Оценка урожайности ягодных ресурсов в Селтинском и Вавожском лесничествах Удмуртской Республики

The study of berry crops was carried out on the territory of forest areas located in the southern taiga forests in the European part of the Russian Federation, in the taiga zone and in the area of coniferous-broadleaved (mixed) forests of the European part of the Russian Federation as well as in the zone of coniferous-broadleaved forests. By establishing circular plots in the prevailing types of forest, the dominant berry crops were determined such as cranberries (Vaccinium vítis-idaéa L.), blueberries (Vaccinium myrtillus L.) and wild strawberries (Fragaria vesca L.). The dependence of their yield on the age and the stand density was revealed. The biological, commercial and economic reserves of berry resources are calculated. It is established that there are sufficient volumes for harvesting berries in the studied forest areas. Recommendations on the rational and sustainable use of these resources are given.

Dynamic Changes of DNA Methylation During Wild Strawberry (Fragaria nilgerrensis) Tissue Culture.

Tissue culture is an important tool for asexual propagation and genetic transformation of strawberry plants. In plant tissue culture, variation of DNA methylation is a potential source of phenotypic variation in regenerated plants. However, the genome wide dynamic methylation patterns of strawberry tissue culture remain unclear. In this study, we used whole-genome bisulfite sequencing (WGBS) to study genomic DNA methylation changes of a wild strawberry Fragaria nilgerrensis at six stages: from explants of shoot tips to outplanting and acclimation. Global methylation levels showed that CG sites exhibited the highest methylation level in all stages with an average of 49.5%, followed by CHG (33.2%) and CHH (12.4%). Although CHH accounted for the lowest proportion of total cytosine methylation, it showed the most obvious methylation change and the most of these changes occurred in the transposable element regions. The overall methylation levels alternately decreased and increased during the entire tissue culture process and the distribution of DNA methylation was non-uniform among different genetic regions. Furthermore, much more differentially methylated regions (DMRs) were detected in dedifferentiation and redifferentiation stages and most of them were transposable elements, suggesting these processes involved activating or silencing of amounts of transposons. The functional enrichment of the DMR-related genes indicated that genes involved in hormone metabolic processes, plant development and the stress response changed methylation throughout the tissue culture process. Finally, the quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) was conducted to examine the association of methylation and gene expression of a set of different methylated genes. Our findings give deeper insight into the epigenetic regulation of gene expression during the plant tissue cultures process, which will be useful in the efficient control of somaclonal variations and in crop improvement.

Wild Strawberry-like Flavor Produced by the Fungus Wolfiporia cocos─Identification of Character Impact Compounds by Aroma Dilution Analysis after Dynamic Headspace Extraction.

Brown-rot fungi are particularly suitable for the sustainable and cost-efficient biotechnological production of natural flavors. In this study, Wolfiporia cocos was employed for the fermentation of European black currant pomace supplemented with aspartate in surface cultures to produce a flavor reminiscent of wild strawberries. Aroma dilution analysis (ADA) by means of dynamic headspace extraction was developed as a suitable technique for solid samples. The character impact compounds were quantified by stable isotope dilution analysis and standard addition and validated by recombination experiments. (R)-Linalool (1879 μg kg-1, ADA 211), methyl anthranilate (2206 μg kg-1, 210), 2-aminobenzaldehyde (771 μg kg-1, 25), and geraniol (138 μg kg-1, 25) were identified as key aroma compounds. Recombination experiments demonstrated that the combination of the four analyzed compounds was responsible for the odor impression reminiscent of wild strawberries.

Evolutionary pattern of the presence and absence genes in Fragaria species

Presence and absence polymorphisms (PAPs) exist extensively and have been investigated in different organisms. However, PAPs have rarely been detected between strawberry species at the genome level. This study identified the presence and absence genes (P/A genes) between wild strawberry species (Fragaria vesca) and octoploid cultivated species (F. × ananassa) under a relatively strict criterion. In total, 333 P/A genes present in the wild strawberry but absent in the cultivated strawberry were detected. Of the P/A genes, 91.89% (306/333) were single genes, and only 8.11% were confirmed as multi-genes. The majority of the identified P/A genes in Fragaria were generated by tandem duplications. The P/A genes were unevenly distributed on the seven chromosomes of woodland strawberry, and they clustered preferentially near the telomeric regions of the chromosomes. The P/A genes tended to encode proteins with domains closely associated with responses to varying ecological factors, such as PPR, Protein kinases (PKs), NB-ARC, F-box and EF-hand domains. This indicated that the P/A genes were associated with coping with biotic and abiotic stresses to improve the adaptability of plants to changing environments.

Assessment of the adaptive potential of strawberry genotypes based on the development of endophytic microbiota and identified R-genes

The paper presents the results of a study of the strawberry genotypes (Fragaria L.) by characteristics of endophytic microbiota and genetic determinants of resistance to fungal pathogens. Highly adaptive genotypes were identified: F. virginiana Duch. ssp. platypetala, F. orientalis Los., F. ovalis Rydb., F. moschata Duch., 298-19-9-43, Urozhaynaya CGL, Flora, Privlekatelnaya and Troitskaya. These strawberry forms are characterized by a high frequency of testing of bacterial microbiota, which suppresses endophytic fungal pathogens. The wild strawberry F. virginiana Duch. ssp. platypetala is characterized by red stele root rot resistance (Rpf1 gene). Strawberry varieties Borovitskaya and Elianny are characterized by anthracnose resistance (Rca2gene).

Diversification, spread, and admixture of octoploid strawberry in the Western Hemisphere.

PremisePolyploid species often have complex evolutionary histories that have, until recently, been intractable due to limitations of genomic resources. While recent work has further uncovered the evolutionary history of the octoploid strawberry (Fragaria L.), there are still open questions. Much is unknown about the evolutionary relationship of the wild octoploid species, Fragaria virginiana and Fragaria chiloensis, and gene flow within and among species after the formation of the octoploid genome.MethodsWe leveraged a collection of wild octoploid ecotypes of strawberry representing the recognized subspecies and ranging from Alaska to southern Chile, and a high‐density SNP array to investigate wild octoploid strawberry evolution. Evolutionary relationships were interrogated with phylogenetic analysis and genetic clustering algorithms. Additionally, admixture among and within species is assessed with model‐based and tree‐based approaches.ResultsPhylogenetic analysis revealed that the two octoploid strawberry species are monophyletic sister lineages. The genetic clustering results show substructure between North and South American F. chiloensis populations. Additionally, model‐based and tree‐based methods support gene flow within and among the two octoploid species, including newly identified admixture in the Hawaiian F. chiloensis subsp. sandwicensis population.Conclusions F. virginiana and F. chiloensis are supported as monophyletic and sister lineages. All but one of the subspecies show extensive paraphyly. Furthermore, phylogenetic relationships among F. chiloensis populations supports a single population range expansion southward from North America. The inter‐ and intraspecific relationships of octoploid strawberry are complex and suggest substantial gene flow between sympatric populations among and within species.

An Evolutionary Analysis of B-Box Transcription Factors in Strawberry Reveals the Role of FaBBx28c1 in the Regulation of Flowering Time.

Flowering connects vegetative and generative developmental phases and plays a significant role in strawberry production. The mechanisms that regulate strawberry flowering time are unclear. B-box transcription factors (BBXs) play important roles in the flowering time regulation of plants. Nevertheless, BBXs in octoploid cultivated strawberry (Fragaria ananassa) and their functions in flowering time regulation have not been identified. Here, we identified 51 FaBBXs from cultivated strawberry and 16 FvBBXs from diploid wild strawberry (Fragaria vesca), which were classified into five groups according to phylogenetic analysis. Further evolutionary analysis showed that whole-genome duplication or segmental duplication is a crucial factor that leads to the expansion of the BBX gene family in two strawberry species. Moreover, some loss and acquisition events of FaBBX genes were identified in the genome of cultivated strawberry that could have affected traits of agronomic interest, such as fruit quality. The promoters of FaBBX genes showed an enrichment in light-responsive, cis-regulatory elements, with 16 of these genes showing changes in their transcriptional activity in response to blue light treatment. On the other hand, FaBBX28c1, whose transcriptional activity is reduced in response to blue light, showed a delay in flowering time in Arabidopsis transgenic lines, suggesting its role in the regulation of flowering time in cultivated strawberry. Our results provide new evolutionary insight into the BBX gene family in cultivated strawberry and clues regarding their function in flowering time regulation in plants.

Using transects to disentangle the environmental drivers of plant-microbiome assembly.

Environmental heterogeneity is a major driver of plant‐microbiome assembly, but the specific climate and soil conditions that are involved remain poorly understood. To better understand plant microbiome formation, we examined the bacteria and fungi that colonize wild strawberry (Fragaria vesca) plants in North American and European populations. Using transects as replicates, we found strong overlap among the environmental conditions that best predict the overall similarity and richness of the plant microbiome, including soil nutrients that replicate across continents. Temperature is also among the main predictors of diversity for both bacteria and fungi in both the leaf and, unexpectedly, the root microbiome. Our results indicate that a small number of environmental factors, and their interactions, consistently contribute to plant microbiome formation, which has implications for predicting the contributions of microbes to plant productivity in ever‐changing environments.

Genetic Variability and Structure of Fragaria nilgerrensis Schlecht. Germplasm in Sichuan Province

Fragaria nilgerrensis Schlecht. (wild strawberry) is widely distributed in Southwest China, characterized by stress tolerance and the fruits of a notable peach aroma. So far there is only limited knowledge of variability and genetic structure in this species. Using AFLP markers, we investigated the genetic variability of 37 plants of F. nilgerrensis sampled in six main mountain areas of Sichuan Province and analyzed their genetic structure. Genetic similarity according to Nei and Li was used for cluster analysis based on UPGMA method and Agglomerative Hierarchical Clustering. Stratification of plants into more distinctive genetic groups was determined using Bayesian structure analysis. Six primer combinations produced a total of 1302 fragments of which 818 (62.8%) were polymorphic. Bayesian analysis showed the 37 plants of F. nilgerrensis grouped into five distinctive genetic groups. Most of the plants from the same mountain area clustered into the same genetic group, indicating each area as an area with the unique genetic profile. The genetic parameters analyzed here indicate a huge genetic variability of F. nilgerrensis in Sichuan Province. Our results provide reference data for surveying and protecting the germplasm resources of F. nilgerrensis that could be used in strawberry breeding programs.

Evaluation of genetic diversity and population structure of Fragaria nilgerrensis using EST-SSR markers.

Fragaria nilgerrensis is a diploid wild strawberry widely distributed in Southwest China. Its white color and "peach-like" fragrance of fruits are valuable characters for the genetic improvement of cultivated strawberry plants. Its strong biotic and abiotic resistance and tolerance also enable it to survive in different habitats in the field. In this study, we evaluated the level of genetic variation within and between 16 populations with 169 individuals of F. nilgerrensis using 16 newly developed EST-SSR (expressed sequence tag-simple sequence repeats) markers. The results show that the genetic diversity of this species was high, based on Nei's genetic diversity (0.26) and polymorphic loci (0.41), although it is self-compatible and has clonal propagation. Significant genetic differentiation among populations was also detected by AMOVA analysis (Fst=0.34), which could be indicative of little gene flow (Nm=0.43) in F. nilgerrensis. The phylogenetic tree indicates that most of individuals from the same population have clustered together. These populations were not grouped based on the geographical distance, consistent with the Mantel test result (R2=0.0063, P>0.05). All the populations were assigned into two ancestral groups, with some individuals admixed, suggesting ancestral gene flow had occurred between these two groups. Our developed EST-SSR markers as well as the genetic diversity and population structure analysis of F. nilgerrensis are important for genetic improvement in the breeding process. Moreover, the populations that contain high genetic diversity would be a priority for collection and conservation.

Strawberry Living Mulch in an Organic Vineyard

A living mulch system can provide beneficial biodiversified phytocoenoses and spatial competition against weeds; however, it may also compete for water with the main cultivated crop under Mediterranean climate conditions. Strawberries employed as living mulch in a rain-fed hill vineyard of central Italy were evaluated for two years through a participative approach involving the farmer. A local wild strawberry was propagated by stolons to obtain small plantlets easily uprooted after the summer and then transplanted to a one-year-old vineyard. The densities of two and four strawberry plants per grapevine were compared with no living mulch in a randomized complete block design. A horizontal blade weeder was used once a year in all treatments. The results showed that strawberries as living mulch plus application of a blade weeder avoided the need for further soil tillage and assured a full soil cover during winter for both initial planting densities. The strawberry living mulch did not alter the grapevine transpiration during an incident of water stress in summer. Moreover, the yield per vine and the grape quality were comparable with those of the soil without living mulch. The growth of strawberry mulch was relevant in the area surrounding the vines. Furthermore, the living mulch guaranteed a constant soil cover reducing the risk for soil erosion while increasing the vineyard’s biological diversity. This may imply a higher resilience.

Physiological, Biochemical, and Biometrical Response of Cultivated Strawberry and Wild Strawberry in Greenhouse Gutter Cultivation in the Autumn-Winter Season in Poland—Preliminary Study

Strawberry and wild strawberry are among the most popular horticultural crops. Due to the development of soilless cultivation systems, the whole-year production of these economically important fruit crops is achievable even in countries with temperate climate. However, the responses of strawberry (Fragaria × ananassa Duch.) and wild strawberry (Fragaria vesca L.) to microclimate conditions in greenhouse gutter cultivation in the autumn–winter season in Poland have not been yet determined. The aim of this study was to analyze the physiological, biochemical, and biometrical responses of two cultivars of strawberry ‘Ostara’ and ‘San Andreas’ and two cultivars of wild strawberry ‘Baron von Solemacher’ and ‘Regina’ grown for 20 weeks, starting from September 17th, in controlled greenhouse conditions on coconut mats in gutters in the autumn–winter season and irradiated with sodium lamps. Strawberry ‘San Andreas’ produced 30% larger leaves and almost three-fold higher fresh and dry weight of biomass than ‘Ostara’. The strawberry plants ‘San Andreas’ had a higher content (20%) of chlorophyll a and 30% of chlorophyll b than ‘Ostara’ plants. Generally, ‘San Andreas’ displayed an overall higher concentration of intercellular CO2 (about 14%) than ‘Ostara’ plants providing higher gas exchange processes. Photosynthetic rate amounted to 13.0 μmol·m−2·s−1 for ‘San Andreas’ that was almost two-fold higher than for ‘Ostara’. ‘San Andreas’ flower and fruit productions were uniform and the six-fold higher individual fruit yield proved the excellent attributes of this cultivar to the greenhouse cultivation. Even though the productivity of the two studied wild strawberry cultivars was similar, ‘Regina’ showed higher values of some parameters than ‘Baron von Solemacher’ (40% larger leaves, 25% higher photosynthetic rate, 10% higher concentration of intercellular CO2). A high nutritional value of fruits is maintained compared to traditional open-air cultivation.

Identification and chromosome doubling of Fragaria mandshurica and F. nilgerrensis

Genetic factors that control various excellent agronomic traits are present in wild strawberries; however, barriers such as ploidy differences and interspecific incompatibility prevent the transmission of these genetic factors to cultivated strawberries. Using the colchicine method to induce doubling, the autotetraploids of Fragaria mandshurica and F. nilgerrensis were obtained, and the biological characteristics of the autotetraploids and the compatibility status distribution in different cross-pollination combinations relating to the two species were further examined. The autotetraploids showed thicker and stronger morphological characteristics than those of their corresponding diploids, especially the F. mandshurica species. The change in ploidy can cause the appearance of new excellent agronomic traits: the autotetraploid of F. nilgerrensis is more resistant to anthracnose disease, caused by Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, than the diploid, and the flowering period is significantly longer, with an increase in flower quantity. There is unilateral incompatibility between the two self-compatible species. The autotetraploids are similar to the corresponding diploid in pollination compatibility; however, due to the decline in pollen viability, the related hybridisation combinations show slightly lower compatibility. The closer the ploidy is, the easier it is to obtain hybrid offspring; the tetraploids of both species crossed with cultivated strawberries, showing possible increases in compatibility after chromosome doubling.

WILD STRAWBERRIES (Rubus rosifolius Sm.) FROM SOUTHERN BRAZIL: CENTESIMAL AND MINERAL COMPOSITION, TOTAL POLYPHENOLS, ANTIOXIDANT, ANTIBACTERIAL AND ANTI-HYPERTENSIVE ACTIVITIES

The objective of the present work was to evaluate polyphenols, trace elements and compounds with antioxidant, antimicrobial and anti-hypertensive activity in wild strawberries cultivated in Southern Brazil. Fruits present high fiber, iron, potassium and sodium concentrations. Polyphenolic content was 242.12 mg of gallic acid equivalent per 100g and monomeric anthocyanin concentration was 100.50 mg of cyanidin 3-glucoside per 100g. Wild strawberries presented the capacity of scavenging 89% of ABTS•+ radical and 61% of DPPH• radicals and chelating power of 3.1, meanwhile the inhibition of the angiotensin-converting enzyme I activity was 12.5%. Fruits presented compounds with capacity to inhibit Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus cereus, Listeria monocytogenes and Aeromonas hydrophyla. Thus, wild strawberries are important source of functional compounds and their consumption is a way to promote the Brazilian biodiversity and improve human diet.

Conserved and non‐conserved triggers of 24‐nucleotide reproductive phasiRNAs in eudicots

Small RNAs play important roles in plant growth and development by modulating expression of genes and transposons. In many flowering plant species, male reproductive organs, the anthers, produce abundant phased small interfering RNAs (phasiRNAs). Two classes of reproductive phasiRNAs are generally known, mostly from monocots: (i) pre-meiotic 21-nucleotide (nt) phasiRNAs triggered by miR2118 and (ii) meiotic 24-nt phasiRNAs triggered by miR2275. Here, we describe conserved and non-conserved triggers of 24-nt phasiRNAs in several eudicots. We found that the abundant 24-nt phasiRNAs in the basal eudicot columbine (Aquilegia coerulea) are produced by the canonical trigger miR2275, as well as by other non-canonical triggers, miR482/2118 and miR14051. These triggering microRNAs (miRNAs) are localized in microspore mother cells and tapetal cells of meiotic and post-meiotic stage anthers. Furthermore, we identified a lineage-specific trigger (miR11308) of 24-nt phasiRNAs and an expanded number of 24-PHAS loci in wild strawberry (Fragaria vesca). We validated the presence of the miR2275-derived 24-nt phasiRNA pathway in rose (Rosa chinensis). Finally, we evaluated all eudicots that have been validated for the presence of 24-nt phasiRNAs as possible model systems in which to study the biogenesis and function of 24-nt phasiRNAs. We conclude that columbine (Aquilegia coerulea) would be a strong model because of its extensive number of 24-PHAS loci and its diversity of trigger miRNAs.

ИЗУЧЕНИЕ ДИУРЕТИЧЕСКОЙ И ПРОТИВОВОСПАЛИТЕЛЬНОЙ АКТИВНОСТИ НАСТОЯ И ЭКСТРАКТА СУХОГО ЛИСТЬЕВ ЗЕМЛЯНИКИ САДОВОЙ

The search for new sources of medicinal plant raw materials for the production of drugs is one of the urgent tasks of modern pharmacy. The expansion of the range of medicinal plant raw materials is possible, first of all, due to the types systematically close to the official ones. In medical practice, wild strawberry leaves are used. Wild strawberry leaves are used in medicine as a diuretic, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, choleretic, hypoglycemic, antipyretic, hypolipidemic, antimicrobial and appetite-enhancing agent. Earlier studies of strawberry leaves have shown that they have a rich chemical composition and are widely cultivated in Russia, being an affordable source for mass procurement of raw materials, and are not used in scientific medicine. At the same time, in folk medicine, strawberry garden leaves are used similarly, and sometimes instead of wild strawberries. The proximity of the composition of biologically active substances of wild strawberries and garden strawberries. To expand the modern nomenclature of medicines, studies on the comparative study of the toxicity and pharmacological activity of infusions and extraction forms from medicinal plant raw materials of strawberry leaves are relevant. In this regard, the study of the toxicity, diuretic and anti-inflammatory activity of the infusion of garden strawberry leaves and the extract of dry strawberry leaves is of practical interest for the formation of a scientific justification for their use in medical practice.

Yield and quality of strawberries when applying fertilizers

Relevance. One of the most important elements of the technology of cultivation of strawberries for increasing productivity and improving the quality of berries is the use of fertilizers that can regulate the growth, development, yield and quality of products.Methods. During 2016-2018, the impact of pre-planting application of complex mineral fertilizers on the yield and quality of strawberries in the Udmurt Republic was studied. The analysis of meteorological conditions during the growing season of the crop according to the research results is carried out.Results. The results of the use of complex fertilizers Azofoska, Perm-yagodnoye and Fusco-yagodnoye on garden strawberries when grown in the conditions of the Udmurt Republic are presented. It was found that the use of these fertilizers in comparison with the control (Azofoska) contributes to an increase in yield and has a positive effect on the quality of berries. The aftereffect of the studied fertilizers on the second and third year of fruiting of wild strawberries is noted. According to the results of research, the highest yield of berries of the garden strawberry was obtained in 2016 in the first year of fruiting when applying Chamfer-berry (1.33 kg/m2 ). The pre-planting application of the FaskoYagodnoye fertilizer provided a reliable increase in yield at all times of berry harvesting, and on average for three years by 0.13 kg/m2 with an NSR of 0.04 kg/m2 . The content of dry matter, water-soluble sugars and vitamin C in the berries corresponded to the characteristics of the Darenka variety and to a greater extent depended on the meteorological conditions of the growing season of strawberries.

Microbial biofertilizers increase fruit aroma content of Fragaria × ananassa by improving photosynthetic efficiency

Fragaria × ananassa is a widely-consumed fruit worldwide, valued for its pleasant flavor and nutritional properties. However, its lack of fragrance, unlike wild strawberries, results in customer dissatisfaction. In this study, we tested whether the biofertilizer Saccharomyces cerevisiae can enhance the aroma of strawberry. We used different fertilization methods, namely, mycorrhizal fertilization (MF) and foliar fertilization (FF), to investigate the effects of S. cerevisiae on various characteristics of F. ananassa. The results showed that the application of yeast under MF significantly increased the amount of soluble sugars and total volatiles. However, no significant difference was detected in the anthocyanin content. The amount of total volatiles in fruits under different treatments was 18.17 (MF), 11.78 (FF), and 9.51 (control) μg·g−1 fresh weight (FW). The main volatiles obtained from the fruits under MF, FF, and control treatments were esters (51.45%, 44.39%, and 29.39%, respectively), alcohols (35.93%, 28.77%, and 6.58%, respectively), and aldehydes (5.86%, 18.31%, and 62.88%, respectively). The photosynthetic rate and intercellular CO2 concentration were significantly influenced by the utilization of yeast strains. The MF treatment with yeast resulted in higher photosynthetic rate, and the plants from the FF treatment recording the highest intercellular CO2 concentration. Integrating the data of metabolites, it was suggested that S. cerevisiae, by generating CO2, promotes photosynthesis, leading to the increased sugar content in the fruits, which subsequently enhances the content of 3(2H)-Furanone, 4-methoxy-2, 5-dimethyl (DMMF) and phenylalanine-derived volatiles.

Cytotoxic effect of multifruit polyphenol preparation on human breast cancer cell lines

Natural compounds are extensively used in the treatment of various diseases. Regular consumption of polyphenols plays an important role in the protection of health by reducing the risk of degenerative diseases, including cancer. The evaluation of the cytotoxic effect of the newly obtained multifruit polyphenolic preparation (composed of seven fruit) on T47D and MCF-7 breast cancer cells and MCF-12A normal cells. The PP was produced on the basis of combined ultrafiltrates obtained from chokeberry, raspberry, wild strawberry, apricot, peach, bilberry, and cranberry. The experiments were performed using human mammary gland cancer cell lines T47D (ductal cancer) and MCF-7 (adenocarcinoma) and normal breast cell line MCF-12A. Chromatographic techniques confirmed the highest contribution of cyanidin 3-O-glucoside, p-coumaroyl glucoside and chlorogenic acid in the PP. The PP exhibited dose-dependent cytotoxic effects towards MCF-7 and T47D cancer cell lines (IC50 = 1.2 μg . cm-3) and MCF-12A cells (IC50 = 0.6 μg . cm-3). The MTT cytotoxicity assay and microscopic observations confirmed the cytopathic effect of the PP on cell lines. It is supposed that berry polyphenols interfered with estrogen receptors leading to changes in the production of paracrine growth factors and therefore, PP was less cytotoxic towards the MCF-7 and T47D cell lines than against the MCF-12A cell line.

Abstract. The productivity of wild strawberries is significantly determined not only by the biological characteristics of the variety and soil and climatic conditions, but also by agrotechnical techniques and the use of organomineral fertilizers. The effectiveness of the use of mineral fertilizers on strawberries has been proven by numerous studies [5, p. 48; 6, p. 99; 14, p. 233; 15, p. 513; 16, p.101; 17, p. 513]. The purpose is a comparative assessment of the effect of various types of complex fertilizers for strawberries. The task was to study the effect of complex fertilizers on the yield of strawberry and its structure. In 2015–2018, studies were conducted on the introduction of complex fertilizers for wild strawberries, which are used during the growing season to improve their nutrition during periods of maximum consumption of nutrients. Methods. The studies were conducted according to generally accepted methods [4], [7]. The influence of “Azophoska”, “Perm-yagodnoye” and “Fasko-yagodnoye” fertilizers on the yield and elements of its structure in strawberry was studied in the conducted studies. Results. The best results for all the years of research were obtained when using the pre-planting application of the fertilizer “Fasko-yagodnoye”. In this variant, there was a significant increase in the number of berries by 1.8 pcs., their weight by 0.68 g and yield by 0.13 kg/m2. Scientific novelty. For the first time in the conditions of the Udmurt Republic, the effect of the pre-planting application of complex fertilizers “Perm-yagodnoye” and “Fasko-yagodnoye” was studied on strawberry garden. Practical significance. The obtained research results are of great practical value, since it is proved that the productivity of wild strawberries in the Udmurt Republic increases with the use of complex fertilizers.
