 SATISFACTION IN SMPN 1 BANUHAMPU KABUPATEN AGAM. 
 The purpose of this research is to identify and analyze the influence of leadership toward work
 satisfaction in SMPN 1 Banuhampu Kabupaten Agam. The population of the research is the teachers in SMPN
 1 Banuhampu Kabupaten Agam. Samples taken are 56 respondents by using random sampling technique, which
 determine samples by taking a sample randomly and use the questionnaire as a tool to collect data. Based on
 hypothesis in this research, it is assumed that the influence of leadership significantly and positively influence
 the teachers’ work satisfaction in SMPN 1 Banuhampu Kabupaten Agam.
 The data analysis methods author used in this research are validity tes, reliability test, variable
 descriptive analysis test, simple linear regression analysis, T test and F test. From analysis that have been done,
 author found that leadership variable (X1) is significantly and positively influence the satisfaction of teachers’
 work, this is proven by the significant probability value of leadership is resulted in 0,000 which is smaller than
 0,05. From F test, it can be concluded that regression model can be use to predict the leadership which have
 significantly and positively influence toward teachers’ work satisfaction by the significant probability value is
 resulted in 0,000 which is smaller than 0,05.

Leadership Style Analysis to Improve the Quality of Human Resources at Yayasan Pembangunan Masyarakat Sejahtera (YPMS) (Case Study at As-Salam Elementary School YPMS Kedaung)

Leadership style talks about how a leader applies his leadership. While the value of leadership is a principle held by leaders in the application of leadership. This study aims to analyze the leadership style applied and the application of leadership values by the leaders of the Yayasan Pembangunan Masyarakat Sejahtera (YPMS). This research also aims to: (1) To find out the leadership style at the Yayasan Pembangunan Masyarakat Sejahtera (YPMS) (2) To find out how the role of leadership in an effort to improve the quality and quality of human resources in the Yayasan Pembangunan Masyarakat Sejahtera (YPMS) ). The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. Methods of data collection using interviews and participatory observation. In determining the sources using purposive sampling technique. Testing the validity of the data using source triangulation techniques. From the results of this study, it was concluded that the leadership style of the chairman of the Yayasan Pembangunan Masyarakat Sejahtera (YPMS) was a transformational, situational and authentic leadership style. While the leadership values applied are intelligence, self-confidence, perseverance, integrity, and social skills. The results of the analysis show that leaders in the Yayasan Pembangunan Masyarakat Sejahtera (YPMS) use several leadership styles to improve the quality and quality of the foundation. The role of the leader is very important in improving the quality and quality. The obstacle in its implementation is the lack of human resources, budget sources and facilities/facilities and infrastructure. This research is also planned to be published in an accredited journal sinta.

The Akan Traditional Leadership Formation: Some Lessons for Christian Leadership Formation

Traditional and Christian leaders in Akan communities in Ghana provide leadership services for the same Akan people. For proper internal harmony and identity devoid of identity crises, the two leadership systems should not only understand each other but must be willing to learn relevant values and lessons from each other. The integration which has already taken place among Akan traditional leaders as they have over the years learnt Christian leadership values and lessons from churches and mission schools is yet to take place properly in Christian leadership formation. This article seeks to analyse the values and lessons in Akan traditional leadership formation and its significance for Christian leadership formation. Observation and interviews of the Akan traditional leadership institution at Akuapim, Akyem and Asante and examination of secondary materials on early interpreters of the interaction between the Akan traditional leadership institution with the Christian faith are used to gather qualitative data. Akan traditional leadership formation pays much attention to matters of royal consciousness, leadership as service, mentoring, the celebration of the Adae festival and oath swearing. Christian leadership formation that seeks to avoid the church being alien on Akan cultural soil will need to pay attention to the indigenous leadership formation when addressing issues on institutional memory, stewardship, women in leadership, leadership as service and accountability in Christian leadership. Personal and Environmental Predictors of Aggression in Adolescence

This study aims to find causal factors of aggression in a group of Latino adolescents to achieve a greater understanding of human nature, taking into account personal and contextual variables. The fundamental hypothesis is that moral disengagement, personality traits, self-esteem, values, parenting, sex, and socioeconomic situation can function as possible casual factors of aggression in adolescents. The study examined the variables using the structural equations model (SEM) to determine causal factors of aggression in a sample of 827 adolescents (54% men and 46% women) between 11 and 16 years of age. According to the scientific literature review, sociodemographic, personal, and familiar variables were included in the causal model. The influence of the variables occurred in two ways: one that inhibits aggression and the other that reinforces it. The results are discussed based on identifying protective and risk factors against aggression: biological sex and values of conformity and transcendence as aggression’s inhibitors and, on the other hand, openness, moral disengagement, and leadership values as the most important predictors of aggression.

ETHICAL LEADERSHIP AND TEACHER PROFESSIONAL VALUES: MATTERS ARISING FROM THE NORTHERN REGION OF GHANA

<p>School heads as senior executives are thought to provide the institution ethical tone at the top to impact on subordinates. As a result, the study investigated how heads ethical leadership and teacher professional values influence students’ academic achievement, using a survey of 370 respondents in senior high schools in the Northern Region of Ghana. Questionnaires were used to collect data and analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics. It emerged from the study that ethical leadership practice of school heads and unadulterated professional values are fundamental to teachers, students and the entire school organization. Results from the study showed that mentorship, honesty and trust were core ethical leadership attributes of heads. The current study and other empirical research points to the fact that teacher professional values including reliability, professionalism and trust are keen in teacher’s career success. The study recommends that practicing and prospective heads are made to go for professional development sessions on ethical leadership behaviours. Again, induction and effective orientation on professional standards and values should form part of teacher recruitment and lifelong learning since they are vital for positive teacher identity and excellent learning outcomes.</p><p> </p><p><strong> Article visualizations:</strong></p><p><img src="/-counters-/edu_01/0716/a.php" alt="Hit counter" /></p>

The Effect of Leadership on the Performance of Chinese Manufacturing Companies

The aim of this paper is to find out the effects of leadership, mediated by value innovation on the business financial performance of the manufacturing SMEs in China. Second, to examine what kind of links there are among leadership, value innovation and financial performance of Chinese manufacturing firms are explored. Last but not least, this paper will investigate Chinese manufacturing companies, which have survived and grown. To discuss what kind of key factors they have and how they adopt these strategies in order to achieve value innovation for their corporate growth in emerging markets, the result of this study is that there is a positive relationship between leadership value innovation, and financial performance of companies. Meanwhile, results illustrated that product innovation mediated the relationship of leadership with financial performance, but business model innovation has no mediating role on the relationship of leadership with financial performance.

A Study on Succession Planning, Prospective Successor Selection, Transfer of Idiosyncratic Firm Knowledge in Family Owned Businesses of Hyderabad

This study seeks to gain a better understanding of how the succession planning is undertaken in family owned businesses, most preferred qualities in the prospective successor and the transfer of tacit idiosyncratic firm knowledge from one generation to the next generation. The fact that family businesses contribution to the Indian economy is highly significant as well as the fact that most of the family businesses do not survive beyond three generations makes the study important. This study was conducted by distributing a quantitative survey containing numerous close ended questions to the family business owners, potential successors and successors. The survey asked respondents to explain how succession planning takes place in their firm, the most preferred qualities in the prospective successor and the mode of transfer of tacit idiosyncratic firm knowledge from one generation to another. The survey results provided insight into many important factors of succession planning such as the prospective successor being chosen with consensus of the all the family members, the process of succession being well communicated in the business and possessing leadership values is the most preferred quality sought in a successor. Learning by observing is the most preferred mode of transfer of tacit knowledge from one generation to another.

ANALISIS GAYA KEPEMIMPINAN KHARISMATIK DALAM MEMELIHARA NILAI-NILAI TRADISI KEPESANTRENAN TRADISIONAL DI PONDOK PESANTREN NURUL HUDA KAMUNDUNG SAMPANG

This study examines the charismatic leadership style at the Pondok Pesantren Nurul Huda Kamundung Omben Sampang. This study uses a qualitative approach with the type of field research. Sources of data were obtained using interviews, observation, and documentation. The results show that: first, the application of a charismatic leadership style in maintaining traditional pesantren traditional values ​​still maintains the salaf Islamic boarding school which still maintains the teachings of previous scholars whose teaching uses the yellow book using the sorogan and wetonan teaching methods. And its management does not ask for funds from the government but asks for donations from students, asking for donations from the community to meet the needs of Islamic boarding schools. Second, the way to maintain traditional values ​​in charismatic leadership in Islamic boarding schools is by maintaining the traditions of salaf Islamic boarding schools, meaning that the salaf is still following the teachings of the scholars, namely reciting the yellow book, praying in congregation, learning to read the Qur'an, khidmah, and seek the approval of the teacher, and the method used is deliberation.

Model Pembelajaran Olahraga Rekreasi

The purpose of this study was to test and formulate a recreational sports learning model. The method used is research and development (R&D), using the Contextual Teacing and Learning (CTL) learning model. Qualitative data were collected through instrument development and observation. In addition, data was also collected through interviews, lecturer observers and discussions with other lecturers after the implementation of the model. Data were collected in the form of notes in the field, notes on discussions and interviews, then analyzed according to categories based on the conceptual framework. Furthermore, the data were analyzed through triangulation, including; (1) observation, (2) persistence of observation, (3) peer examination, and (4) member checking through discussion. The result of this study is that the values of fair play, leadership, and creativity have been identified as models, although they are still trend, all indicators appear in recreational sports lectures.

The road less travelled: A Zimbabwean leadership dilemma

Subject area of the teaching case: The values-based leadership (VBL) themes lend the case to use in courses focussed on individual leadership approaches, personal-professional development, personal mastery, or individual agency in social change and social justice movements. The emerging market context adds a layer of complexity to the protagonist's journey, which may make the case especially relevant for use among students who work in this context or in courses that deal with volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity (VUCA). Student level: The primary target audience for this case is postgraduate students in a management or professional development program. Brief overview of the teaching case: This case offers a leadership profile of lawyer Fadzayi Mahere as she pursues social change at the national level by running for political office in Zimbabwe in 2018. The case recounts Mahere's professional journey through human rights law and local activism, which eventually drives her to run as an independent for a position in the national election. She does this as a response to the dire state of the country: economic crisis, social instability, and political corruption that are making life increasingly untenable for most people. In spite of running a strong grassroots campaign, Mahere loses the election and is faced with the dilemma of whether or not to forego independence and join the dominant opposition party. The case therefore centres around the role of values in leadership, the role of narrative in shaping the decision to lead, and how these things impact a leader's strategy for affecting social change and achieving social justice. Expected learning outcomes: Appreciate the systemic nature of social problems in an emerging market context and how this creates different opportunities for a leader to act on a problem Understand how a leader's identity, in terms of values and experiences, shapes their motivations and informs their strategy for leading a change effort Understand the dimensions of values-based leadership (VBL) – transformational, authentic, accountability, and ethical leadership – and how the actions of a values-driven leader reflect these Identify the mechanisms that aspiring leaders practicing VBL can use to build an authentic narrative for key stakeholders to accept and embrace them Recognise the different strategies a leader can adopt to achieve values-driven outcomes, while maintaining alignment with the different dimensions of VBL

The Effects of Safety-specific Transformational Leadership and Active Transactional Leadership on Mindful Safety Practices Adoption in the Chinese Petroleum Industry

Previous studies have concentrated on the value of managerial leadership for the safety behavior conduction by the employees in the workplace. However, safety leadership styles concerning mindful safety practices have rarely been examined. The goal of this study is therefore to investigate the relationships between safety-specific leaderships (transformational and active transactional leadership) and the adoption of mindful safety practices among the first-line workers mediated by safety climate in the Chinese petroleum industry. Data were obtained from first-line workers in the two Chinese petroleum companies. PLS-SEM results have shown that transformational and active transactional leadership are positively related to safety climate, which in turn affect the mindful safety practices adoption in the Chinese petroleum industry. The results of the current study indicate that transformational and active transactional leadership in a safety-specific view offer a comprehensive leadership model for mindful safety practices conduction in the Chinese petroleum industry.

"Tourism Brings Good Things": Tourism and Community Development in Rural Papua New Guinea

Many governments and NGOs have argued for using tourism, especially community-based tourism (CBT), as a development tool. While this tourism option is often described as more sustainable in terms of contributions to destination community well-being, there is only a limited understanding of the processes that actually underpin CBT and its outcomes in peripheral destinations. This article argues that one reason for this limited understanding is that research into CBT has typically been conducted from a Western perspective with little consideration given to historical and political contexts of colonization and disempowerment. This article reports on a research study that used an alternative, culturally appropriate research methodology with 12 rural PNG villages that had self-initiated CBT ventures and that specifically sought to give these village communities a voice in understanding how CBT can be developed to be one part of larger sustainable community development processes. Major findings included: a positive view of tourism as an additional source of income that fitted well with existing sustainable livelihoods; strong connection between development decisions and the core Melanesian values of clan identity, leadership, and support from elders, community cooperation and reciprocity in the successful maintenance of tourism activities; the need to manage the entire supply chain and not be limited by the actions and power of external tourism operators and agents; the need for education and training in many aspects of tourism to enhance entrepreneurial approaches and greater returns from the supply chain; and the challenge of gender issues.

Nilai Budaya dalam Serat Ajisaka

One of Javanese literature attached to Javanese people is the story of Ajisaka, which was published among the people in verbal and writing. Ajisaka is a Javanese figure whom the Javanese people consider as the originator of Javanese script. One of the recorded of the story of Ajisaka was the Serat Ajisaka written by J. Kats using Javanese script. Serat Ajisaka is one of the stories from a collection of stories in the book entitled Serat Jawi Tanpa Sekar written by J. Kats, a Dutch writer in 1942. This research aims to describe the cultural values ​​in Serat Ajisaka by J. Kats in 1942 using philology studies. This research uses the descriptive method conducted in three stages, the first stage transcribing data, the second stage transliterating Latin script containing Javanese into Indonesian, then analyzing the cultural value in Serat Ajisaka. Serat Ajisaka has several concepts of cultural values, namely: 1) educational values, 2) religious values, 3) leadership values, 4) heroism values, 5) courage values, 6) simplicity values, 7) mutual-cooperation values, 8) moral values, and 9) the value of sacrifice for others.

Managing Stress in Times of Change for Teachers’ Wellbeing and Commitment to Change in Tanzanian Education Sector

This review attempts to explain the strategic importance of managing stress in times of change for teachers’ wellbeing and commitment to change in education sector in Tanzania. Building on Lewin’s change management theory, stress management strategies based on ethical leadership values (care, respect, integrity, and justice) were suggested to escalate teachers’ wellbeing, and commitment to changes in secondary schools. The findings revealed that teachers’ stress can be originated from unclear vision of educational managers, fear of the unknown, job insecurity and uncertainties on the job in times of change in secondary schools. Also, the findings suggest that leadership roles of clearly communicating the vision, supporting teachers, being fair, considerate, and respectful during times of change in secondary schools are central to managing stress in times of change. This review calls for empirical test of the relationship between stress management and teachers’ commitment to change initiatives in secondary schools. 

Leadership legitimacy and the mobilization of capital(s): Disrupting politics and reproducing heteronormativity

The rise of populist leaders in the political sphere mounts a challenge to normative understandings of leadership. To better understand this challenge, we examine how political leaders mobilize different forms of social capital in pursuit of leadership legitimacy, providing insight into the dynamics of how leadership norms are maintained. While research has tended to focus on specific forms of capital, this article considers capital as multidimensional and strategically mobilized. The article applies a multimodal analysis to examine interactions between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton during peak ‘Twitter Moments’ of the three 2016 presidential election debates. We theorize the paradoxical dynamics of the mobilization of multiple capitals and their intersection as a simultaneously disruptive and reproductive resource. While the mobilization of multiple capitals operates to disrupt traditional notions of who can claim legitimacy as a leader in the political field, their disruptive mobilization serves to reproduce implicit heteronormative leadership values. Hence, our theorization illuminates the resilience of implicit leadership values, and their intimate connection with heteronormativity, calling for the need to interrogate leadership legitimacy claims that promise ‘new’ approaches.

Equity should know no borders: The role of Australasian radiation oncologists in supporting radiation oncology services in low- and middle-income countries in the Asia-Pacific.

The rapid rise in cancer incidence within the world's poorest nations highlights the need for equitable access to evidence-based cancer care. It has been previously demonstrated that radiotherapy is a cost-effective and necessary tool in cancer treatment. However, globally there is a growing divide between demand and supply of radiotherapy services. In low- and middle-income countries, this resource gap is particularly problematic. By region, the Asia-Pacific has been demonstrated to have the highest absolute deficit in radiotherapy services. Radiation oncologists in Australia and New Zealand are geographically well positioned to assist departments within the Asia-Pacific to help to reduce these inequities. The Asia-Pacific Radiation Oncology Special Interest Group (APROSIG) aims to support oncology professionals in the Asia-Pacific to develop safe and sustainable cancer services. Members have already contributed to multiple projects throughout the region, supported by grants and departmental funding. However, the backbone of support comes from volunteers sharing their time and expertise. The Australasian oncological community has the skills and knowledge to help not only those within our borders but also beyond. Such efforts provide the potential to develop valuable clinical, educational, research and leadership experiences whilst establishing networking opportunities throughout the most populated regions of the world. More options for growth and work in global health must be investigated, encouraging future trainees to consider a role within the global cancer community. Without prompt and continued action, the resource deficit is likely to grow and the inequity in accessing radiotherapy and other cancer services further magnified.

Portraits of UK Black and South Asian headteachers five years on: Leadership retention in the age of academization

This article analyzes the career trajectories of eight Black and South Asian headteachers who were part of a larger study of three generations of Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) headteachers (28) interviewed in 2015 (Johnson, 2017). Using a longitudinal life history approach and portraiture, it seeks to answer the question, “How do Black and South Asian headteachers narrate their career progression and leadership values over time?” In particular, I explore the growth of academization and the formation of Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs) on the work lives of Black and South Asian headteachers and the role of autonomy, value alignment, and professional support on their leadership retention.

Implementation of Leadership Values in Pancasila Paradigm as Character Building Values

<p><em>The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of leadership values in the Pancasila paradigm as a character-building value. This research uses descriptive qualitative type and literature study by applying the technique of observation, documentation, and interviews. The data analysis technique is done by categorizing and classifying based on the logical analysis, then interpreted in the context of the whole research problem. The findings of the research show that students of basic leadership training do not understand the values of leadership in an applicative manner, this can be seen by the incomplete understanding of leaders and leadership. This research is expected that students are able to implement leadership values in the context of the Pancasila paradigm through character building in everyday life.</em></p>

Role of Physical Education in Societal Growth

Physical Education is an old age concept, considered to be the first form of communication and was used by the primitive men for survival. With the advancement of time physical education has become a full fledge professional and an integral part of education of human beings. In the 21st century physical education contribution towards the society and national building is very significant and praise worth. Physical education uses physical activity, sports and game and exercise as a medium to not only nurture the social values and attributes in the youth but also play an important role in preventing lifestyle disease of 21st century. Physical activity and sports helps in imparting leadership, comradeship and good human values in the children and promotes health and wellness of the citizens. National harmony among the citizens and international peace can be achieved through sports and physical activities. Therefore it can be established that physical education plays a pivotal role in society and nation building. This review provides an overview of the existing literature on school-aged children’s and youth’s (i.e. 6- to 18-year-olds) personal and social development within the context of physical education and sports. A total of 4359 non-duplicate articles were retrieved from six databases. After the title, abstract and full text screening, 88 articles met the inclusion criteria and were included for further analysis. The 88 studies used several study designs, methods and instruments to investigate a variety of concepts related to personal and social development. Concepts were grouped into the following 11 themes: work ethic; control and management; goal-setting; decision-making; problem-solving; responsibility; leadership; cooperation; meeting people and making friends; communication; and prosocial behaviour. The main findings for each of the 11 themes are reported, and limitations and implications are provided to guide researchers and practitioners in their future work.
