (D-RSU), specially designed to obtain an efficient system with the lowest possible cost to alert emergency services in case of an accident. Our approach is based on deploying RSUs using an inverse proportion to the expected density of vehicles. The obtained results show how D-RSU is able to reduce the required number of RSUs, as well as the accident notification time.

Proactive QoS Enhancement Technique for Efficient VoIP Performance over Wireless LAN and Cognitive Radio Network

VoIP over Wireless LANs is greatly affected bypath-loss, RF interference and other sources of signalattenuation in addition to network congestion. The primaryfactors involved in effective real-time communication,namely delay and loss, must be within certain controlledlimits in such a scenario. Wireless LAN Access Points must,therefore, act in tune with the codecs to ensure high qualityof the ongoing VoIP sessions. Further deployment of VoIPin opportunistic communication medium like cognitiveradio network requires thorough analysis of the factorsinvolved in design and implementation of such networksalong with modifications in VoIP parameters. In this paper,the various codec parameters are analyzed with respect towireless LAN access points. Thereafter, an optimizationalgorithm is developed based on proactive strategy to keeploss and latency within tolerable limits. The proposedalgorithm is hence implemented in the SIP enabled test-bedto provide optimum Voice over IP (VoIP) performance. Theproactive strategy is further applied to study VoIPperformance over cognitive radio networks. A simulationmodel is developed for VoIP transmission in cognitive radionetworks with two scenarios where the primary and thesecondary user involve in VoIP transmission respectively.For each scenario, extensive analysis of both VoIP and CRNparameters is performed and an algorithm is proposedbased on codecs and active queues to ensure highthroughput of VoIP traffic with enhanced QoS. Resultsverify significant performance improvement in VoIP callquality under both wireless LAN and cognitive radionetwork environment. Simulation and measured resultshave also been included.

SNS 기반 무선랜 정보 공유 시스템 설계 및 구현

최근 들어, 저비용의 모바일 멀티미디어 서비스를 받기 위해 사용자의 무선랜 (WLAN) 사용에 대한 요구사항이 크게 증가하고 있다. 하지만 기존의 무선랜 시스템은 Open Authentication 방법에 의한 AP에 접속함으로써 외부공격에 취약하다. 본 논문에서는 무선랜 보안키를 안전하고 효율적으로 관리하는 SNS 기반 무선랜 접근 공유 시스템을 설계 및 구현하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 무선랜 접근 공유 모델에서 사용자들 간의 무선랜 접근 권한을 위해 사회적 신뢰강도를 제안한다. Recently, in order to provide the mobile multimedia service cost-effectively, the user's demand has been greatly increasing to use wireless LAN (WLAN). But existing WLAN (Wireless LAN) is vulnerable to attack of outside, as users are connecting AP using Open Authentication. In this article, we have designed and implemented WLAN Information Sharing System using social network service (SNS) which is efficiently managing. WLAN secure key. A proposed WLAN Information Sharing System model has been proposed in which the social trust strength between people is employed for WLAN access control.
