This study aimed to assess the prevalence of consumption and indications of medicinal plants of consumers of natural products hops. Cross-sectional observational study, data collection was performed at the Municipal Market Curitiba, PR, through a questionnaire addressing the use of medicinal plants, addressing which plants used, method of use, frequency and duration of use, purpose, prescriber identification of this plant, effect ID (s) side (s), satisfaction with the use of herbal and dietary intake assessment concomitant medications. Among the topics consumers, 82.69% use medicinal plants often including lemon balm (Melissa officinalis L.). The main purpose of use is with digestive function and how to most commonly used preparation is infused with 73.08%. There was 63.46% of respondents claim to make use of plants from childhood, 75% use them for influence of parents and family and also 46.15% make use of medicinal plants with medicines. Of the respondents, 98.07% reported being satisfied with the results. It was found that the use of medicinal plants by consumers is very diffuse and often, therefore, is needed more attention to this aspect of use, in order to avoid possible drug interactions, since a large part of the population makes use of concomitant medications.
