It seems that everywhere you look, wireless security is in the news. WiFi networks are being deployed in homes and businesses at an astounding rate. Bluetooth is being in integrated into all manner of device from cell phone to laptop to automobile. And now RFID tags are starting to show up in some retail stores and gaining acceptance in for use in supply chain management. The biggest concern with RFID is the ability to track the location of a person or asset. Some specialized equipment can pick up a signal from an RFID tag over a considerable distance. But an RFID tag number is incomprehensible to a potential attacker without access to a backend database. The problem is that an attacker may get access to the backend database.
