Production analysis of corn farming (Zea mays L) in the Bumi Beringin Village, North Luwuk District, Banggai Regency

Corn is a food commodity that is widely cultivated in Bumi Beringin Village. To get high corn production, it is necessary to utilize optimal production factors. This study aims to determine the effect of land area, the number of seeds, amount of fertilizer, and number of workers on maize production (Zea mays L), and the correlation between maize farming in Bumi Beringin Village, North Luwuk District. This research was carried out from March to May 2021. The respondents' determination was carried out using a saturated sampling method or census where 22 farmers did corn farming. The analysis used is the Cobb-Douglas production function with variables of land area (X1), the number of seeds (X2), amount of fertilizer (X3), and number of workers (X4), and corn production (Y). The analysis results obtained multiple correlation coefficient values of 0.99%, indicating that corn production with production factors (land area, seeds, fertilizers and workers) has a very strong relationship with a relationship level of 99%.

Gender Differences in Heart Rhythm Normalization in Young Sportsman After Test Physical Activities

Aim. To find gender differences in the heart rate normalization of young athletes in the rapid phase of recovery after test physical activities. Materials and methods. In 60 young biathletes and skiers of 13-18 years old (33 boys and 27 girls) were studied indices of heart rate normalization, heart rate variability calculated by the exponential equation depending on sex. Comparison of the results was carried out after sub-maximum cycle ergometric loads of 2.5 W/kg carried out during 3 min and loads until the work was done, dosed to 1 kgof body weight (4 W/kg for boys and 3.5 W/kg for girls). Load testing was performed in a sitting position on a «Lode» ergometer (Netherlands)with continuous recording of spiro ergometric indices on «Cortex» system and each heart cycle duration on «Polar RS800»system. The maximum mechanical performance was calculated using the Mueller equation in 0.5 and 6 minutes. We determined: HPI values when performing test physical exercises in young men and women; anaerobic (PWCmx0.5) and aerobic capabilities (PWCmx6)of young athletes depending on gender. Results. Analysis of the heart rate in boys and girls in the phase of rapid recovery after the test physical activity was showed that after sub-maximum load, dosed per kilogram of body weight of boys have an advantage in the nature of normalization of the heart rate.They have a higher rate of HRV reduction in relative terms, given the potential for heart rate reduction; faster recovery of HRV; indicators of the exponential equation (large residual dispersion of its ratio to total dispersion, lower values of multiple correlation coefficient in young men) also indicate their advantage in the nature of recovery. After performing the load before the refusal of work was not determined by gender differences in not one of the indicators of heart rate normalization in the phase of rapid recovery. Conclusions: boys have higher rate of HRV reduction in relative values, taking into account potential heart rate reduction; faster HRV recovery; exponential equation indices (higher residual dispersion of its ratio to total dispersion, lower values of multiple correlation coefficient) also indicate the advantage of boys in character of recovery after sub-maximum load. More frequent heart rate and more pronounced reduction of HRV in girls, at the end of sub-maximum load, and slower normalization of different heart rates indices are associated with lower aerobic performance capabilities. No gender differences were identified in anyof the heart rate normalization rates during the rapid recovery phase after the pre-dropout phase.

This study aims to determine the effect of compensation on the performance of employees of PT. Jaya Jaya Utama. This study aims to determine the effect of motivation on the performance of PT.Tunas Jaya Utama employees. This study has the aim to determine the effect of compensation and motivation on the performance of PT.Tunas Jaya Utama employees.
 The population of this research is 32 employees of PT. Tunas Jaya Utama.
 Data collection techniques in this study were interviews, documentary studies and questionnaires, while the data analysis techniques used were the classic assumption test, multiple regression, T test, F test, and the coefficient of determination.
 There is an effect of compensation and motivation on employee performance at PT. Tunas Jaya Utama where the count is 0.349. The multiple correlation coefficient values ​​together between motivation and workload on performance obtained Rx1x2y = 0.723. This positive value means that if compensation and motivation are increased the performance will increase. From the F test it was obtained 15,853 with sig 0,000 <0,05, indicating that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted, meaning compensation (X1) and motivation (X2) had a significant effect on performance (Y) at the 0.05 level. The coefficient of determination obtained (R-Square) is 0.522 or 52.20%, indicating that around 52.20% the variable Y can be explained by the compensation variable (X1) and motivation (X2) or practically it can be said that the contribution of compensation (X1) and motivation (X2) on performance (Y) is 52.20%, the rest is influenced by other variables not examined.

Analysis of the Influence of Socio-Economic Factors on Occupational Safety in the Construction Industry

The purpose of the article was to identify the socio-economic factors generated in a construction environment, which affect the number of accidents at a construction site. Moreover, the objective was to construct a mathematical model that correlates selected factors with the number of employees injured in accidents at work at a construction site, and also to estimate the influence of the identified factors on the level of occupational safety. Based on the analysis of the literature, it was stated that there are no studies describing the impact of socio-economic factors on accident rates in construction. The research included 104 factors that characterize the production value, the potential of enterprises, the generic structure of entities, and also employment and its volatility in the construction industry. In order to solve the problem, multiple regression analysis, available in the Statistica software, was applied. The developed mathematical multifactor model reflects empirical values very well, which was confirmed by the values of multiple correlation coefficients, the coefficient of determination, the adjusted coefficient of determination, as well as the mean square error and root mean square error. The construction of the model does not include qualitative factors, e.g., factors that describe the level of safety culture in the society. The developed model was used to determine the number of people injured in accidents at work. The model has certain limitations regarding its applicability. The model was developed for four selected Polish voivodeships that have a similar level of economic development and occupational safety.

Peranan Keputusan Investasi dan Pendanaan Pengaruhnya Terhadap Nilai Perusahaan Melalui Kinerja Keuangan

Abstract
 Enterprise value is important to the company because it describes the welfare of the owner. Implementation of prudent and appropriate financial management functions will have an impact on company value. Financial decisions in the view of financial management include investment decisions, funding, and dividends. This study aims to determine the effect of investment decisions and funding decisions directly and indirectly, partially or simultaneously to the financial performance and value of manufacturing companies in Indonesia. The number of samples is 22 consumer goods manufacturing companies that routinely publish financial reports during the study period. The results showed that partially only investment decisions that affect the financial performance and corporate value. Simultaneously significant effect on financial performance and firm value. The value of multiple correlation coefficient (R) is 0.953 with significance 0.000, which means there is significant relationship with firm value. While the value of determination coefficient (R square) of 0.908 or 90.8% means investment decisions and financing decisions are able to explain the effect on corporate value variables together 90.8% and the rest of 9.2% explained by other variables.

Influence of The Ratio of Profit Margin, Financial Leverage Ratio, Current Ratio, Quick Ratio Against The Conditions and Financial Distress

Financial distress is occurred before bankruptcy. This condition could be predicted by analyzing Financial Statement. This study aims to determine whether there is significant influence between profit margin ratio, financial leverage ratio, current ratio, and quick ratio on Financial distress to determine how much their influeance on Financial distress in a Company. Based on result of data processing using SPSS 17.0 version, the author obtained value of multiple correlation coeffiicient in 2008 is 0.933 (R), it means X1 (profit margin ratio), X2 (financial leverage ratio), X3 (current ratio) and X4 (quick ratio) jointly have strong and positive relationship in predicting Financial distress, And for value of multiple correlation coefficient in 2009, obtained 0.582 (R), it means X1 (profit margin ratio), X2 (financial leverage ratio), X3 (current ratio) and X4 (quick ratio) jointly have strong and positive relationship in predicting Financial distress. Based on F-test calculation in 2008, multiple linear regression is obtained that Fhitung > Ftable. Value of Fhitung is 40,962, whereas value of Ftable is 2,922, it means that Ha is rejected and Ho is accepted. This means regression model can be used to predict financial distress condition or it can be said that X1 (profit margin ratio), X2 (financial leverage ratio), X3 (current ratio) and X4 (quick ratio) jointly influence significanly on Company’s Financial Statement condition (Y). whereas for F-test calculation in 2009, multiple linear regression is obtained that Fhitung > Ftable , value of Fhitung is 13,839 and value of Ftable is 2,922. it means that Ha is rejected and Ho is accepted. This means regression model can be used to predict financial distress condition or it can be said that X1 (profit margin ratio), X2 (financial leverage ratio), X3 (current ratio) and X4 (quick ratio) jointly influence significantly on Company’s Financial Statement condition (Y).

IMBALAN DAN GAYA KEPEMIMPINAN PENGARUHNYA TERHADAP KEPUASAN KERJA KARYAWAN DI BALAI BESAR INDUSTRI HASIL PERTANIAN BOGOR

The study was carried out to find out whether there were influence and correlation bet-ween : a) Reward received by the IRDABI’s employees on their job satisfaction. b) style of the leader-ship on the job satisfaction. c) Reward together with style of leadership on the job satisfaction of IR-DABI’s employees.The result of the study showed that there was significant correlation and influence between the reward on the job satisfaction with was shown by the value of partial correlation coefficient of 0.6185 and coefficient of multiple regression for reward variable (β1) of 0.412. The influence of variable for style of leadership on the job satisfaction was also significant with the partial correlation coefficient of 0.5495 and coefficient of multiple regression (β2) of 0.355.In the test of Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) on the equation of multiple regression show that F-value was bigger that F-table (F = 58.97 > F-table = 3.098) or the Probability Value smaller than 0.05. At showed that there was significant correlation and influence between reward variables all together with style of leadership on the job satisfaction of employees. The value of multiple correlation coefficient (R) was 0.751 and R Square (R2) was 0.564. Value of R Square (0.564) meant that 56.5% of variation pro-portion total of job satisfaction can be eliminated of equation of multiple regression was used as the es-timator rather than using average value of job satisfaction as the estimator.

Application of High Performance Liquid Chromatography to the Analysis of Pesticide Residues in Apple Juice

Summary The modern apple production involves the use of large amounts of pesticides that can be found in processed products such as apple juice. Harmful effects of pesticide residues on humans, especially children, are well known, hence the content of pesticide residues in fruit, vegetables and their juices should be controlled. This study presents an application of a new, relatively simple and reliable analytical method for qualitative and quantitative determination of three organophosphorus and one organonitrogen pesticide residues in apple juices. The analysis utilizes reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) followed by UV diode array detection. Prior to HPLC analysis, a solid-phase extraction (SPE) was used for analytes concentration and sample clean-up. Specificity, selectivity, linearity, precision, accuracy and limit of quantification (LOQ) were examined to assess the validity of the developed method. The method had satisfactory values of multiple correlation coefficients for calibration curves (R2 ≥ 0.95 ). The precision was evaluated for the retention times and peak areas, and the estimated values for relative standard deviations (RSD) were 0.05 % - 0.18 % and 0.09 % - 0.62 %, respectively, which indicated an excellent precision of the proposed method. Under the established conditions, the recovery of analytes was 93.80 % - 119.41 %, with relative standard deviations below 0.56 %. This method was successfully applied for determination of some organophosphorus and organonitrogen pesticide residues in apple juices which were taken from Macedonian markets. The achieved values for LOQs were low enough compared to the MRLs of the investigated pesticides in apple according to the Regulation (EC) No 396/2005. Detectable residues of the examined pesticides were not found in the analyzed samples.

Evaluating Biochar-Water Sorption Coefficients of Pharmaceutically Active Compounds by Using a Linear Free Energy Relationship

A linear free energy relationship (LFER) approach was used to predict the sorption coefficients of pharmaceutically active compounds (PhACs) to commercial biochar from aqueous solution, and to investigate the contributions of different intermolecular interactions in the overall sorption process. 14 PhACs with diverse functional groups (carboxyl, hydroxyl and nitrogenous heterocyclic) were selected as sorbates. All isotherm data of PhACs sorption to commercial rice straws biochar (carbonization temperature: 400-500℃, 200 mesh) could be well fitted by the Freundlich equation. The established LFER model could predict the value of sorption coefficient lgKd,activity at arbitrary levels of chemical saturation. The values of multiple correlation coefficient (R2=0.93), standard error (SE=0.23), F-statistic (268), leave-one-out cross validation (QLOO2=0.90), external cross validation correlation coefficient (QEXT2=0.92) indicated that the model was stable and of high predictive ability. The calculated results of the LFER model showed that, at lower sorbate concentration, sorption was dominated by the positive effect of cavity and the negative effect of sorbate capability of electron donation.

School Climate Affecting Job Satisfaction of Teachers in Primary Education, Khon Kaen, Thailand

The school Climate was a feeling of work practice towards visible characteristics of organization. It would have influence on determining the work practitioners’ behavior and attitude. the school Climate was important to cause one's Job Satisfaction as well as affect working efficiency. Therefore, the Teachers’ Work Satisfaction was an integral indicator leading to effectiveness in school. If the teachers were satisfied in work practice in school, that work practice would be easily successful. The purposes of this research were to study the school climate affecting job satisfaction of teachers in Primary Education and to study the school climate factors affecting job satisfaction of teachers. Sampling group for this study was remained only 329 teachers based on Krejcie and Morgan's (1970) table. Research findings were as follows; 1) Overall of the school climate affecting job satisfaction of teachers was at a “high” level. The success and unity were found with the highest mean while the lowest one was the responsibility. 2) Overall of teachers’ job satisfaction was at a “high” level. The career characteristic was found with the highest mean while the lowest one was the salary and other related stipends.3) There were 6 aspects of the organizational climate affecting the job satisfaction of teachers including; 1) performance standard, 2) responsibility, 3) unity, 4) reward, 5) success and 6) leadership. The value of multiple correlation coefficient was 0.84 and the coefficient of prediction or prediction capability was found at 71.60% with statistical significance at the .05 level.

Pengaruh Kecerdasan Matematis–Logis dan Kemandirian Belajar terhadap Hasil Belajar Matematika

<p>This study aims to obtain empirical data and analyze the influence of <br />mathematical-logical intelligence, and self study of learning outcomes in mathematics. The variables consisted of: independent variable mathematical-logical intelligence and self study, the dependent variable is the result of learning mathematics. This research was done in class X Vocational High School in South Jakarta district municipality Jagakarsa. The research method used is survey method with correlation analysis. The sample totaled 120 students. Based on the testing of hypotheses to conclusions: (1) There is a significant <br />positive effect of mathematical-logical intelligence on the results of learning <br />mathematics, where the value of the simple correlation coefficient is positive, significant correlation with test Sig. <0.05, and test the regression coefficient with the Sig. <0.05. (2) There are no significant positive influence on the result of self study to learn mathematics. Where the value of the simple correlation coefficient is positive, significant correlation with test Sig. <0.05, and test the regression coefficient with the Sig. > 0.05. (3) There is a significant positive effect of mathematical-logical intelligence and independence of learning on mathematics learning outcomes. Where the value of multiple correlation coefficient is positive, significant correlation with test Sig. <0.05, and test the <br />regression coefficient with the Sig. <0.05. And multiple regression models are free from multicollinearity or no relationship between the independent variables. </p>

A Quantitative Structure-Property Relationship (QSPR) Study of Aliphatic Alcohols by the Method of Dividing the Molecular Structure into Substructure

A quantitative structure–property relationship (QSPR) analysis of aliphatic alcohols is presented. Four physicochemical properties were studied: boiling point (BP), n-octanol–water partition coefficient (lg POW), water solubility (lg W) and the chromatographic retention indices (RI) on different polar stationary phases. In order to investigate the quantitative structure–property relationship of aliphatic alcohols, the molecular structure ROH is divided into two parts, R and OH to generate structural parameter. It was proposed that the property is affected by three main factors for aliphatic alcohols, alkyl group R, substituted group OH, and interaction between R and OH. On the basis of the polarizability effect index (PEI), previously developed by Cao, the novel molecular polarizability effect index (MPEI) combined with odd-even index (OEI), the sum eigenvalues of bond-connecting matrix (SX1CH) previously developed in our team, were used to predict the property of aliphatic alcohols. The sets of molecular descriptors were derived directly from the structure of the compounds based on graph theory. QSPR models were generated using only calculated descriptors and multiple linear regression techniques. These QSPR models showed high values of multiple correlation coefficient (R > 0.99) and Fisher-ratio statistics. The leave-one-out cross-validation demonstrated the final models to be statistically significant and reliable.

Use of Topological Indices of Organic Sulfur Compounds in Quantitative Structure‐Retention Relationship Study

AbstractStructure‐gas chromatographic retention index models were developed for some organic sulfur compounds at four different temperatures (60, 80, 100 and 120 °C) using only topological descriptors. At first, regression models were generated for each temperature separately with high values of multiple correlation coefficient and Fisher‐ratio statistics. The results of cross validation test using leave‐one‐out (Q2≥0.956) and leave‐two‐out (Q2≥0.953) methods showed good predictive ability of the models developed. Then, a single combined quantitative structure‐retention relationship model, added temperature as a parameter, was also developed for all the temperatures, showing good statistical parameters (R=0.991 and F=728.474). The stability and validity of the combined model were verified by both internal (Q2>0.970) and external validation (Q$\rm{ {_{prediction\;set}^{2}}}$=0.993) techniques. The results of the study indicated the efficiency of the classical topological descriptors in simultaneous prediction of retention index values of sulfur compounds at different temperatures. The topological descriptors well covered the molecular properties known to be relevant for gas chromatographic retention data, such as molecular size and degree of branching.

Partial and multiple correlations between Thysanoptera species and abiotic factors

The work presents the role of the abiotic factors in the development of the thrips populations in the mountainous meadows. We have calculated the correlation coefficients between thrips numerical abundance obtained throughout three years, and two main weather factors. 93 correlation coefficients higher than 0.5 were obtained in the case of the correlation between the abundance of 12 Thrips species and air relative humidity; 218 in the case of correlation abundance - air temperature; 411 in the case of multiple correlation coefficients. Taeniothrips picipes, Frankliniella intonsa, Aeolothrips intermedius, Thrips pelikani and Chirothrips manicatus had the highest number of significant values of multiple correlation coefficients.

A Comparison of Techniques for Eliciting Patient Preferences in Patients with Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia

We compared the Health Utility Index (HUI), EuroQol (EQ-5D) and time trade-off methods to identify the most suitable technique for collecting preference data in a clinical trial of patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). A total of 29 men with symptomatic BPH were interviewed by a single trained interviewer who collected demographic data and administered EQ-5D and time trade-off questionnaires. Participants self-administered the HUI and a symptom severity index, the International Prostate Symptom Score (I-PSS) questionnaire. Utility values for current patient health states obtained from the HUI, EQ-5D and time trade-off questionnaires were compared and their relationship with I-PSS data was examined using Spearman's correlation coefficients. Administration time and patient assessments of the relevance of the questions were also compared for the 3 methods. Although mean utility values for HUI, EQ-5D and 1-year time trade-off were similar, only utility values elicited using time trade-off with a 1-year time frame significantly correlated with symptom scores. The 1 and 10-year time trade-off derived values were reasonable predictors of the I-PSS with multiple correlation coefficient values of 0.379 and 0.265, respectively. All participants indicated that the HUI and EQ-5D were appropriate for assessing BPH, while approximately 10% considered time trade-off questions irrelevant. Average completion time for the HUI, time trade-off and EQ-5D questionnaires was 31, 25 and 10 minutes, respectively. Because only time trade-off resulted in utility values that significantly correlated with symptom scores, we recommend its use for estimating utility in clinical trials of BPH.

Application of a computer assisted image analyzer to the assessment of area and number of sites of dental attrition and its use for age estimation

A simple method was devised to assess dental attrition in terms of its area and number of sites by using dental plaster casts and a computer assisted image analyser. The changes presented on the occlusal surfaces of teeth were investigated for age estimation using these criteria. The area of attrition on each tooth demonstrated a significant positive correlation with age, but a wide individual variation was observed in the values for each tooth. Therefore, this method was unsuitable for accurate age estimation of a single tooth. A strong negative correlation with age was observed in the number of sites of attrition. A multiple stepwise regression analysis using the variables ‘attrition area’ and ‘attrition number’ revealed multiple correlation coefficient values of 0.93. The quantitative assessment of both horizontal and vertical factors of dental attrition would be essential to improve the accuracy of this method.

An Urban Land Use Model Using Muliple Periods Data

There have been many empirical urban land use models made up to the present. But most of them used only one year or one period data for their model calibration. Those models were not examined in the light of time series analysis. Therefore, planners have been afraid that they may misproject in long term projection while they can get good results in a short term one. Model builders have been interested in time space land use models. But they can not have built such a model. One main reason is the lack of time series cross section data of urban activities distribution. This study shows a time space land use model. This model allocates household and employment at 18 zones in the Matsuyama metropolitan area (population 530 thousand in 1980). The model was examined with the data from 5 periods during 25 years from 1955 to 1980.This model looks like the Lowry model. It is composed of the basic sector (manufacture, public utilities and govenment), the household sector, the nonbasic sector (construction, wholesale and retail, bank insurance and real estate, and services) and the agriculture sector. The number of those employed in industries in the nonbasic secrtor and agriculture and the number of households are estimated by linear regression equations. But the number employed in industries in the basic sector are given exogeneously.The model calibration was carried out in two ways. First it was done by period. We got five sets of parameter values estimated for each regression equation. Then pooling data calibration was done. The results of these calibrations were good. The value of the multiple correlation coefficient is more than 0.97 in every regression case except the one of construction employment of which the least value is 0.93. The signs of most parameters estimated meet our expectation. T values of the parameter in the case of pooling data have less than 0.1% significance level except for 2 of all 14 parameters.Trend analysis of 5 parameter values, estimated by period, showed no meaningful trend. With this result, it is difficult to estimate the future value of a parameter which is expected to be useful in long term projection from its trend analysis.Two cases of long term projection which start in 1955 and end in 1980 with each parameter set were executed. One case used the parameter values determined from pooling data regression, and the other case used those derived from the first period regression (1955-1960). The number employed by industry and households were projected by zone in 1980. As for the number of households, the average error rate per zone was 32% for the pooling parameter case and 38% for the first period parameter case. We can not say whether this result means bad projection or not in a practical sense because there has been no other examination of long term projection until now. However, this result shows that the large value of multiple correlation coefficient which is found by regression analysis will not always guarantee the success of long term projection.
