Community Partnership Empowerment (CPE) as the topic of community service activities in the Community Based Empowerment scheme with partners, namely the Mandiri Tiram Farmers group located in Parungkuda. The objectives of CPE are (1) Providing solutions to problem solving aspects of production using technology to increase partner income by 10%. (2) Assistance in developing marketing strategies by utilizing communication and information technology to expand the market. Implementation of activities through the stages of socialization, discussion, asset handover, mentoring and evaluation. The results of PKM activities can provide solutions in the production aspect by providing assistance with sterilization process equipment to improve the quality of making mushroom seeds (baglog). Press machine assistance to maintain consistent baglog density and increase production capacity. Assistance activities in developing marketing strategies by providing knowledge and skills in the use of information communication technology, packaging label designs and processed mushroom food products. The output of CPE activities is an increase in sales turnover of oyster mushrooms from Rp. 19,800,000/month to Rp. 21,780,000/month or 10% for 1 production period can be achieved successfully by applying technology in the production process of making mushroom seeds.

E-commerce and rural women entrepreneurship ——Based on the quasi-natural experiment of “comprehensive demonstration policy” for E-commerce in rural areas

The importance of information and communication technology in rural areas has gradually become prominent, and rural e-commerce has emerged as a crucial driver for promoting agricultural and rural development. This paper takes the comprehensive demonstration policy for e-commerce in rural areas as a quasi-natural experiment. It is based on five-period panel data from the China Family Panel Studies (CFPS) and employs the staggered difference-in-differences method to examine the impact of e-commerce on rural women entrepreneurship and its mechanisms. The research results indicate that the implementation of the comprehensive demonstration policy for e-commerce in rural areas significantly increases the probability of rural women engaging in entrepreneurship by 1.6 %. The entrepreneurial promotion effect of this demonstration policy is more pronounced for rural women in the central and western regions and those with lower educational levels, demonstrating the inclusiveness of e-commerce in rural development. Additionally, this promotion effect is also significantly influenced by marital heterogeneity. Mechanism analysis results suggest that the comprehensive demonstration policy for e-commerce in rural areas can stimulate the use of information and communication technology by rural women, leverage the crucial role of non-traditional education in skill development, alleviate financial and social capital constraints for rural women, and inspire a wave of rural women entrepreneurship. The paper argues that the construction of rural e-commerce has the potential to empower rural women entrepreneurship.

Teachers’ and Learners’ Perceptions To-wards the Use of ICT in EFL Classrooms: Moroccan and Korean High Schools

The use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in many aspects of life, not only, has brought dramatic changes in the paradigms and methods practiced in the developed countries, but also, it has been expanded in developing countries. The present paper attempts to explore and shed lights on the perceptions towards the ICT use in high schools in Morocco, as a developing country, and South Korea, as a developed country. To this end, a mixed method has been designed and conducted with a total of 412 high school students and 212 EFL teachers; including the focus group participants. In this study we review the related literature and we have chosen the two appropriate research instruments to collect the data; a survey questionnaire for 400 students and a survey questionnaire for 200 EFL teachers, and a focus group for 12 students and 12 teachers. The findings reveal the levels of ICT skills of the participated teachers and students. Additionally, the data collected demonstrate that although both students and teachers possess positive attitudes towards the ICT use in EFL classrooms, the ICT integration in learning and teaching has two sides impact, positive and negative, not only on students but on teachers as well. The results recommend that ICT in education should be given higher consideration than it currently receives.

Digital Divide or Digital Bridge? Evaluating the Impact of ICT Integration in South Africa’s Rural Schools

The advent of the knowledge economy necessitates the development of specific skills pertinent to 21st-century citizens, such as global competitiveness and the proficient use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) for personal and economic advancement. In response, nations worldwide, both developed and developing, are reforming educational curricula and promoting the integration of ICTs in teaching and learning. South Africa is no exception and through policy initiatives aimed to enhance educational opportunities by equipping all schools with laptops and tablets by 2013. Rural schools were to be given particular attention through the development of eLearning. This study explores the alignment between eLearning policy directives and their implementation in rural schools. The research engaged five school principals and one district official, employing semi-structured interviews and document analysis as data collection methods. The findings reveal that teachers lack training to effectively integrate ICTs into educational practices. Despite a revised implementation strategy from 2013 to 2025, progress remains minimal and disproportionately favours smart schools within the province rather than a universal application. The study advocates for the KwaZulu-Natal education department to prioritise comprehensive ICT integration training for teachers across all educational phases. Furthermore, it recommends an expansive distribution of devices in form of tablets and laptops to include primary schools and calls for a national curriculum overhaul to meet the needs of the 21st-century learner. Teachers are also encouraged to proactively seek professional development opportunities independently of departmental offerings.

The Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) are the revolution of the XXI century, which allows doctors to be in immediate contact with the international scientific community, providing common professional projects and reviewing specific health situations, without intermediaries. However, studies specifically analyze the scope this type of developments have on the medical profession, on the attitude and knowledge of the patients or the relationship between them. The purpose of this study was to design a tool to evaluate the use of ICT in the field of medical professionals and influence in their clinical practice. To do this we have chosen one of the most common problems in the field of health which is the problem of pain. Through a questionnaire filled out by medical professional whose clinical activity is related to the treatment of pain, some aspects of the influence of ICT are explored in the continuous training of medical and clinical practice.

Education is one sector that continues to experience significant development, especially in terms of the use of information and communication technology (ICT) in the learning process. This research is intended as a development in terms of creating an Augmented Reality 3D geometry shapes interactive learning based on the previous researches featuring a Markerless Based, that is expected to be more effective to use. The conclusion of this research is that Markerless Based Augmented Reality Interactive Learning media of 3D Geometry Shapes has been be developed succesfully. The application development stage was successfully carried out by applying the waterfall model and obtained successful results in the testing plan on the Black Box Testing of application prototypes on mobile android devices, indicates that the developed application has fulfilled all the functional requirements.

Is internationalization abroad a prerequisite for university students' intercultural competence development?

PurposeThis study aims to examine how intercultural competence (IC) among university students can be enhanced through two streams of higher education internationalization: internationalization abroad and internationalization at home (IaH). By doing so, it aims to improve university students' IC through identifying which factors are more effective in fostering IC.Design/methodology/approachThe study is not solely a literature review, but rather a conceptual exploration based on a selective review of the literature. Due to the exploratory nature of this study, we employed a thematic analysis approach to reviewing English language literature while incorporating relevant Chinese literature to ensure a more balanced representation.FindingsWe found that international students’ IC is influenced by their overseas learning experiences, which are closely related to the duration of stay, language proficiency, intercultural contact, university management and teachers and administrative support. On the other hand, domestic students’ IC has been influenced by various IaH experiences primarily within their home university campus, such as foreign language learning, international curriculum, extracurricular activities, communication between domestic and international students, integrated management of international students, the use of Internet and communication technology and so forth. Although a direct and definitive comparison is lacking, some comparative analyses suggest that IaH experiences may yield better results in enhancing the IC of domestic students.Originality/valueThis article advances the understanding of IC development. We call for further research that values the importance of IaH in the increasingly uncertain globalization and delves into comparative analysis of the effects of two streams of higher education internationalization.

Digital competence of students in higher education: an assessment framework in Vietnam

PurposeThis study investigates the digital competence (DC) of undergraduate students, considering three key dimensions: use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) resources, knowledge about ICT resources, and attitude towards ICT. We also examined the relationship between these aspects in order to build a DC assessment framework.Design/methodology/approachA structured questionnaire was administered to students from several universities in Vietnam in order to assess their DC. A PLS analysis was conducted based on data from 551 valid responses.FindingsStatistical analyses showed that the DC of students was quite low. The findings certify that knowledge of ICT resources is a total intermediate variable in the impact of attitude towards ICT on the use of ICT resources by students.Practical implicationsOur findings provide important implications for policymakers and teachers' insights for authorities, universities, and scholars to develop strategies for DC of students in higher education.Originality/valueThis study is the first to explore the DC assessment framework for students in higher education in an emerging market, Vietnam.

Preparation and validation of the instrument "QualiAPS digital-Brazil" for assessing digital health care in primary health care: a required tool.

The use of Information and Communication Technologies in the field of health is increasing across the world, demarcating the field of digital health. The goal of this study is to formulate and validate a matrix of indicators, design assessment scripts and indicate data collection techniques for assessing the quality of digital health care in Brazilian Primary Health Care (PHC). This is a validation study divided into three phases: preparation of the instrument, analysis of validity and pilot study. The instrument was prepared based on the PHC assessment model from a literature review; the analysis of validity used the Delphi technique associated with the nominal group and the evidence from the literature reference. In the pilot study, audio-recorded interviews were conducted with strategic primary care actors. The matrix of indicators "QualiAPS Digital-Brazil" introduces a set of 37 indicators, distributed into three distinct components and their respective dimensions. The component "Structure" includes the dimension "Resources"; the component "Processes" includes the dimensions "Technical," "Organizational" and "Relational"; and the component "Results" includes the dimensions "Short-Term Results" and "Medium-Term Results." The general values obtained for CVI and IRR were 0.89 and 1.00; respectively. Therefore, it was possible to design assessment scripts and indicate qualitative data collection techniques for assessing digital health in Brazilian PHC. The instrument presented was validated regarding its relevance, content and theoretical support to evaluate the quality of digital health care, supporting decision-making by managers and health professionals in the search for improving remote primary care provided to the population.

Assessing the Efficacy of Moodle: Perspectives from Educators and Learners at the Department of English, Ahmed Salhi University Centre, Naama

The educational sphere has experienced a progressive implementation of innovative ideas in institutions and universities, leading to a significant move towards the use of information and communication technology. Numerous universities worldwide have recently adopted Moodle as an e-learning platform due to its potential advantages. This Learning Management System was introduced into Algerian higher education last decade, especially when the COVID-19 pandemic began to spread. This article examines the effectiveness and benefits of learning via the Moodle platform for EFL teachers and students at Salhi Ahmed University Centre in Naama. To investigate this, the researchers employed a methodology involving two questionnaires: one targeting a sample of 15 EFL teachers and another for around 70 students. In addition to the platform’s popularity among educators and students, the findings reveal a general appreciation for Moodle-based learning. Nevertheless, challenges such as accessibility and the need for ongoing teacher training in assessment persist. Addressing these Moodle-related issues could enhance the quality of education, aligning the institution with global trends in digital education.

Mostly Stability and Some Change in Lower-Secondary Pre-Service Teacher Education in the United States from 1990-2018: Evidence from TALIS 2018

This study leverages cross-sectional data collected via the 2018 Teaching and Learning International Survey (N = 1907) to estimate national “trends” in pre-service teacher education (PSTE) from 1990 to 2018 in the United States. In particular, the study examines linear trends in the content emphases of U.S. lower-secondary PSTE and in this teacher population’s initial level of preparedness in various domains. Results indicate more stability than change over this period nationally. PSTE emphasis on classroom practice in some or all subject(s) taught, and on monitoring students’ development and learning, decreased in frequency over time. PSTE emphasis on use of information and communication technology for teaching increased over time. Only teacher preparedness ratings for the use of information and communication technology for teaching statistically increased from 1990-2018.

Международный и зарубежный опыт криминализации противоправных деяний, связанных с использованием информационно-коммуникационных технологий

The article reviews international experience and experience of certain foreign states in the sphere of criminalization of illegal acts involving the use of various information and communications technologies. Based on the results of the study, the author concludes that some states have a different approach towards criminal law characteristics of such acts. However, they should be taken into account in rule-making and development of the criminal law policy of combating crimes committed with the use of information and communications technologies.

Information and communication technology availability demand and leadership behavior: A daily diary experience sampling method analysis

The widespread use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in the hospitality industry has resulted in a new form of job demand: ICT availability demand. However, it remains unclear how ICT availability demand shapes leadership behavior. To address this gap, this paper develops a moderated mediation model within the job demands-resources (JD-R) framework. A daily experience sampling method was used to collect 1066 daily cases from 111 team leaders in hotels in China over 15 consecutive workdays. Multilevel regression analysis shows that daily ICT availability demand impedes supervisory coaching but enhances supervisor undermining on the following day; previous day relaxation mediates these two relationships. Moreover, previous day home autonomy buffers the indirect relationship linking ICT availability to leadership behavior. This study is an early attempt to highlight the potential of ICT availability demand to serve as an antecedent to daily supervisor undermining and supervisory coaching.

The article discusses the relevance of using information and communication technologies (ICT) in higher mathematical education within the context of the contemporary educational environment characterized by rapid technological changes. It is noted that effective utilization of ICT, such as electronic journals, multimedia technologies, testing systems, and computer mathematics systems, contributes to the improvement of the teaching and learning process. Emphasis is placed on the necessity of reviewing and modifying teaching methodologies for mathematical disciplines to integrate innovative solutions. Furthermore, the use of information and communication technologies in higher mathematical education is deemed highly relevant due to the rapid development of the modern technological environment and the needs of the contemporary job market. The implementation of electronic journals, multimedia technologies, testing systems, and computer mathematics not only enhances the efficiency of teaching mathematical disciplines but also helps create a solid foundation for the future professional success of students. Electronic journals serve not only as convenient tools for administrative processes but also as platforms for active interaction among students, teachers, and administration, fostering the development of academic community and stimulating discussions and collaboration. Multimedia technologies, such as video lessons, interactive exercises, and simulations, provide students with opportunities to better grasp material and understand complex concepts, opening up new possibilities for personalized learning and adaptation to various learning styles. Testing systems, particularly those based on interactive platforms, enable instructors to effectively monitor students' knowledge and track their progress, as well as provide opportunities for personalized learning through automatic adaptation of task complexity Computer mathematics systems, including software packages for numerical and symbolic computations, become an integral part of modern mathematical education, empowering students to efficiently solve complex mathematical problems and explore new concepts, thus stimulating their creative potential and innovative approach to problem-solving. Together with educational platforms and distance learning systems, these tools contribute to the modernization and optimization of the educational process, leading to the improvement of the quality of higher mathematical education and the preparation of qualified professionals for the contemporary world.

Navigating Social Work Field Education during the COVID-19 Pandemic: Challenges, Benefits and Opportunities

In March 2020, the University of Guyana suspended face-to-face activities, requiring academic programmes and social work field education to reconfigure to virtual modalities. This paper revisits the impact of COVID-19 on social work education to examine the challenges, benefits, and opportunities to lecturers and students. Using a qualitative approach, a document analysis was conducted on lecturers’ journal entries and field notes, and 56 reflective reports submitted by students. The findings revealed self-reports of anxiety, loss of support of practice teachers, disappointment, and burnout. In spite of the challenges experienced, the analysis revealed that the peer-substitution practice dyads allowed students to develop their interpersonal and counselling skills. Additional findings suggest that there were opportunities for lecturers and the Social Work Unit to pilot the use of information communication technologies, create a framework for virtual monitoring of students, and demonstrate their commitment to preserving the signature pedagogy of social work education. We conclude that the COVID-19 pandemic has served as an impetus for the national University to continue exploring and implementing new approaches to advance the growth of social work programmes.

Pemasangan Jaringan Internet Berbasis WiFi Untuk Meningkatkan Akses Komunikasi Warga Di Desa Durian

Durian Village is a village located in Janapria District, Central Lombok Regency. Currently, there is an internet network available in Durian Village, but the speed and quality of the internet network in several places is not good. The condition of infrastructure in Durian Village is still very poor, especially internet access is still very limited, while communication needs are increasing. The aim of this community service program is to install a WiFi-based internet network to improve communication access for residents and the use of information and communication technology (ICT) for the people of Durian Village, Janapria District. Internet installation begins with preparing the device and planning the location of the device so that the signal coverage can be wider. Installation of internet network infrastructure where needed and wider coverage for residents. The implementation of the internet installation was also assisted by STMIK Lombok students. After installing the internet network, the internet network signal area is tested. Internet network testing is carried out by testing signal strength and internet speed which is found to be sufficient to meet internet access standards for communication access and running streaming media applications.
