This volume announces a projected series aimed at thorough analysis of various areas of interest to students of diseases affecting children, including both pediatricians and pathologists. There is no question of the valuable role such a series can fulfill. For example, three articles cover aspects of hereditary, acquired and neoplastic renal disease; three deal with normal and aberrant bodily defense; three are discussions of particular areas of malformation (and include a most provocative discussion of tracheobronchial abnormalities, itself worth the price of admission).
