Intimate partner violence (IPV) is an issue known to impact all populations. Historically, services and advocacy in the United States have focused on heterosexual women. This has led to a lack of services for heterosexual men and LGBTQ victims and their underrepresentation within victim service providers’ (VSPs) informational materials and programming. Using discourse analytical methods, this study assessed representations of victims and perpetrators of abuse within 80 VSPs’ materials throughout the U.S. Analyses indicated that VSPs present information on heterosexual women over heterosexual men and LGBTQ victims, which is guided by discursive frames that place emphasis on heterosexual women’s victimhood.
