Preface

Proceeding of The 7th International Symposium on Green Technology for Value Chains (GreenVC) 2023 November 14-15, 2023 Bandung, West Java Indonesia Organized by: Research Center for Environmental and Clean Technology National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) The seventh International Symposium on Green Technology for Value Chains (GreenVC) 2023 was held on November 14-15, 2023, as a hybrid event in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. The fundamental goals of this symposium were to exchange ideas and information, encourage technology development, and strengthen networking and collaboration among all attendees. The symposium was organized by the Research Center for Environmental and Clean Technology, National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). The GreenVC 2023 is an annual international symposium that was first held in 2016. This year’s theme is Unlocking a Sustainable Future through Green Technology Innovations. Due to the transition from the pandemic situation, the symposium should be held as a hybrid event, combining virtual and physical, with some attendees joining in person and others joining remotely online. On the positive side, we could gather 9 keynote speakers (5 attend in person and 4 attend virtually), 5 invited speakers (2 attend in person and 3 attend virtually), 102 presenters (46 attend in person and 56 attend virtually), and participants from various places including Japan, Sri Lanka, Australia, Taiwan, Netherlands, Malaysia, Italy, and of course Indonesia. We were gathered to share knowledge and exchange experiences through meaningful discussions on the latest innovations and technologies in environmental issues. The proceeding of GreenVC 2023 presents the original and unpublished results in all areas of interest. In total, 69 papers have been selected to be published based on the originality of the research and the relevance with the symposium topics: environmental remediation and reclamation; green material and sustainable nanotechnology; waste valorization and biorefineries; smart solutions for climate change and environmental monitoring; and water, sanitation, and hygiene. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our Advisory Board, Scientific Board, Editorial Board, and Scientific Reviewers for their positive contribution to the quality of the articles presented in this proceeding. Community preparedness for earthquake disasters: A preliminary assessment of awareness and disaster infrastructure response in Cianjur, West Java-Indonesia

Background The danger of earthquakes poses a serious threat to people worldwide. One of the most significant challenges is preparing communities to cope effectively with this disaster. Therefore, understanding earthquake hazards is critically important for preparedness, mitigation, and an effective response to this threat. This report aims to observe and conduct a preliminary assessment of the degree to which community preparedness for earthquake disasters has been implemented. Methods Empirical data were obtained from survey respondents and interviews. The respondents were members of a community affected by the Cianjur earthquake, which occurred on November 21, 2022. The data were analysed using the mean range approach, based on Likert scales. Additionally, the Spearman correlation method was employed to indicate the relationship between community awareness and infrastructure readiness. Result Based on empirical evidence and preliminary analysis, it is evident that the preparedness of the community to respond effectively to earthquake catastrophes is inadequate. An apparent lack of readiness is observed in the inadequate construction of housing that fails to meet disaster standards, and the absence of disaster response facilities is notable. Conclusions Based on our initial assumption, it appears that knowledge related to disaster resilience in this area has not been adequately disseminated or socialized. However, this premise requires further investigation.

Strategy of geothermal energy development as a renewable energy source in West Java Indonesia

Background: Indonesia has vast renewable energy potential, including biofuels, biomass, and bioenergy from tropical biodiversity spread across the country. Hydropower and geothermal energy are the only forms of renewable energy used to generate electricity and are connected to the grid. Geothermal energy may be incorporated into the grid to create hybrid energy systems that will help to reduce the high energy demand while maintaining low energy costs and net present costs. There are now 14 biosphere reserves in Indonesia, divided into 24 units of core zones, six units of buffer zones, and 13 units of transition zones. The West Java Province has a geothermal potential of 6,101 MWe or 21% of Indonesia's total geothermal resources. Currently, the installed capacity of electricity from geothermal energy in West Java is 1075 MWe or 89% of the total national installed capacity of 1196 MWe. Method: This paper reviews West Java Province data collection from official government bureaus, state-owned businesses, and non-governmental organizations (NGO) reports on geothermal energy capacity, electricity installation, and used area of ​​geothermal power plant and will be limited to the years 2010 through 2020. The collected data will then be refined, extrapolated, and analyzed by the connected trend to aid in studying West Java geothermal growth and use SWOT method analysis. Finding: The result of this research is a strategy for optimizing the development of geothermal energy utilization. The strategies that can be developed are infrastructure improvement as an investment facilitation strategy, a strategy to leverage a costly investment and capital investment, underground mining in conservation forest areas to avoid degradation improvement and supervision of related institutions and stakeholders, implementation of environmentally sustainable development, and socializing programs and providing job opportunities for the local community. Conclusion: Indonesia has an enormous potential for renewable energy, especially geothermal, with West Java Province having the largest installed capacity. This study suggests strategies to optimize geothermal energy development, including improving infrastructure, investment facilities, underground mining, improving supervision, and sustainable development. Novelty/Originality of this study: Research on geothermal energy in West Java provides a comprehensive analysis and specific strategies to optimize the development of this energy in the area, including innovative underground mining approaches.

The effect of botanical pesticide application and mycorrhiza on colonization of mycorrhiza, soil microbial communities, growth and yield of maize on Ultisols

An experiment to study the effect of synthetic and botanical pesticide and arbuscular mycorrhizae (AMF) on mycorrhizal colonization, population of soil microbes, growth and yield of maize on Ultisols was carried out in green house of Agriculture Faculty, Universitas Padjadjaran at Jatinangor, Sumedang District, West Java Indonesia The experiment design used was Factorial Randomized Block, consisted two factors. The first factor was pesticide consisted five levels i.e. without pesticide; neem (Azadirachta indica A. Juss) pesticide; Annona muricata pesticide ; furadan and regent. The second factor was mycorrhiza consisted two levels i.e. without AMF inoculation and AMF inoculation. The experiment consisted two units with three replications; the first unit was harvested in the end of vegetative period to observe percentage of mycorrhizal infection, population of soil bacteria and fungi, fosfor uptake and dry weight of shoot, and the second unit was harvested in the end of generative period to find out the yield of maize. The results of this experiment showed that there was no interaction effect between pesticide and AMF on percentage of mycorrhizal infection, population of soil bacteria and fungi, fosfor uptake, dry weight of shoot and yield of maize. Pesticide decreased percentage of mycorrhizal infection and population of soil bacteria and increased yield of maize. Furthermore, AMF increased fosfor uptake and yield of maize.

Exclusive breastfeeding practice during COVID-19 pandemic in West Java Indonesia: A cross-sectional study.

The achievement towards 100% exclusive breastfeeding still a challenge in many countries despite adverse impacts due to the absence of exclusive breastfeeding. One consequence from the low practice of exclusive breastfeeding is malnutrition, including stunting that can be prevented by providing optimal food to infants, starting with providing exclusive breastfeeding from birth to 6 months of age. However, the practice of exclusive breastfeeding still low and it is suspected that this practice also decreased during the COVID- 19 pandemic. This study aims to analyze the determinants of exclusive breastfeeding in sub-urban areas during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study using cross sectional design conducted from interviewing 206 mothers in 2022 who meet the inclusion criteria, consisted of breastfeeding their babies in the last 1 year and live in Sub-urban area in Depok City, West Java. Multiple binary logistic regression used to measure the association and strength between independent variables with the outcome variable. Independent variables with a p-value < 0.25 during the Chi-square test were included in the logistic regression model. Prevalence of exclusive breastfeeding and early initiation of breastfeeding (EIB) was 58.3% and 57.8% respectively. Factors associated with exclusive breastfeeding practices are education, employment status, knowledge and attitude about exclusive breastfeeding, self-efficacy in providing exclusive breastfeeding, EIB practice, and eating pattern. From multivariate analysis, it was found that the dominant factors to exclusive breastfeeding are EIB. The study highlights the importance of improving exclusive breastfeeding practice through early initiation of breastfeeding, mother's knowledge, education and self-efficacy. Therefore, health promotion and education should emphasize the importance of those factors, supported by the health policy and massive campaign as a key success in exclusive breastfeeding.

Examining The Role Of Ethical Leadership On Employee Work Ethic, Ocb And Performance In Marketing Departments Of Universities In West Java

Ethics is critical issue at work environment. Several previous studies depicted that with ethical leadership, a harmonious work environment can be formed and it leads to better performance. This study aims to analyze the relationship between ethical leadership on work ethic, OCB (Organization Citizenship Behaviour) and employee performance in the Marketing Department of Higher Education in West Java. The population in this study were employees in the Marketing Department of Higher Education in West Java Indonesia. This research is categorized as a quantitative study with primary data obtained through questionnaires distributed to 180 employees of the Marketing Department of Higher Education in West Java. The analysis in this study used the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method with SmartPLS software. The results of the analysis in this study state that ethical leadership influence positively on work ethic, on OCB, and on performance in the Marketing Department of Higher Education in West Java. This study also confirms the significant influence of work ethic and OCB on the teaching performance of the employees. From the results of the research, higher education managers can develop ethical leadership so that an ethical work environment expands, OCB practices increase, and the performance of Marketing Department employees improves.

Mother's knowledge and attitudes towards preventing stunting in their toddlers (1-5 years) in West Java Indonesia

Background: Stunting is a term used to describe a condition when a child's physical growth does not reach the height that should be appropriate for his age. This indicates that the child is experiencing growth delays which can have a negative impact on their physical and cognitive development. Stunting or shortness of breath occurs when babies (0-11 months) and toddlers (12-59 months) experience growth failure as a result of chronic malnutrition, especially during the first 1,000 days of life. The impact is that the child has a shorter height than the standard that should be appropriate for his age. Purpose: To determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes of mothers towards stunting in toddlers (1-5 years) in the Ciherang Community Health Center working area, Cianjur Regency in 2023. Method: Quantitative research with a research design cross sectional. This research was conducted from April to May 2023. Respondents were 53 mothers who had stunted children under five. Data collection was carried out by observing, analyzing data using tests spend-square. Results: Analysis results spend-square earned value p-value = 0.003 &lt; 0.05. Conclusion: There is a relationship between mother's knowledge and attitude towards stunting. Suggestion: It is hoped that it can increase knowledge and insight for mothers to know the importance of prevention stunting from the age of toddlers in order to reduce the number of incidents stunting in Indonesia, especially in the Cianjur Region.

Financial Performance of Dairy Cooveratives in West Java-Indonesia During the Covid-19 Pandemic and Foot-and-Mouth Disease Outbreak

Dairy cooperatives play an important role to collect milk production from dairy farmers, distribution of milk to the milk processing industry, concentrate supply services, credit guarantees, artificial insemination and animal health services, savings and loan services, and various other services carried out by cooperatives. This condition causes the dependence of dairy farmers on cooperatives to be quite high. External factors can influence cooperative resilience, such as the Covid-19 pandemic and Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD). Therefore, the purpose of this study was to analyze the performance of cooperative milk production, and to the financial performance of cooperatives in the post-pandem Covid-19 period and during FMD. The method used in this study was a survey method to KPBS Pangalengan which represents large cooperatives, KSU Tandangsari which represents medium-sized cooperatives, and KPS Bogor which represents small cooperatives. The analysis method used standard cooperative performance methods through regulations of the Deputy for Supervision of the Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (KUKM) of the Republic of Indonesia Number 06/Per/Dep.6/IV/2016 and key perfomance index to assess the financial performance of cooperatives. The results of the study showed that the performance of cooperative milk production decreased by 19.45% during the Covid-19 pandemic to the FMD as a result of the dairy cow mortality rate of 20.14%. The financial performance of dairy cow cooperatives was in the adequate category, both during the Covid-19 pandemic and FMD, but there was a decline in the ratio in all aspects of financial performance during the FMD. Thus, the performance of milk production and the financial performance of dairy cooperatives was better during the Covid-19 pandemic than during the FMD period. Therefore, strengthening milk production by providing new dairy cows and strengthening finances is very important

Musculoskeletal Disorders Prevalence in Nurses at a Private Hospital in West Java Indonesia

Musculoskeletal disorders are prevalent among healthcare professionals, notably registered nurses. Typically, hospital nurses work long hours in awkward positions, bending and twisting. This study aimed to identify hospital nurses' musculoskeletal disorder complaints. This study was a cross-sectional study and conducted at a private hospital in West Java. This study recuited nurse respondents consisted of 73% were female nurses, with an average age of 27.66 ±3.56 years. The nurse respondents reported mild to severe pain based on Nordic Musculoskeletal Disorder Survey. This study found that there were 41% of the nurses reported mild pain in the lower neck, 51% reported moderate pain in the waist, and 12% reported severe pain in the waist. Overall, nurses in the inpatient unit dominates the middle part of the body complaints. Musculoskeletal disorder complaints from nurses needed additional assessment and intervention to improve nurses’ quality of life.

Analisis Break Even Point Multi Produk Sebagai Alat Perencanaan Laba Pada Homestay Ibu Iis Di Situs Wisata Gunung Padang

This research was created to determine and analyze the profit planning of Ibu Iis' Homestay by calculating the break even point. The research subjects were conducted at Ibu Iis Homestay which is located on Kp. Gunung Padang, Karyamukti Village, District. Campaka, Kab, Cianjur West Java Indonesia. Data was obtained directly through interviews by asking questions to Mrs. Iis as the homestay owner. The analytical tools used are Break even point and Margin of safety. The research results show that in 2022 the break even point for multi-room products is 47 outdoor room units and 14 indoor room units. Room rental at the break even point is in Rupiah, namely an outside room of Rp. 4,728,451 and the inner room is Rp. 2,072,535. Minimum room rental for homestays is 97 units and indoor rooms are 29 units. Sales in rupiah for outside rooms are Rp. 9,700,000 and for inner rooms Rp. 4,350,000 . The margin of safety at Mrs. Iis's homestay in 2022 in percentage for outside rooms is IDR. 38.59% and for inside rooms it is 7.98% while in rupiah for outside rooms it is Rp. 2,424,740 and for inner rooms Rp. 724,273. Changes in factors that influence the Break Even Point at Ibu Iis' homestay are changes in room rental prices and variable costs. If the room rental price is increased by 25%, the break even point decreases and profits increase. Likewise, if the rental price is reduced by 10%, the break even point increases and profits decrease. If variable costs are increased by 15%, the break even point increases and profits decrease and vice versa.

Compatibility of the Use of Personal Protective Equipment (Uniform) Based On Standard Operational Procedures in PT Ochiai Menara Indonesia Quality Control Subdivision

This study aims to determine the suitability of using PPE (Uniform) based on SOP in the quality control subdivision of PT Ochiai Menara Indonesia. PT Ochiai Menara Indonesia is a manufacturing company that produces spare parts for the needs of the automotive industry which is located at Jl. Maligi Raya, Lot K-1 Industrial Area KIIC Karawang 41361 West Java Indonesia. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method with triangulation techniques. There were 3 subjects in this study, namely Assistant Manager, Leader, Coordinator of the quality control subdivision of PT. Ochiai tower of Indonesia. The results of the study showed that there was a mismatch in the use of PPE (uniform) when working. The solution to this problem is that management must give a direct warning to employees who wear uniforms that are not in accordance with company SOPs, and must replace uniforms by buying new uniforms from the company. conduct regular safety patrols so that employees comply with all company rules.

The ensemble distance on model-based clustering for regions clustering based on rainfall: The case of rainfall in West Java Indonesia

Time series data clusters are being researched thoroughly. The distance metric drives the development of the clustering time series. The ARIMA model is one of the models that can be employed in model-based clustering, although differing model selection criteria can lead to uncertainty in the model. In this investigation, we created a technique for ensemble distance-based time series data clustering. To express the distance between two series, five distances based on the five model selection criteria are utilized. The average of the five distances reflects the distance of two time series data. According to the simulation results, the ensemble distance method could boost clustering accuracy by more than 11%. Based on the pattern of rainfall levels, we applied our methods to find clusters of locations in the Province of West Java (Indonesia). The findings indicate that the rainfall pattern in the same cluster is similar. The cluster model is effective and feasible for representing individual models in a cluster.

The Exergy and Energy Analysis of Change Phase Steam in Patuha Geothermal Well Production

A Geothermal Power Plant Company in West Java Indonesia have capacity around 55MW. It company have increased the well production quality to keep up the Indonesia's energy demands. The power plant has been operated around ten years, it has ten geothermal production wells and two injection wells. The either of it wells has an abnormality. It wells has water dominated condition so, the separator equipment is required to separate the steam from water and vapor. Previous study indicated that subsurface water entering the broken reservoir pipe. That leaks in reservoir pipe was repaired in 2020. The impact after the pipe have been repaired it made the fluid characteristic of reservoir be vapor dominated. After that a separator as a steam separator is no longer required. The study compares the value energy and exergy power of the power plant. The calculations are performed from the well reservoir and all power plant equipment. According to the results of the energy study, the plant's energy efficiency after the transformation increased by 0.03%, from 19.48% to 19.52%. The exergy value of the brine in either wells (separated steam cycle) is also known to be 2.512,52 kW, beyond which the value will become zero.

Low Carbon e-Book on Climate Change with Education for Sustainable Development Framework for Sustainability Literacy of 7th Grader

Climate change and its impact on the environment is a topic that is aligned with low-carbon education principle to support the education for sustainable development framework. A low carbon e-book was developed to improve sustainability literacy. The e-book was then used in science learning and its effectiveness in improving sustainability literacy was investigated using a pre-experimental method with a pre-post-test design, with 40 grade 7 students of Junior High School in West Java-Indonesia as research subjects. The results showed that the developed e-book met the feasibility of the book in terms of content, presentation technique, grammar, graphics, and ease of use content validity ratio with qualified category, content validity index index with appropriate category. In addition, the book, which is presented with different examples of low-carbon education, is interesting for students because the illustrations are fun for students and the functions displayed are updated according to the character of students who are familiar with the IT world. The results show that learning with other e-books can improve students' sustainability literacy in the medium category

Influence of Village Apparatus Competence And Clarity Of Budget Targets For Accountability Of Village Fund Management

&#x0D; &#x0D; &#x0D; &#x0D; This study evaluated the accountability of village fund management in Ciparay Village, Bandung, West Java Indonesia. The precise goals were to determine how Village Apparatus Competence and Clarity of Budget Targets affected Acountability of Village Fund Management.&#x0D; The study was descriptive in nature, and the data collecting and analysis methods used were quantitative. A questionnaire was used to collect data from a sample of 56 responden. SPSS Version 25.0 and 5% significance level were used to analyze the data and produce both descriptive and inferential statistics. The study concluded.&#x0D; It was found that Village Apparatus Competence and Clarity of Budget Targets affected Acountability of Village Fund Management. It is hoped that this research can be used as an additional positive input reference for village officials, regional government and central government, to evaluate village fund allocation policies and systems to implement the principle of accountability in managing village funds. Apart from that, the community must also have awareness and concern so that they can participate in managing village funds.&#x0D; &#x0D; &#x0D; &#x0D; &#x0D;

An introduction to edible Armillaria novae-zelandiae from Indonesia

The majority study of Armillaria globally had been focused on A. mellea. The Indonesian data of genus Armillaria remains poor. During our fungus foray in West Java (Indonesia), some basidiomata of supa jambu (local name) consumed by the local people were collected. In the field, the specimens were morphologically identified as Armillaria. The present study was to confirm the species identity of our specimens based on morphological and molecular evidence. The fresh basidiomata were used for the examination. The combination of morphological and molecular analyses confirmed our specimen as Armillaria novae-zelandiae. Armillaria novae-zelandiae FIPIA-DEP50 was identified by its viscid, thin, striate, honey-yellow pileus, semi-bulbous to bulbous stipe which darken to black with age towards the base. Spore moderately thick walled, ellipsoid, to elongate-ellipsoid, smooth with some internal structure. Armillaria novae-zelandiae FIPIA-DEP50 is generally smaller in stature than the other closely related species (A. sparrei and A. hinnulea). The BLAST result revealed that our specimen exhibits 98% similarity to Armillaria novae-zelandiae as the top hit. The phylogenetic tree nested our specimens with A. novae-zelandiae clade (BS 100%) and A. mellea as its sister clade. The current study provides the first edibility information and herbarium collection of A. novae-zelandiae for Indonesia.

Digital Resonance: Enhancing Pronunciation through Tech-Infused Teaching Strategy

The intention of this research is to discover the implementation of Cake in teaching of pronunciation and to uncover the students’ perception toward the use of Cake in teaching of pronunciation. This research applied qualitative descriptive method. The study was conducted at a private vocational school in Cianjur West Java Indonesia in the academic year 2021. The participants consisted of second grade of banking major at the ages between 15-17. Two of them were male and ten were female. This research collected the data through observation and a forced-choice questionnaire format where the participants were asked to choose one of the available selections (Yes or No). As the data were collected, the writer analyzed them. There were six steps in analyzing the observation as well as the questionnaire: (1) preparing the data to be analyzed, (2) reading or viewing all data, (3) coding the data, (4) generalizing the code, (5) creating tables based on the data code, and (6) interpret the data code. Over the observation the writers found a new formula on implementing Cake in helping students’ pronunciation accuracy. This formula then is called MRCP with drilling as the teaching strategy. The results of questionnaire show that Cake was new for the student. It has many features that support students in learning pronunciation. The students were also happy learning using Cake and they felt more confident to speak English after learning using Cake.
