AN ANALYSIS BEHAVIORAL OF MAIN CHARACTER IN HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE MOVIE DIRECTED BY MIKE NEWELL

The purpose of this study is to analyze behavioral of the main character in the film. The main character Harry in the film Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. The main behavior is seen from actions and emotions that are based on environment. Harry's character is a genius, all problem he goes make him developing charge of character and mental psychology. Problems do not only come from oneself but also from the environment and mental condition. Behavior that affects people around him, including himself. The impact of Harry's character behavior leads to psychology and sociology, especially in mental psychology, Harry's character becomes main character of each problem and plays a major role in the development of his own behavior. The main character is always entangled with his complicated behavior which makes him weak with his friends and environment, in the end the main character can develop even better. The purpose of this study is to provide information about the behavior of the main character which has been analyzed from the point of view of psychology and sociology.

An empirical analysis of double reduction education policy based on public psychology.

To effectively reduce the homework burden and off-campus training burden of students in the compulsory education stage in China, China adopts the double reduction policy to carry out corresponding governance in the field of education. This study aims to explore the public's psychological cognition of the current education system under the implementation of the double reduction policy. The public's opinion data on education concepts under the implementation of the double reduction policy are collected, then the SPSS software and Amos software to quantitatively analyze the public's educational concept data are used, and a corresponding structural model equation to analyze the public's opinion on the implementation of the double reduction policy is established. The psychological concepts of all aspects of education are observed, the public's psychological views on education under the implementation of the double reduction policy are finally obtained, the ideological connotation of popularizing the double reduction policy for the general public is provided, and the balanced development of the domestic education system for the implementation of the double reduction policy is ensured. Two suggestions are made in order to provide a corresponding reference for the public's psychological cognition research on the current education system under the implementation of the double reduction policy.

Flip the Tweet – The Two-Sided Coin of Entrepreneurial Empathy

Is empathy merely a good thing for entrepreneurs? In contrast to the hitherto predominantly positive view in entrepreneurship literature, psychology and management scholars have recently adopted a more critical perspective. Transferring their findings, we provide a novel “too-much-of-a-good-thing” perspective on entrepreneurial empathy. We test our model against a dataset of 4,725 real entrepreneurs and demonstrate that empathy influences opportunity recognition, evaluation and exploitation in an inverted U-shaped pattern. We also show that these exploited opportunities then lead to higher amounts of achieved financial resources. These findings provide strong evidence for considering entrepreneurial empathy an important but highly ambiguous success factor.

Perceived LGBT-supportive HR System and LGBT Employees’ Voice: The Psychological Ownership View

Voice behaviors of invisible sexual minorities, such as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and individuals whose gender expressions fall outside of heterosexual norms (LGBT), have received scant attention in prior research. Based on the psychological ownership (PO) perspective, the current study investigates the relationships among perceived LGBT-supportive HR system, LGBT employees’ PO, and their voice. Moreover, grounded on the situational strength and leadership literature, this study examines the boundary conditions of the perceived strength of an LGBT-supportive HR system and leader inclusiveness of the relationship between perceived LGBT-supportive HR system and LGBT employees’ voice. Data collected from LGBT employees in three waves show that PO can mediate the influence of perceived LGBT-supportive HR system on LGBT employees’ voice. In addition, the perceived strength of an LGBT-supportive HR system moderates the relationship between perceived LGBT-supportive HR system and PO in the first stage, while leader inclusiveness moderates the PO–voice relationship in the second stage. Overall, the perceived strength of an LGBT-supportive HR system and leader inclusiveness together strengthen the PO mechanism. Theoretical and managerial implications are also discussed.

Adapting the protocol for narrative exposure therapy for adults with mild intellectual disabilities

AbstractBackgroundNarrative exposure therapy (NET) is a trauma‐focused cognitive behavioural therapy, recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence in 2018, to treat posttraumatic stress disorder in adults. There is a lack of research exploring the effectiveness of NET with adults with intellectual disabilities. The aim of this study is to develop an adapted version of the NET protocol (IDNET) for use with adults with mild intellectual disability.MethodsA qualitative research design was employed. Stage one involved systematically adapting the NET protocol for adults with mild intellectual disabilities in collaboration with a service user group comprising eight consultants. Stage two involved gaining professionals' views on the adapted protocol and on the use of NET in intellectual disability services. This comprised a focus group of eight clinical psychologists specialising in intellectual disabilities and an expert panel of three NET clinicians. The framework approach was conducted on the focus group data only following guidance from a previous study.FindingsAn adapted NET protocol and collection of ‘easy read’ therapy materials were developed (IDNET), which incorporated feedback from the three stakeholder groups. Key concepts of ‘Optimism and motivation to adapt NET for people with mild intellectual disabilities’ and ‘Factors related to NET in practice’ were developed to describe the views of clinical psychologists. A number of issues were raised by professionals regarding the delivery of IDNET.ConclusionsProfessionals were optimistic about IDNET; however, issues raised regarding the delivery of IDNET require exploration when IDNET is trialled in practice. Specific implications for clinical practice and future research are discussed.

Experiences and views of clinical psychologists working in non-urban areas of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa

The process of integrating mental health care into primary health care remains slow in many non-urban areas of low to middle-income countries. The present study explored clinical psychologists’ experiences of working in non-urban areas of KwaZulu-Natal to assess the progress of integrating mental health into primary health care. Twenty-nine clinical psychologists participated in this study and provided input on the following areas: clinical psychologists’ preparedness, through training, to work in resource-constrained non-urban areas; availability of mental health resources; and understanding of the clinical psychologists’ role in their work context. Over half (51.7%) of the participants reported that their training did not prepare them to work in resource-constrained non-urban areas and more than two-thirds (72.4%) reported a lack of basic resources needed for optimal mental health care in non-urban areas of KwaZulu-Natal. The findings reflect the need for comprehensive training of clinical psychologists to enhance their competency and confidence to work in resource-constrained settings. Furthermore, investment in the promotion of clinical psychology services and more conducive mental health service environments is necessary.

Introduction: the paper discusses the psychological foundations of legal nihilism through the prism of law as a socio-cultural and psychological integrity. The purpose of the study is to analyze legal nihilism from the point of view of legal psychology and to determine the ways to overcome the psychological deformation of legal consciousness. Objectives of the work: to identify the factors that generate psychological deformation of legal consciousness, to determine the role of legal mentality and psychological dominant in the formation of legal nihilism, to characterize the role of intuitive law in the perception and implementation of positive law, to identify the main directions of the educational process to overcome this negative phenomenon. Methods: dialectical-materialistic, synergetic, interdisciplinary, analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, interpretation of law, legal modeling. Results: legal nihilism has deep conscious-unconscious psychological foundations of deformed legal consciousness associated with the implementation of dominant attitudes, emotional experiences and forms of psychological protection. Due in law becomes an actual legal regulator only if the individual’s psyche passes and accepts his internalization. Otherwise, the law, as a rational-imperative rule, will cause psychological opposition to implementation. Conclusions: ignoring the psychological component of the state policy in the field of legal education and legal realization against the background of the aggravation of military danger, external isolation, sanctions policy, pandemic, falling living standards of the population will lead to an increase in legal nihilism. The way out is the legalization and legitimization of power, the improvement of the democratic and social orientation of the state through the investment support of the state, the innovative restructuring of the economic mechanism, the consolidation of society around the state power, increasing the level of psychological culture of educational and disciplinary processes.

Training of future psychologists on suicide prevention among adolescents based on work with parents

The aim of this study is to reveal the views of future psychologists on the training of suicide prevention among adolescents based on work with parents. The study was designed with a phenomenology pattern. The study data were collected with a semi-structured interview form prepared with questions suitable for the purpose of the study. The sample of the study consisted of psychologist candidates studying in Kazakhstan. As a result of the research, among the answers given to the question about the causes of suicide in adolescents were family, loneliness, hopelessness, psychological problems and temperament, and most of the participants answered psychological problems. Among the answers given to the question about determining what should be done in order to prevent suicide in adolescents based on working with parents were family education, early diagnosis, guidance of adolescents, prevention of alcohol and substance consumption, and the majority of the participants answered family education. The majority of the participants in the closed-ended question about the determination of the proficiency of future psychologists in preventing suicide in adolescents based on working with parents stated ‘I definitely do not find it sufficient’. Among the answers given to the question about increasing efficacy in preventing suicide in adolescents based on working with parents were in-service trainings, experience and practice for disadvantaged groups, and the majority of the participants answered the question as in-service trainings.

Basic Human Values, Right-Wing Authoritarianism and Psychological Well-Being Among University Students

The present study aimed to measure the relationship between basic human values, right-wing authoritarianism and psychological well-being among university students. The Portrait Values Questionnaire (Schwartz, 2003), Right-Wing Authoritarianism Scale (Altemeyer, 2006) and Ryff’s Psychological Well-Being Scale (Ryff & Keyes, 1995) were used to collect data. Sample comprised of 250 students including (men = 55, women = 195) from different universities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The findings indicated that positive relationship existed between two orthogonal (openness to change vs. conservation & self-transcendence vs. self-enhancement) of basic values and psychological well-being and negative relationship was found between right-wing authoritarianism and two orthogonal dimensions (openness to change vs conservation & self-transcendence vs self-enhancement) of values. It was also observed that positive relationship exists between right-wing authoritarianism and psychological well-being. Nonsignificant gender differences were found on given study variables. The results of the given study can provide help in the educational sector for devising programs that can help inculcating certain values in the students in result enhancing their psychological well-being and general view of life.

P-492 Characteristics of the psychological care service in Italian ART centres: the point of view of physicians, psychologists and couples

Abstract Study question What is the point of view of physicians, psychologists and patients on the characteristics of the psychological assistance offered by Italian ART centres? Summary answer Physicians, psychologists and patients alike affirm the importance of specialised psychological support during ART treatment What is known already The European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) has produced specific recommendations, establishing that all staff members should share the responsibility related to patients’ psychological wellbeing through their treatments. Moreover, when patients show increased risk of negative consequences some specialized services, as psychological counseling or psychotherapy, should be provided. In Italy, the Law 40/2004 regulates ART treatment and also provides the “Guidelines for the application of Assisted Reproductive Technology” (2008, 2015). According to this law, psychological support for women and couples undergoing ART procedures at any step of medical treatment (before, during, after the treatment) should be routinely included. Study design, size, duration To explore opinions on the characteristics of the psychological support service in ART centres: An online questionnaire was sent to the physicians in charge of 341 ART centres. 5 focus groups with psychologists working in ART centres were carried out. An online questionnaire for patients was sent to 195 centres and 8 patient associations. The surveys were conducted over a period from January 2020 to October 2021. Participants/materials, setting, methods Physicians from 113 centres (37%) responded to questionnaires composed of 20 closed-ended and 6 open-ended questions; 28 psychologists working in ART centres in 3 italian regions participated in focus groups with 3 open-ended questions; and 324 patients responded to questionnaires composed of 19 closed-ended and 8 open-ended questions. The questionnaires were created ad hoc for the surveys starting from the characteristics of the services offered in Italian ART centers. Main results and the role of chance Physicians affirm the importance of the psychologist in the ART centre to support their work: managing couples’ emotional difficulties; improving couples’ mood; and reducing couples’ stress (9% of answers). They also ask for an effective psychological intervention protocol to adopt. Concerning the characteristics of psychological services, physicians do not identify priority areas of intervention, but they admit the usefulness of psychological intervention throughout the treatment. Most physicians admit the utility of psychological counseling as defined by the 2015 Guidelines. Psychologists would like more recognition of their function and they affirm the positive contribution of networking among ART psychologists, believing that specific training is needed to work in the field. The psychologists find that multidisciplinary work in the team is functional and improves the quality of service offered in this field. Patients say that ongoing psychological support throughout the treatment could be helpful for them. They believe that psychologists should have specific training in ART and they would like the cost of psychological support to be included in ART treatment. They argue that psychological support should help their relationship with physicians. Despite this, the psychologist is a stable professional figure in only half of the responding ART Centres (47%). Limitations, reasons for caution Physicians’ opinions are based on a 37% response rate from ART centres and cannot be considered conclusive. The 5 focus groups were conducted with psychologists working in ART centres located in only three Italian regions. There were few responses from male patients. Wider implications of the findings In conclusion, despite the scarce presence of psychological support in ART centres, physicians, psychologists and patients believe that it would be mportant throughout ART treatment. This highlights the importance of further investigation with the aim of sharing information to establish common protocols for psychological interventions in italian ART centres. Against Aggression? Revisiting an Overlooked Contender for Moral Bioenhancement

In moral bioenhancement (MBE) discourse, aggression has been identified as one potential target of biomedical intervention. Early suggestions that aggression might be modulated to improve moral outcomes were met with strong opposition from those claiming it is impossible to modulate aggression without harming traits of distinct social and agential value. If we are to preclude (or endorse) particular paths to moral enhancement then we ought to establish sound reasons for doing so. However, in paying due consideration to contemporary aggression studies we will see that current efforts to rule out aggression as one such path are untenable. I argue that the rejection of aggression-reduction as a viable target of MBE is a mistake, and that this arises from a rudimentary view of aggression which is incompatible with current scientific consensus. Drawing on contemporary psychological views I argue that it is necessary to distinguish subtypes of aggression, and that once these distinctions are recognised there is a potential space for MBE to target the biological correlates of specific kinds of aggressive behaviour. Ultimately, I suggest that aggression remains a legitimate target of inquiry, and that mitigating deleterious manifestations may yet offer one prospect for MBE.

Psychological Safety at Local Union Meetings: A Key to Unlock Meeting Attendance

We take a psychological view of local union meetings in reference to the problem of chronic low meeting attendance. This view suggests that local meetings are designed to encourage employees to experience safe environments in which they can strive to fulfill psychological needs, examples of which include a need to voice concerns and opinions, a need to participate in decision-making, and a need to be counted as a valued contributor to “our collective effort.” As such, we constructed a model to predict likely meeting attendance informed by literatures on team effectiveness, meeting design, and union participation. Extracting relationships from the cited literature relevant to local meetings, we positioned psychological safety experienced at meetings as a predictor of likely attendance in the next 12 months, with meeting effectiveness as rated by attending employees positioned as a mediator of the relationship. A test of the mediated model based on data collected from employees in 20 unions and 42 locals (N = 132) suggested support for the model, in which the effect of psychological safety on likely attendance was shown to unfold through meeting effectiveness. Future models of local attendance are discussed and an intervention aimed at solving the attendance problem is suggested.

Utility of different modalities in treatment of keloid scar

Background : Keloids constitute an abnormal benign fibro-proliferative wound healing response to any type of skin injury. it has high influence on Patient’s psychology and cosmetic view. It has high prevalence in African-American subjects. Until now there is no definitive treatment. The aim of study : to assess the response in three different groups using three different modalities (intralesional steroid, cryotherapy, and both). Patient and method : This was a randomized controlled clinical method with equivalent intervention assignment study, which was done on 16 patients (105 lesions), who attended Ibn Sina Teaching hospital, Mosul, Iraq, from January 2019 to January 2021. Results : there were significant responses to the three modalities (p-value less than 0.05). and the response assessed for each patient according to Vancouver Score Scale (VSS), Patient and Observer Scar Assessment Scale (POSAS), and 2 diameters assess. Conclusion: The results of this study showed that the combination of cryotherapy with intralesional steroids is more effective than steroid or cryotherapy alone in treating keloids.

A look at Albert Einstein’s question “why war?” with a focus on large-group psychology

ABSTRACT There are observable realistic factors – economic, legal and political – that contribute to initiating and maintaining international conflicts, including starting wars. Behind such factors there are also various psychological elements. This paper recalls correspondence between Albert Einstein and Sigmund Freud and Freud’s pessimistic response to the question “Why War?” and explores this question from the point of view of large-group psychology. The term “large group” describes thousands or millions of people, most of whom never see or even know about each other as individuals, but who share many of the same sentiments and the same realistic or fantasied ancestral history. This paper defines a concept, “large-group identity”, and describes how protecting it plays a key role in maintaining and even initiating war-like situations or wars. This paper also considers the psychological make-up of a decision-maker with political power who encourages war.

Psychological Counselor Views on What Happened during the Covid-19 Process

Türkiye’de bu dönemde izolasyon amacıyla birçok kurumla birlikte okullar da kapatılmış ve eğitim-öğretimde, uzaktan eğitime geçilmiştir. Durumdan rehberlik ve psikolojik danışma hizmetleri de etkilenmiştir. Araştırmayla Covid-19’un rehberlik ve psikolojik danışma hizmetlerine etkisinin, psikolojik danışmanların görüşlerine göre incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmada nitel araştırma türlerinden görüngübilim, amaçsal örneklem türlerinden maksimum çeşitlilik örnekleme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmaya farklı sınıf düzeylerinde çalışan 15 psikolojik danışman katılmıştır. Görüşmelerden toplanan veriler içerik analiziyle incelenmiştir. Ulaşılan verilerle kategoriler-kodlar belirlenmiş, bu doğrultuda psikolojik danışmanların görüşleri 5 başlıkta incelenmiştir. Süreçte bakanlığın talepleriyle gerçekleştirilen hizmetler 8 kategoride incelenmiştir. Bunlar bilgi toplama-yayma, program geliştirme-hazırlama-uygulama hizmetlerinde ağırlık göstermiştir. Bakanlık talepleri dışında gerçekleştirilen hizmetler 8 kategoride incelenmiştir. Bunlar bilgi toplama-yayma, müşavirlik hizmetlerinde yoğunlaşmıştır. Karşılaşılan sorunlar 8 kategori olarak belirlenmiştir. Bunlar bilgi toplama-yaymayla ilişkili ve mesleğe yönelik sorunlarda ağırlık göstermiştir. Sorunlara yönelik çözüm önerileri 5 kategoride incelenmiştir. Öneriler, bilgi toplama-yaymayla ilişkili ve mesleğe yönelik çözüm önerilerinde yoğunlaşmıştır.

I Know It Is Not Real (And That Matters) Media Awareness vs. Presence in a Parallel Processing Account of the VR Experience

Inspired by the widely recognized idea that in VR/XR, not only presence but also encountered plausibility is relevant (Slater, Phil. Trans. R. Soc. B, 2009, 364 (1535), 3549–3557), we propose a general psychological parallel processing account to explain users’ VR and XR experience. The model adopts a broad psychological view by building on interdisciplinary literature on the dualistic nature of perceiving and experiencing (mediated) representations. It proposes that perceptual sensations like presence are paralleled by users’ belief that “this is not really happening,” which we refer to asmedia awareness. We review the developmental underpinnings of basic media awareness, and argue that it is triggered in users’ conscious exposure to VR/XR. During exposure, the salience of media awareness can vary dynamically due to factors like encountered sensory and semantic (in)consistencies. Our account sketches media awareness and presence as two parallel processes that together define a situation as a media exposure situation. We also review potential joint effects on subsequent psychological and behavioral responses that characterize the user experience in VR/XR. We conclude the article with a programmatic outlook on testable assumptions and open questions for future research.

The epistemology of thought experiments without exceptionalist ingredients

This paper argues for two interrelated claims. The first is that the most innovative contribution of Timothy Williamson, Herman Cappelen, and Max Deutsch (a.k.a., the intuition deniers) in the debate about the epistemology of thought experiments is not the denial of intuition and the claim of the irrelevance of experimental philosophy but the claim of epistemological continuity and the rejection of philosophical exceptionalism. The second is that a better way of implementing the claim of epistemological continuity is not Deutsch and Cappelen’s argument view or Williamson’s folk psychological view (i.e., off-line simulation). This is so because while the argument view makes the basis of the relevant classificational judgement evidentially too demanding; the folk psychological view makes it too weak and error-prone to count as an adequate explanation. Drawing from a certain reading of Aristotle’s Nichomachean Ethics that flowers in Miranda Fricker and John McDowell, I argue for the reason-responsiveness view. Like the extant views, the reason-responsiveness view vindicates the claim of epistemological continuity. But unlike the extant views, it does not share those problematic features. Further, I show that the reason-responsiveness view offers a way for champions of the claim of epistemological continuity to resist Avner Baz’s objection to the claim of epistemological continuity and his objection to the philosophical use of thought experiments while taking on board some attractive elements of his view.

 Stepanos Lehatsy is one of Armenia's greatest thinkers of the 17th century He is the author of many translations of philosophical works of worldwide significance, among which the most important are "Metaphysics" and "On the Soul" of Aristotle, together with the translator's comments, four famous works of Dionysius the Areopagite, "Jewish War” of Flavius Josephus, also Ecclesiasticus ("The Book of Sirach"), "The Quran" and other translations. Of his own philosophical works, “Banq imastasirakanq ev astvatsabanakanq hamarotabar ibr sahmanoren artadrealq ev havaqealq yst aybubeni” (“Philosophical-theological words, which are written in summary, that is, separated, grouped in alphabetical order", in Old Armenian (Grabar)) is a great value volume dictionary, in which apart from the philosophical, theological, ethical and aesthetic issues also psychological problems are discussed. 
 From a psychological point of view, the most interesting is the theory of knowledge of Stepanos Lehatsy. Understandings on the human soul and will are also given in his psychological views.
