Development of Warning Device in Risk Situations for Children with Hearing Impairment at Low Cost

Hearing impairment is the partial or total loss of hearing. There are approximately 34 million hearing impaired children in the world. The equipment used as a means of communication to improve interaction with society is very expensive, so in this study was built an electronic device with the ability to recognize some words configured as an emergency message. This equipment will be used as a basic means of communication for hearing impaired children at a very low price. The equipment consists of a transmitter and a receiver, which communicate over Wi-Fi 802.11 at distances between 0m and 95m using low-power electronic devices and recent technology such as WeMos D1 mini Lite cards. This device was tested on approximately 20 people caring for hearing impaired children, obtaining a measure of approval of approximately 74%. This is the first step in research that we plan to continue to reduce health gaps and improve communication for children with disabilities. Our group works for preventive health, reducing health gaps in the most vulnerable population.

PROTOTIPE MOBILE STATION UNTUK PEREKAMAN KANDUNGAN UDARA

This study aims to monitor the air quality of Denpasar city with mobile station that can transmit air content information in mobile and real time. This mobile station was built using Wemos D1 Mini Board which is a small wifi board based on ESP8266. Information sent via the Wemos D1 board is information obtained from sensors MQ-7 and MQ-135 and DHT11. DHT11, MQ-7 and MQ-135 sensors can detect the temperature, CO and NH3 gas, NOx, alcohol, benzene, smoke and CO2. Information obtained from the sensors will be posted on a website so that people can know the level of air pollution in the city of Denpasar. This developed monitoring system has successfully displayed data in the form of a folder on the web server.

A System Based on the Internet of Things for Real-Time Particle Monitoring in Buildings.

Occupational health can be strongly influenced by the indoor environment as people spend 90% of their time indoors. Although indoor air quality (IAQ) is not typically monitored, IAQ parameters could be in many instances very different from those defined as healthy values. Particulate matter (PM), a complex mixture of solid and liquid particles of organic and inorganic substances suspended in the air, is considered the pollutant that affects more people. The most health-damaging particles are the ≤PM10 (diameter of 10 microns or less), which can penetrate and lodge deep inside the lungs, contributing to the risk of developing cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, as well as of lung cancer. This paper presents an Internet of Things (IoT) system for real-time PM monitoring named iDust. This system is based on a WEMOS D1 mini microcontroller and a PMS5003 PM sensor that incorporates scattering principle to measure the value of particles suspended in the air (PM10, PM2.5, and PM1.0). Through a Web dashboard for data visualization and remote notifications, the building manager can plan interventions for enhanced IAQ and ambient assisted living (AAL). Compared to other solutions the iDust is based on open-source technologies, providing a total Wi-Fi system, with several advantages such as its modularity, scalability, low cost, and easy installation. The results obtained are very promising, representing a meaningful tool on the contribution to IAQ and occupational health.

On the Design of Watering and Lighting Control Systems for Chrysanthemum Cultivation in Greenhouse Based on Internet of Things

Two things that are very influential on the growth of Chrysanthemum are moisture and lighting. This research aims to make the system of watering and lighting control, and monitoring of soil moisture on the cultivation of Chrysanthemum in IoT-based Greenhouse. This research combines the concept of the Internet of Things and control system. The temporary results of this research are the application of lamp control and website-based pumps that are compatible on Android at least version 4.2, iOS, and windows also various browsers. The WEMOS D1 mini ESP8266 module is used as a controller and webserver of this Chrysanthemum irrigation and lighting system. The system is tested with wireless connections within a limited range, with an average response time of 0.5 seconds and an average connection speed of 58 Mbps.
