Water and sediment changes and the eco-environment response characteristics in Three Gorges Reservoir after the impoundment

三峡水库举世瞩目,是长江保护与治理的关键性枢纽工程,水库自2003年蓄水运行后库区水沙条件均发生了显著改变,对库区水生态环境产生了深远影响。本文系统综述了三峡水库蓄水运行后库区的水流动力特性和泥沙淤积特性,总结了蓄水后水库的新水沙运动情况;从水库蓄水运行后水质参数特征,营养物质、重金属和典型有毒有机污染物的赋存特征等方面,分析了三峡水库库区新水沙变化条件下的水环境响应特征;基于水库蓄水前后浮游植物、底栖动物等重点生物群落的现存量和群落特征变化规律,探索了三峡水库新水沙变化条件下库区的水生态响应特征;最后对未来三峡水库运行下的水生态环境效应研究提出展望,本文可为三峡水库水生态环境保护科学研究和管理提供新的认识和决策参考。;The water-sediment conditions in the reservoir area had changed significantly after the operation of the Three Gorges Reservoir, which has had a profound impact on the water ecology of the reservoir area. In this paper, the dynamic characteristics of the water flow and sedimentation in the reservoir area before and after the operation of the Three Gorges Reservoir were summarized, and the changes in the water-sedimentation conditions after water storage were analyzed. The water environmental response characteristics under this newly formed water-sediment conditions were evaluated in terms of changes in water quality parameters, nutrients, heavy metals, and toxic organic pollutants after the reservoir storage. The ecological response characteristics of aquatic biotas were also explored based on the community changes of phytoplankton, benthic fauna and other key biological communities before and after the reservoir storage. Finally, the outlook for future research on the water ecological environmental effects of the Three Gorges Reservoir was proposed. This paper can provide support for the water ecological environment protection of the Three Gorges Reservoir.

Investigation and analysis of water environment characteristics in Taipu River

Taipu River is one of the important river channels of Taihu Lake, and also an important water body in the demonstration zone of green and integrated ecological development of the Yangtze River Delta. In this study, we collect the water quality monitoring data of Taipu River and related research results of Taipu River water quality, and analyze the water environment characteristics of Taipu River by analyzing the water quality status of Taipu River main stream and East Taihu Lake. The results indicate that from 2016 to 2018, the annual mean values of conventional indexes in main sections of the Taipu River main stream were maintained in Class II to III. The incoming water from the Taipu River mainly includes the East Taihu Lake and its tributaries. The water quality of the East Taihu Lake is superior to that of the Taipu River. The water quality of the Jinze section is mainly affected by the inflow from the East Taihu Lake. Increase the discharge under Taipu sluice to supply high-quality water, which can effectively guarantee the water quality of the section. Then we identify the main water environmental problems in Taipu River basin. The results of our analysis can provide support for the water ecological environment protection of Taipu River.

Study on cooperative constraint zoning of water environment.

This study comprehensively considers two elements of water environmental sensitivity and pressure using the combination of qualitative analysis and quantitative calculation. And it puts forward the water environmental collaborative constraint zoning method and focuses on the construction of the water environmental collaborative constraint zoning evaluation index system using the fuzzy optimization programming model to determine the index weight. This study takes the Liaohe River Basin in Liaoning Province as a study area through two-dimensional quadrant analysis of water environmental sensitivity and pressure; it is divided into four types of areas: high-pressure and high-sensitivity area (HP-HS area), high-pressure and low-sensitivity area (HP-LS area), low-pressure and high-sensitivity area (LP-HS area) and low-pressure and low-sensitivity area (LP-LS area), respectively. The results show that the proportion of HP-HS area is 28.4%, the proportion of HP-LS area is 10.1%, the proportion of LP-HS area is 22.2% and the proportion of LP-LS area is 39.3%, respectively. The evaluation results are in line with the actual situation of the Liaohe River Basin in Liaoning Province. According to the results of different zoning, this research puts forward the optimization and adjustment scheme of industrial layout to achieve the comprehensive and coordinated sustainable development of population, economy, society, and environment in the study area. The research results also have been applied to the formulation of '14th Five-Year Plan' for water ecological environment protection of key river basins in Liaoning Province.

Importance of Water Ecological Environment Protection in Urban Landscape Design

With the continuous acceleration of urbanization, urban construction has gradually become an important factor to promote the development of productive forces, the construction level of first-tier cities in China is higher than that of second-tier cities, and the economic volume is about several times that of other cities. Therefore, urban construction is an important factor to promote productivity. As a special regional type, a city watershed is a complex system with integrity and regionality. The particularity of urban watersheds lies in the fact that cities are characterized by the aggregation of elements. Cities are not only areas with densely populated population and buildings, but also the concentrated places of production, consumption and exchange. The development of cities is dynamic and diverse. The city ecological elements in the watershed are closely related, and the upstream and downstream regions are inseparable and affect each other. The current issues in the administration and conservation of the river basin’s water environment are due to conflicts of interest between the upstream and downstream of the city river basin, as well as between numerous departments. The conflict of interest and conflict of interests between the upstream and downstream of the urban watershed and various departments is the difficulty in the management and protection of the water environment in the current watershed. Water environment security means that there are clean and sufficient water resources to meet the needs of human survival, to meet the needs of social progress and economic development, and to maintain a good ecological environment. Water ecology refers to the influence of environmental water factors on organisms and the adaptation of organisms to various water conditions. Urban greening and landscape design are of great significance to the improvement of the ecological environment and the realization of sustainable urban development. This article takes the ecological landscape of a certain area as a research object to study the complexity, diversity, variability and other characteristics of modern ecological environmental problems, and analyzes the relevant situation of water pollution in the landscape ecological environment. The research shows that: permanganic acid in the water body around the lake The salt index, COD, BOD5, total phosphorus, and total nitrogen cannot meet the requirements of the Class III water environment functional zone. Among them, the highest pollution of the permanganate index is the W10 monitoring point, which exceeds 1.98 times, and the second is the W8 monitoring point, which exceeds 1.65 Times; COD pollution is the heaviest at the W7 monitoring point, exceeding the standard by 0.56 times; BOD5 pollution is the heaviest at the W8 monitoring point, exceeding the standard by 0.39 times; the heaviest total phosphorus pollution is the W11 monitoring point, exceeding the standard by 19.90 times. From the water quality testing data, it can be concluded that the water quality of the landscape area is seriously polluted, which seriously affects the drinking water safety of residents. In the process of modern urban garden landscape planning and design, only full use of ecological concepts can reduce the consumption of natural resources, avoid damage to the original ecological environment, and provide a more comfortable and healthy living environment for the people.

Four‐level compensation standards and calculation techniques for water ecological protection in the river source regions in China

AbstractThe water ecological environment problem in water resources management of river basins mainly lies in the incoordination between the utilization and protection of water resources among different regions. Ecological compensation, therefore, is needed in order to solve this problem. The measurement of reasonable compensation standard plays a vitally important role in the successful establishment of ecological compensation. In this study, a four‐level compensation standard called ‘minimum‐basic‐complete‐maximum’ (MBCM) is proposed, which is based on the calculation of direct cost, the equalization of essential public service for water, opportunity loss and the comprehensive benefit of water ecological environment protection in the source region. MBCM method provides a multi‐level platform for the establishment of the compensation mechanism, which enables different departments to know their respective costs and benefits clearly. The Sanjiangyuan region (SR) in China is chosen as the study area. The results show that (1) the minimum compensation standard for the SR is 300 million RMB per year; (2) the basic compensation standard is 1.7 billion RMB per year; (3) the complete compensation standard is about 3.75 billion RMB per year; (4) the maximum compensation standard creates the total economic value of 181.6 billion RMB for the downstream water output. The proposed MBCM four‐level compensation standard can also be applied to other river source regions.

Study on the integrated protection strategy of water environment protection: The case of Hainan Province of China

In order to promote the construction of a beautiful China, 14th five year plan is started. The basic conditions of water ecological environment in Hainan Province are good, but in recent years, the function of water ecosystem is degraded and the improvement of water environment quality is limited. China has integrated the “three water” of water environment to set the water resources and water ecology into the goal index and task engineering setting of the special plan for water ecological environment protection. But the China’s water ecological environment protection strategy needs to comprehensively consider the connection between space development and protection, industrial green development, ecosystem protection and restoration and traditional water pollution control. So, integrated protection strategy is carried out in this process. Discussion on the protection strategy of Dahuofang river water ecological environment

China’s per capita fresh water resources only account for one fourth of the world’s per capita fresh water resources, therefore, the protection of fresh water resources and river ecological environment protection is very important. This paper focuses on the analysis of the current situation of Dahuofang river water ecological environment and the significance of protection, focusing on the ecological environment protection strategy, increasing project support, and actively applying ecological slope protection, Strengthen pollution prevention and control efforts, realize one area one world, scientific cultivation of aquatic plants, human ecological environment protection, so as to provide a solution direction for the exploration of river water ecological environment protection.

Water resources allocation in Erhai irrigated district considering catchment water-cycle health

In order to realize the healthy circulation of Erhai Basin water system, this paper constructs the Mike basin simulation model of Erhai Basin water resource system through the concept of water resource comprehensive allocation. Which is based on the principle of Erhai Lake water ecological environment protection and follows the principle of ecological priority, sanitary water into the lake, double control of total amount and consumption, and water conservation and emission reduction. The results show that agriculture irrigated area of Erhai Basin should be gradually reduced to 472000 mu, and 48200 mu of wetland ecological pool should be increased, which is used as the collection area of basin landscape and irrigation return water. After adjusting the crop planting pattern according to the depth of water saving in Erhai irrigation area, the goal of controlling the agricultural water consumption to be no more than 201 million cubic metre and the total water consumption to be less than 366 million cubic metre should be achieved. The effect of reclaimed water irrigation on water saving and emission reduction is considerable. The application of reclaimed water irrigation can reduce the amount of clean water used in paddy growth period by 46.4%, and the amount of nitrogen fertilizer applied by 30.2%. The replacement rate of garlic reclaimed water can reach 100%. After the comprehensive allocation of water resources, it can supply 501 million cubic metre of ecological water in the river channels and 359 million cubic metre of water out of the river channels. Through the comprehensive utilization project of farmland drainage water and the construction of ecological regulation and storage belt, all irrigation drainage water should be reused and zero discharge can be realized. TN and TP emissions in irrigated area will be reduced by 39.3% and 46.3% respectively. Compared with the current situation, Erhai Lake water inflow and cleanly water inflow increased by 65 million cubic metre and 134 million cubic metre respectively. The annual average water level of the lake will be 0.15m higher than the current situation.

Calculation of the instream ecological flow of Shifengxi River in Zhejiang Province, China using hydrology and section morphology analysis method

The instream ecological flow is one of the most important obligatory targets of water resources development and utilization, as it is the premise and basis for sustainable water resources development and water ecological environment protection. This paper proposed an instream ecological flow calculation method based on hydrology and section morphology analysis. The method had a certain concept of guarantee rate, and also considered the hydrological habitat requirements of the river section. The application of the method in Shifengxi river basin located in Taizhou city shows that the instream ecological flow of the Shaduan section is 14.0 m3/s during the spawning period and 3.1 m3/s during the normal period.

Water Ecological Environment Protection under Changing Environment: A Systematic Review and Bibliometric Analysis

The paper investigated the research status, development trend and hotspots of water ecological environment protection using bibliometric analysis. Based on bibliometric, mathematics and statistics, articles related to the water ecological environment protection in Web of Science for the period of 2008-2019 were selected. CiteSpace software was used to conduct the annual frequency analysis of papers, countries and research institutions analysis, co-occurring keywords analysis, clustering analysis and research frontier. Results show that: (1) The number of published papers and cited papers have increased for the past 12 years. Especially, the number of published papers has increased sharply since 2015, indicating that the research on water ecological environment protection has been transferred from the exploration stage to rapid development stage, which needs to be analyzed from the aspects of national policy. (2) China has more publications than other countries. The research institutions are mainly concentrated on universities, the cooperation among them is not close. It shows the characteristics of small distribution and large concentration. Keywords such as “model” and “water quality” are research hotspots. (3) The results of clustering analysis show that water ecological environment quality assessment, water and soil conservation, ecosystem services and aquatic ecosystem are four main research directions of water ecological environment protection. (4) Using method of burst detection, nine keywords are obtained, which indicate that water ecological environment protection has rich research perspectives. The burst strength of land use is high, it will become the research hotspot of water ecological environment protection in future. The results should be beneficial to systematically understand research progress and future trends of water ecologic environment under changing environment, and therefore it promotes ecological civilization construction.

Beidaihe Area Water Ecological Environment Protection

This paper makes a survey on water ecological environment of Beidaihe area of China. It analyzed the main factors influencing water ecological environment, including upstream section of river water quality; ecological runoff is not enough; breed unitary and overfishing; lack specialized management institutions. This paper put forward the measures and suggestions on water ecological environment protection: establishment transregional river pollution management mechanism; strengthen wetland protected area construction; develop the publicity channels and increase public awareness of ecological protection.

Research on Water Resources Vulnerability Evaluation Model Based on Extension Theory

Water resources vulnerability evaluation has important significance to guide the water resources management and water ecological environment protection. This paper builds the water resources vulnerability evaluation index system from three aspects of natural, human and bearing capacity and integrates matter-element theory with entropy weight to construct the matter-element extension evaluation model of water resources vulnerability. The area of Shandong Province is selected for study, and the proposed model and evaluation index system are applied to respectively evaluates the water resources vulnerability of each city, the results show that the proposed model has a efficient performance, and water resources vulnerability evaluated is higher in whole study area and varies significantly in space, moreover, the northwestern cities are higher, on the contrary, the southeastern cities are lower.
