Bottom-up construction and screening of algae-bacteria consortia for pollutant biodegradation.

Microbial communities have been used as important biological tools for a variety of purposes associated with agriculture, the food industry and human health. Artificial engineering of microbial communities is an emerging field of research motivated by finding stable and efficient microbial systems. However, the successful design of microbial communities with desirable functions not only requires profound understanding of microbial activities, but also needs efficient approaches to piece together the known microbial traits to give rise to more complex systems. This study demonstrates the bottom-up integration of environmentally isolated phototrophic microalgae and chemotrophic bacteria as artificial consortia to bio-degrade selected volatile organic compounds (VOCs). A high throughput screening method based on 96-well plate format was developed for discovering consortia with bioremediation potential. Screened exemplar consortia were verified for VOCs degradation performance, among these, certain robust consortia were estimated to have achieved efficiencies of 95.72% and 92.70% and near 100% removal (7 days) of benzene, toluene, and phenol, respectively, with initial concentrations of 100 mg/L. VOCs degradation by consortia was mainly attributed to certain bacteria including Rhodococcus erythropolis, and Cupriavidus metallidurans, and directly contributed to the growth of microalgae Coelastrella terrestris (R = 0.82, p < 0.001). This work revealed the potential of converting VOCs waste into algal biomass by algae-bacteria consortia constructed through a bottom-up approach. The screening method enables rapid shortlisting of consortia combinatorial scenarios without prior knowledge about the individual strains or the need for interpreting complex microbial interactions.

Enhancing air treatment through controlled fabrication of transition metal-doped titanium dioxide nanocomposites for photocatalytic toluene degradation

Rapid industrial growth and urbanization have resulted in a significant rise in environmental pollution issues, particularly indoor air pollutants. As a result, it is crucial to design and develop technologies and/or catalysts that are not only cost-effective but also promising high performance and practical applicability. However, achieving this goal has been so far remained a challenging task. Herein, a series of transition metal M − TiO2 (M = W, Fe, Mn) nanocrystals was prepared for photocatalytic degradation of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), i.e., toluene. Of the nanocomposites tested, W–TiO2 showed significantly improved photocatalytic activity for VOC degradation under UV irradiation compared to the others. In particular, the optimized W dopant amount of 0.5 wt% resulted in the outstanding degradation performance of toluene (96%) for the obtained W–TiO2(0.5%) nanocomposite. Moreover, W–TiO2(0.5%) nanocomposite exhibited good stability for 32 h working under high toluene concentration (10 ppm) compared to the pristine TiO2. The current work demonstrates the potential usage of M − TiO2 nanocrystals, particularly W–TiO2(0.5%), as a promising photocatalyst for efficient VOCs degradation.

Super-hydrophilic LaCoO3/g-C3N4 nanocomposite coated beauty sponge for solar-driven seawater desalination with simultaneous volatile organic compound removal.

Interfacial solar steam generation (ISSG) is emerging as a promising, environment-friendly solution for fulfilling freshwater and energy demands. However, a critical challenge for ISSG lies in the presence of harmful volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the feedwater which are co-evaporated with water, leading to more enriched concentration in condensed water. Herein, lanthanum cobaltate-graphitic carbon nitride (LaCoO3/g-C3N4, LCO/g-CN) nanocomposite decorated beauty sponge (LCO/g-CN@BS) is proposed as an efficient photothermal/photocatalytic material for solar-driven seawater desalination and simultaneous VOC degradation. The hydrophobic surface of the beauty sponge after LCO/g-CN coating becomes super-hydrophilic, ensuring sufficient water supply and our LCO/g-CN@BS delivers an evaporation rate of 1.94 kg m-2 h-1 under 1 sun irradiation. This LCO/g-CN@BS shows excellent seawater desalination capacity with a self-cleaning ability when employed for saltwater purification for a salt (NaCl) concentration as high as 15 wt%. Moreover, fast photocarrier transfer between LCO and g-CN leads to enhanced photocatalytic degradation of over 90% of phenol simultaneously, which is about 60% for only an LCO-based beauty sponge. This work presents a promising approach to combining novel nanocomposites with microporous structures for efficient solar desalination, offering simultaneous VOC degradation.

Monolithic Catalyst of Ni Foam-Supported MnOx for Boosting Magnetocaloric Oxidation of Toluene.

Catalytic oxidation has been considered an effective technique for volatile organic compound degradation. Development of metal foam-based monolithic catalysts coupling electromagnetic induction heating (EMIH) with efficiency and low energy is critical yet challenging in industrial applications. Herein, a Mn18.2-NF monolithic catalyst prepared by electrodeposition exhibited superior toluene catalytic activity under EMIH conditions, and the temperature of 90% toluene conversion decreased by 89 °C compared to that in resistance furnace heating. Relevant characterizations proved that the skin effect induced by EMIH encouraged activation of gaseous oxygen, leading to superior low-temperature redox properties of Mn18.2-NF under the EMIH condition. In situ Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy results showed that skin effect-induced activation of oxidizing species further accelerated the conversion of intermediates. As a result, the Mn18.2-NF monolithic catalyst under EMIH demonstrated remarkable performance for the toluene oxidation, surpassing the conventional nonprecious metal catalyst and other reported monolithic catalysts.

Enhanced photocatalytic performance of Mn-doped CeO2 nanoribbons for VOCs degradation: Investigating charge rearrangement and local electric field effects

In this study, we investigate Mn-doped CeO2 nanoribbons as photocatalysts to address the issue of performance enhancement in volatile organic compounds (VOCs) removal. Our primary focus centers on elucidating the interplay between charge rearrangement and local electric field (LEF) effects to uncover how these key factors collectively contribute to the improved photocatalytic performance. The successful doping of Mn atoms into the CeO2 lattice resulted in a strong dopant/matrix interaction effect. In situ XPS and density functional theory (DFT) calculations confirmed significant local charge rearrangement due to the dopant-induced local electric field, promoting charge carrier separation. The Mn dopant facilitated the generation of superoxide and hydroxide radicals. DFT simulations showed that Mn doping promoted VOCs adsorption on CeO2, favoring the subsequent oxidation process. The Mn-doped CeO2 nanoribbons achieved enhanced photodegradation performance of HCHO and CH3COCH3 compared to CeO2. This work aims to provide guidance and insights for the development of advanced photocatalysts.

Constructing Active Cu2+-O-Fe3+ Sites at the CuO-Fe3O4 Interface to Promote Activation of Surface Lattice Oxygen.

Activating surface lattice oxygen (Olatt) through the modulation of metal-oxygen bond strength has proven to be an effective route for facilitating the catalytic degradation of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Although this strategy has been implemented via the construction of the TM1-O-TM2 (TM represents a transition metal) structure in various reactions, the underlying principle requires exploration when using different TMs. Herein, the Cu2+-O-Fe3+ structure was created by developing CuO-Fe3O4 composites with enhanced interfacial effect, which exhibited superior catalytic activity to their counterparts, with T90 (the temperature of toluene conversion reaching 90%) decreasing by approximately 50 °C. Structural analyses and theoretical calculations demonstrated that the active Cu2+-O-Fe3+ sites at the CuO-Fe3O4 interface improved low-temperature reducibility and oxygen species activity. Particularly, X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy revealed the contraction and expansion of Cu-O and Fe-O bonds, respectively, which were responsible for the activation of the surface Olatt. A mechanistic study revealed that toluene can be oxidized by rapid dehydrogenation of methyl assisted by the highly active surface Olatt and subsequently undergo ring-opening and deep mineralization into CO2 following the Mars-van Krevelen mechanism. This study provided a novel strategy to explore interface-enhanced TM catalysts for efficient surface Olatt activation and VOCs abatement.

Efficient catalytic degradation of VOCs using Mn-based hydrotalcite-like compounds coupled with non-thermal plasma

Aiming to discover a novel catalyst that exhibits a high synergistic effect with plasma technology for the degradation of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), we employed manganese-based layered double hydroxides (LDHs), which are referred to as MMn-LDHs (M=Ni, Co, Fe). Comprehensive physicochemical characterization via catalyst characterization techniques such as XRD, SEM, XPS, BET, confirmed the successful synthesis of the catalysts. These analyses revealed excellent crystallinity, distinctive lamellar structure, and remarkable thermal stability for three synthesized catalysts. The experimental results demonstrate that post non-thermal plasma (post-NTP) catalytic system has significantly improved the degradation efficiency, CO2 selectivity, and carbon balance for toluene, while notably suppressing the formation of by-products (e.g., NOx and O3) compared to the NTP alone system. Among the three MMn-LDHs, NiMn-LDHs exhibited the best performance in the post-NTP-catalytic system, achieving a toluene degradation rate of 95.87%, a CO2 selectivity of 57.41%, a carbon balance of 79.86%, and an energy efficiency of 3.19 g·kWh−1 at a specific energy density (SED) of 930.45 J/L. The catalytic degradation mechanism of toluene was proposed based on a combination of catalyst characterization techniques, plasma emission spectroscopy, and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The findings revealed that plasma discharge generated a substantial amount of free radicals and active species, thereby promoting the decomposition of toluene. Subsequently, the residual toluene and intermediate products were adsorbed onto the catalysts, where they underwent further reacted with the abundant hydroxyl radicals and activate metal species on the catalyst surface, ultimately decomposing into CO2 and H2O. Additionally, the interaction of ozone with LDHs facilitated the generation of reactive oxygen species, consequently accelerating the decomposition of organic intermediates, formation of CO2, and the enhancement of toluene mineralization. The finding in this work offer valuable theoretical support for the plasma-catalytic degradation of VOCs.

The role of glutathione in stabilizing aromatic volatile organic compounds in Rougui Oolong tea: A comprehensive study from content to mechanisms

Chinese Oolong tea is widely known for its intricate aroma. However, the degradation of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) poses significant challenges for the tea products. In this study, glutathione (GSH) has an excellent preservation effect on VOCs in both the VOCs extract and the tea infusion during storage, specifically slowing the degradation of hexanal (by 66.39% and 35.09%) and heptanal (by 67.46% and 63.50%). Additionally, the addition of GSH maintained higher levels of active ingredients in tea infusion, including epigallocatechin, procyanidin B1, glutamic acid, and L-(+)-arginine, with respective increases of 184.09, 2.92, 4.10, and 6.35 times. The sulfhydryl group of GSH formed a covalent bond with hexanal and 2-methylbutanal, therefore improving the stability of VOCs. These findings provided a valuable insight for developing effective VOC preservation techniques for water-based tea products.

An SDBD plasma-based source for efficient degradation of VOCs in an enclosed environment

In this work, a surface dielectric barrier discharge (SDBD) plasma-based source powered by a bipolar pulsed power supply is reported. This source has been tested for the decomposition of toluene and benzene in an enclosed environment of size 12 ft3. Study has been performed to compare decomposition of toluene and benzene on various combinations of the applied voltages and frequencies. For about 60 min of continuous operation of the SDBD source, a decomposition efficiency of 99.7% (toluene) and 74.8% (benzene) has been achieved. For the effective generation of reactive species, the ground electrode of the SDBD source is coated with TiO2 nanoparticles. Optical emission spectroscopy diagnostic has also been used to estimate the electron temperature, which is found to be in the range of 3–6 eV. Consequently, the high energetic electrons produced via the SDBD source are the primary reason to activate the catalyst instead of ultra-violet (UV) light. The results further showed that the developed SDBD source produces powerful, immediate discharge and energetic electrons, which could be efficiently used for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) degradation. The need for feed gas, pellets and/or differential pressure has been eliminated by the developed SDBD source from the known conventional methods for VOCs decomposition.

Energy band matching Bi2WO6/black-TiO2 Z-scheme heterostructure for the enhanced visible-light photocatalytic degradation of toluene

By exploiting the distinct band alignment characteristics of various semiconductors, the Z-scheme heterostructure represents a significant method to improve the effectiveness of energy conversion processes. In this work, Bi2WO6/Black-TiO2 (BTB) compounds are developed using the hydrothermal method combined with sol-gel method. It is shown that the separation efficiency of photoinduced carriers on BTB is visibly raised via establishing a Z-scheme system with matched energy band structures. The surface carrier separation efficiency is closely related to photocatalytic activity. Under visible light, the degrading performance of toluene over BTB heterostructure is found to be markedly enhanced. BTB-3 exhibits the optimal photocatalytic activity of the group, achieving a toluene conversion of 90% after 120 min reaction, which is twice and 5.5 times larger than that of B-TiO2 and Bi2WO6, respectively. Furthermore, developing of BTB Z-scheme heterostructure can preserve the catalyst's initial redox capacity, thereby producing more significant active species, e.g., ·OH and ·O2−radicals, to efficiently decompose toluene. According to in-situ DRIFTS data, acids, aldehydes and alcohols are among the intermediates that are collected during various stages of toluene's photocatalytic breakdown. This work supplies a fresh, workable route for future photocatalytic volatile organic compounds degradation.

Boosting toluene deep oxidation by tuning metal-support interaction in MOF-derived Pd@ZrO2 catalysts: The role of interfacial interaction between Pd and ZrO2

The regulation of metal-support interaction is one of the productive strategies to enhance volatile organic compounds (VOCs) deep degradation. Herein, Pd@ZrO2 catalysts were synthesized via using in-situ growth Zr-based metal organic framework (MOF) Pd@UiO-66 as the precursor to boost toluene deep degradation. Compared with Pd@ZrO2-Zr(OH)4 synthesized by using Zr(OH)4 as the precursor, MOF-derived Pd@ZrO2 catalysts with different calcination time exhibited more superior catalytic performance, water-resistance and stability. Characterizations results indicated the occurrence of interfacial interaction in MOF-derived Pd@ZrO2 induced the better reducibility at low-temperature and the generation of oxygen vacancies, enhanced Oads species content, weakened Zr-O bond strength, improved the mobility of Olat species, which caused its better toluene degradation performance. Simultaneously, in-situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy results clarified that the interfacial interaction heightened the adsorption and activation ability for gaseous oxygen to form reactive oxygen species and replenish consumed Olat species, promoted toluene ring-opening reaction, reduced benzoate acid species cumulation, expedited the fast deeply degradation of toluene to CO2 and H2O. This work may provide a new perspective on MOF-derived catalysts with better performance for VOCs degradation deeply by tuning interfacial interaction.

G-C3N4/TiO2 for gas-phase formaldehyde photodegradation under visible light in the humidity control coatings

BackgroundsThe control of relative humidity and degradation of volatile organic compounds are regarded as major considerations in the enhancement of living quality in the indoor environment. From the viewpoints of circular economy, the valorization of inorganic wastes to prepare green building materials is crucial. MethodsFor the practical applications, the multifunctional coatings, applied in the indoor humidity control and photocatalytic degradation of formaldehyde, are prepared by recovering inorganic wastes (i.e., white carbon (WC) and spent fluid catalytic cracking catalysts (sFCCC)) and photocatalysts (graphitic carbon nitride/TiO2, denoted as GCN/TiO2) via a simple sol-gel method. Various physicochemical and analytic tools are used to characterize the coating properties and performance. Significant findingsCompared to commercial coatings, the prepared multifunctional coatings (i.e., W/B/S-47/47/6, where W, B and S represent the weight percentage (%) of white carbon, bassanite and sFCCC, respectively) have superior textural properties which can improve the buffering ability of indoor humidity. Moreover, the W/B/S-47/47/6 coatings exhibit the surpassing photodegradation of formaldehyde over commercial coatings by ca. 3 times. The higher charge transfer kinetics and greater thermodynamic driving force toward superoxide radical formation are responsible for the improved photocatalytic activity of W/B/S-47/47/6 coatings. According to the toxicity characteristic leaching procedure tests, no evident leaching heavy metals are observed, which provides an environmental-friendly and economical route for valorization of inorganic wastes.

Continuous near-complete photocatalytic degradation of toluene by V/N-doped TiO2 loaded on honeycomb ceramics under UV irradiation

Photocatalytic degradation of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) is a significant applying aspect of photocatalysis. Both the modulation of photocatalysts and the rational dispersion of them on supports are key for solar-driven VOC degradation. Conventional batch-type photoreactors have low efficiency while continuous-flow photoreactors suffer from the problem of incomplete removal of VOCs. Herein, aiming for continuous and complete degradation of toluene gas as the target contaminant, continuous-flow photocatalytic degradation reactors were made by adhering the vanadium and nitrogen codoped TiO2 on honeycomb ceramics (V/N-TiO2@HC) by a simple sol-gel method. In such a reactor, the rich ordered pores in the HC accelerate mass transport of toluene, and the introduction of V/N dopants narrows the bandgap and widens the light absorption range of TiO2, together resulting in continuous and nearly-complete photocatalytic degradation of toluene. The unique and stable structure of HC allows the photocatalysts to be reused. The degradation rate of toluene gas can reach 97.8%, and after 24 rounds of photocatalytic degradation, there is still a degradation rate of 96.7%. The impacts of loading times and gaseous flow rate on the photocatalytic performance of V/N-TiO2@HC are studied in detail. Our study provides a practical solution for the continuous and complete photocatalytic degradation of VOCs and opens a new application field for HC.

Promoting multiple reactive oxygen species generation for deep oxidation of VOCs by UV/persulfate/permanganate

Advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) could effectively remove volatile organic compounds (VOCs) when coupled with wet scrubbing process. However, it still faces challenges in achieving deep oxidation of VOCs due to the limited production of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Herein, we present the utilization of permanganate (KMnO4) as a co-oxidant to enhance VOCs oxidation in UV/persulfate (PDS)/KMnO4 system. The removal efficiency of a targeted VOC, toluene, kept high at above 90% throughout the entire long-term reaction of 4 h, which was much higher than that of UV/PDS and UV/KMnO4. Notably, the in-situ formed manganese oxide (MnOx) acts as a catalyst in UV/MnOx and UV/MnOx/PDS, facilitating the generation of various ROS and thereby enhancing VOCs degradation. Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) and quenching experiments indicated that sulfate radical (SO4−), hydroxyl radical (HO), superoxide radical (O2−) and singlet oxygen (1O2) were the main ROS generated in the UV/PDS/KMnO4 system. The overall oxidation process can be divided into three stages: the UV/KMnO4-dominated stage, the UV/MnOx/PDS-dominated stage, and the UV/MnOx-dominated stage. Correspondingly, HO played a major role in toluene oxidation in the UV/KMnO4-dominated and UV/MnOx-dominated stages, with the contributions of 48% and 52%, respectively. Meanwhile, SO4− played a more significant role in the UV/MnOx/PDS-dominated stage, with a contribution of 59%. Three main reaction pathways involving electron abstraction, HO addition and benzene ring opening were proposed based on the intermediates identified by proton-transfer-reaction mass spectrometry (PTR-MS). This study provided a deep understanding of KMnO4 in improving the oxidation capacity of UV-based AOPs for VOCs degradation, emphasizing the importance of in-situ formed MnOx for promoting multiple ROS generation.

Understanding of the synergy effect of DBD plasma discharge combined to photocatalysis in the case of Ethylbenzene removal: Interaction between plasma reactive species and catalyst

Hybrid non-thermal plasma combined with photocatalysis is an efficient technology for the degradation of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and leads to a synergetic boosting effect of the degradation process. Herein, the degradation of ethylbenzene (EB) in a hybrid lab-scale reactor was performed. In the combined mode (plasma DBD and photocatalysis [TiO2 + UVA]), the degradation of EB was synergetically boosted, and a higher degradation efficiency was reached. In this study, the behavior of the synergetic effect was investigated whilst varying several operational conditions, including the UV light source (UVA and UVC), the TiO2 weight (7.5–22.51 g·m-²), the addition of metallic dopants to the TiO2 at different weight ratios (x%Cu-TiO2 and x%MnO2-TiO2, where x = 1, 3, 5 and 10 for the weight ratios of Cu:TiO2 and MnO2:TiO2) and the catalyst support (glass fiber tissue [GFT] and nickel foam [NF] with different thicknesses [0.3–3.3 mm]). Moreover, the oxygen content (0–100%) in the reactor atmosphere was examined. The results showed an enhancement of the synergetic effect under UVC (TiO2 + UVC + DBD), which may be a consequence of intensive ozone decomposition under UVC and the generation of reactive atomic oxygen. The improvement of the synergetic effect under 1% Cu-TiO2 and 10% MnO2-TiO2 catalysts is assumed to reflect the role of metallic species in the production of oxygen species on the TiO2 surface via the ozone depletion mechanism. Furthermore, TiO2/NF (3.3 mm) showed the highest synergetic effect, likely due to the conductive character and the 3D porous structure of NF. Finally, the rich oxygen composition had an apparent impact on the synergetic effect.

Catalytic oxidation degradation of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) – a review

Abstract Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are considered one of the significant contributors to air pollution because they are toxic, difficult to remove, come from a wide range of sources, and can easily cause damage to the environment and human health. There is an urgent need for effective means to reduce their emissions. The current treatment technologies for VOCs include catalytic oxidation, adsorption, condensation, and recovery. Catalytic oxidation technology stands out among the others thanks to its high catalytic efficiency, low energy requirement, and lack of secondary pollution. The difficulty of this technology lies in the development of efficient catalysts. The research on loaded noble metal catalysts and non-noble metal oxide catalysts in this area over the past few years is briefly described in this work. Firstly, the catalytic destruction mechanism of organic volatile compounds is introduced. Secondly, the effects of structural modulation during catalytic oxidation, such as the adjustment of noble metal particle size and morphology, metal doping, and defect engineering, on the conformational relationships are discussed. Finally, the challenges faced by thermal catalytic oxidation for the degradation of VOCs are discussed, and the prospects for its development are presented.

Enhanced degradation of VOCs from biomass gasification catalyzed by Ni/HZSM-5 series catalyst

Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) evolved from biomass gasification plays a positive role in the formation of PM2.5 and odor pollution. In order to improve the removal rate of various VOCs produced by biomass gasification, a nickel-based supported HZSM-5 cataly st (Ni/HZSM-5 and Ni–Ca–Co/HZSM-5) was prepared by different auxiliary methods, Ni loadings, and pyrolysis temperatures. The catalytic cracking performance of Ni/HZSM-5 catalysts for different VOCs model compounds such as toluene, phenol, furan, acetic acid and cyclohexane were studied in a fixed-bed reactor. The catalysts were further characterized and analyzed by XRD, SEM, XPS and BET. The results showed that the Ni/HZSM--C-Co5 catalyst prepared by ultrasonic-assisted excess impregnation method with Ni loading of 8 wt%, Ca loading of 4 wt%, Co loading of 0.1 wt% had strong catalytic activity for VOCs degradation. With the increase of the cracking temperature, the conversion rate and gas yield of from model compound cracking improved significantly. At 800 °C, the conversion of each model compound was more than 90%, accompanied by the generation of cracking gases such as H2 and CH4. The selectivity of H2 and CH4 from toluene cracking reached 93%, and cyclohexane reached 98%. The models with higher oxygen content and lower bond energy were more likely to undergo reforming reaction to form small molecular gas. Model compounds with large molecular weight and high carbon content provided more carbon sources. Under the conversion degree towards the gas direction was high. This study provides a new idea on the removal of VOCs for the efficient utilization of biomass resources.

Self-powered exhaust gas purification by negative ions and photoelectric catalysis based on triboelectric nanogenerator

Industrial exhaust gas emissions have caused many environmental problems such as particulate matter (PM) pollution and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emissions, seriously endangering human’s health. Here, we demonstrate a new method for air purification and degradation of VOCs based on synergetic effects of electric-assisted photocatalysis and negative air ions generated by direct-current triboelectric nanogenerators (DC-TENG). The negative electrode of DC-TENG is connected to carbon fiber bundle (CFB) to generate negative air ions, while the positive electrode of DC-TENG is connected to dust collection board loaded with catalyst and can provide a bias electric field for photocatalysis, allowing VOCs to be adsorbed onto the collection board and accelerating the efficiency of photocatalytic degradation. Under the driving of DC-TENG, 1.1 × 1013 negative ions are generated by CFB per second, which can reduce PM2.5 concentration in a sealed box from 999 μg·m−3 to less than 50 μg·m−3 within 80 s. The proposed system combining negative ions and photoelectric catalysis can reduce formaldehyde concentration from 1.97 ppm to 0 ppm in 12 min, which is 2.4 times higher than the degradation rate of photocatalysis alone. This air purification system demonstrated here not only harvests the wasted environmental energies but also proposes a new strategy to sink particulate matter and degrade VOCs in the air, demonstrating a cleaner, more efficient, multifunctional, and self-powered exhaust gas treatment system that can provide new solutions for future air purification.
