Authorship Analysis, Social Networks and Catalan

This paper presents data that can help determine whether factors such as gender or age can become significant in authorship analysis through X in Catalan. Considering the principles of forensic linguistics (in particular, authorship analysis and idiolectal style), 500 publications have been analyzed from a stylistic point of view, focusing on three discursive aspects: specific features of X, pragmatic variables and stylistic variables. Contrary to what some authors have found for English X users (Cicres, 2015), the paper shows that, in Catalan, emoticons, exclamations or letter multiplication are not distinctive features for gender or age. However, elements such as the concatenation of hashtags, the use of links, the intensification of first-person subject pronouns, the use of capital letters or the use suspension points can be meaningful for age ¾but not for gender. This paper thus constitutes a first step towards finding truly distinctive elements in the use of X in Catalan, even though more studies, with larger corpora, need to be done to confirm these tendencies.

The benefit of this research for society is that it can increase the insight of writers and readers, and it can increase knowledge of information that does not yet exist, namely information related to education. The data taken in this research is an analysis of language errors and punctuation in news texts in the February 2024 edition of detik.com articles as appropriate reading materials and sources of information.

This research aims to determine and improve students' critical thinking skills in Indonesian language errors in writing papers for students in the biology education study program at Medan State University, which was carried out using a qualitative descriptive approach. Through qualitative descriptive research methods, researchers provide a real picture of what happened in the field, namely language errors in a biology education student's paper at Medan State University. The technique for collecting data used reading and note-taking techniques. In this research, the intralinguistic analysis method is used, namely an analysis method that compares linguistic elements with reference to the meaning of these language elements (linguistic properties). Includes errors ranging from the use of capital letters, italics and bold letters. The data source in this research is papers from biology education students at Medan State University. The results of this research show that the analysis of language errors contained in student papers is in the form of Indonesian spelling errors which include errors ranging from the use of capital letters, italics and bold letters. From the overall results of this research, 25 usage errors were found. Errors in the use of letters include 6 errors in the use of capital letters, 13 errors in the use of italics, and 6 errors in the use of bold letters. Errors in the use of Indonesian spelling occur because students are not careful, pay less attention and do not master the rules of good and correct writing so that there are still several errors that appear in writing papers.

This research aims to analyze language errors in the spelling of preschool students. In the student's thesis abstract, writing errors were found. Students' mistakes when writing their thesis abstracts are sometimes not using the correct Indonesian spelling. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method and data collection procedure techniques in the form of observation. Based on the research results, the samples taken were 7 abstract data and student books at Medan State University, Early Childhood Education Teacher Education Study Program. In writing abstracts there is language spelling that is not correct according to the Enhanced Indonesian Spelling (EYD) guidelines, namely in the use of prepositions, use of capital letters, writing full stops, use of italics and errors in writing words. There are 7 spelling error data contained in the abstracts and PGPAUD student books. Based on the results of the discussion above, it can be concluded that the author is inaccurate in using language spelling in capital letters, italics, words with affixes, use of abbreviations, use of punctuation.

This research method is a qualitative method with data collection techniques in the form of a literature study of the CJR Cell Biology PSPB 2022 B report. The results of this research show that each group has errors related to the use of language spelling. Research conclusions regarding errors in using the order of writing a sentence, including the use of capital letters and punctuation that do not comply with EBI.

Errors in Descriptive Essay Text for Fifth-Grade Elementary School Students

Writing activities make students active in learning and stimulate the ability to put words together. However, teachers need help guiding students in learning to write. This research analyzes errors in the descriptive text of fifth-grade elementary school students. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research. The research design used is a qualitative descriptive design. The population in this study was 20 fifth-grade students at an elementary school. This research data collection method uses document recording. The research instrument used in this research is documentation notes. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative. The research results showed 14 errors in word formation (morphology), including one error in the prefix, five errors in using the di- form, and one in reduplication. Sentence (syntax) errors totaled 15, including sentences without a subject totaling five errors, doubling the subject amounting to one error, illogical sentences totaling three errors, ambiguous sentences or ambiguous sentences totaling two errors, deletion of conjunctions totaling one error, sentence order incorrectly logically amounted to one error, and sentences influenced by foreign language structures amounted to one error. There were 25 spelling errors, including four errors in the use of capital letters in the title of the essay, nine errors in the use of capital letters at the beginning of sentences, eight errors in the use of capital letters in the middle of sentences, and four errors in the use of abbreviations and acronyms.

The Use of Journalistic Language in Writing Religious Rubrics in the Malut Post Newspaper

The Wisdom of Ramadan rubric is a religious rubric owned by the Malut Post Newspaper. The purpose of this study is to find out how journalistic language is used in writing religious rubrics in the Malut Post newspaper and what mistakes are often made in writing this rubric. This research uses content analysis method, with filling system technique by Wimmer and Dominick. From the research conducted, there are research results, namely (1) the use of journalistic language in writing religious rubrics in the Malut Post newspaper is in accordance with the use of journalistic language, and has followed journalistic writing standards but not perfectly. Therefore, it cannot be denied that there are still mistakes that occur in writing religious rubrics. (2) There are several mistakes made repeatedly in writing religious rubrics such as the use of capital letters, wasting words, writing EYD/KBBI, clarity of messages, mistakes in using punctuation marks, and mistakes in using italics. Therefore, with this research, print media should have repeated and detailed checks in accordance with journalistic language or good and correct language.

To the History of Capital Letters Use in Writing Pronouns (Based on Articles by Nikolai M. Karamzin of 1802–1803)

The article examines the problem of codifying the norms for the use of capital letters in the Russian texts of the second half of the 18th — first half of the 19th centuries. The author argues that during this period there was a significant number of textbooks, grammars, which determined the features of capital letters use, while they implemented one of two models for constructing this section — with a brief or lengthy description of the rules. In particular, in most grammars there is a rule of using capital letters when writing pronouns. Based on three articles by Nikolai M. Karamzin of 1802–1803, the author demonstrates that the usage of the author’s texts by Karamzin differs significantly from the norms fixed by grammars. On the one hand, the area of capital letters use when writing pronouns by Karamzin is broader and covers cases of use not described by grammars: a) reflexive, relative and attributive pronouns (along with personal and possessive pronouns noted by grammars), while in most cases (46 out of 50) pronouns are used in the anaphoric function; b) forms of indirect cases (in grammars examples of the use of words in the form of the nominative case are given); c) pronouns correlated with the names of monarchs who ruled in previous eras. On the other hand, in contexts that require the use of capital letters, pronouns can be written in lowercase letters. It is suggested that the use of capital letters when writing pronouns in the texts of Karamzin can be explained by the same reason as the use of capital letters when writing nouns, noted by Yu. M. Lotman and B. A. Uspensky: in some cases, capital letters are used by Karamzin as a means of creating a certain author’s modality of the text.

This research is motivated by the errors seen when students write capital letters and punctuation marks in a sentence that is made. This research was conducted using a method that is descriptive qualitative, where this method involves direct research, in observing an object under study, which aims to examine errors when using capital letters and punctuation marks in an essay that has been made by students and female students. The data collection from the research results is explained together with the location of the errors and explained in words. In this study, the subjects studied were third grade students of SDN Banjarsari 113 with a total of 32 students and third grade teachers of SDN Banjarsari 113. The research employs documentation, interviews, and observation as methods for collecting data. Data review was carried out by collecting data, data selection process, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the research conducted found several errors in the application of capital letters and punctuation marks. These errors include the writing and placement of capital letters in a sentence, mistakenly placing punctuation marks in a sentence made, and errors in the application of capital letters usually occur in the initial word which is the first sentence, in new sentences, in sentence substitutions, place names and names of people. The cause of these errors is because students still write casually, do not pay attention to the proper application of capital letters and punctuation marks, do not understand the use of capital letters and punctuation marks themselves, and are unfocused or do not pay attention when the teacher explains, then forget the proper writing of capital letters and punctuation marks, so it is wrong when applying them.

The source of data in this research is the speech texts of students of the Department of Indonesian Language and Literature Education Semester 5, Faculty of Letters and Culture, Gorontalo State University in the 2022/2023 academic year. The data in this study are sentences that contain spelling mistakes in accordance with EYD in the form of letter usage, word writing, punctuation usage, and writing of absorbed elements. The number of speech texts in the research is 40 speech texts. The data collection techniques used in this research are documentation, reading technique, and note-taking technique. The data analysis technique in this research goes through several stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, data inference and verification, and final conclusion. The results of this study show that there are three forms of spelling errors in speech texts written by students, namely the use of letters, word writing, and the use of punctuation marks. The errors in the use of letters include errors in the use of capital letters as many as 20 errors consisting of errors in writing titles, geographic names, and greetings. Meanwhile, there were 5 italicization errors consisting of foreign language writing errors. Word writing errors in the form of preposition writing errors consist of 10 errors. Punctuation errors include 5 period errors and 27 comma errors.

The problem in this research is that there are still students who still make mistakes in writing their thesis and also in using punctuation marks and the solution that the researcher provides is to upload the file to Google Drive and carry out analysis using Google Doc. The objectives of this research are (1) To find out language spelling errors in preparing thesis proposals for PGMI STAIBR Sibuhuan students. (2) To find out writing errors in STAIBR Sibuhuan student theses. (3) To describe spelling errors in using capital letters, errors in using italics, and errors in using bold letters in PGMI STAIBR Sibuhuan student theses. In this research the author used a type of field research, the design used was qualitative research, namely research that produces data in the form of written or spoken words from the people being observed. The researcher checked the validity of the data by means of source triangulation and technical triangulation. Source triangulation is triangulation carried out by interviewing various sources, such as the head of the library and lecturers, students from the class of 2017. However, the results obtained must remain the same. Meanwhile, technical triangulation is triangulation carried out by researchers by collecting different data from the same source. By using triangulation techniques in data collection, the data obtained will be better and more certain. Analysis of errors in writing prepositions in, to and from students' theses at the Islamic High School Teacher Education Study Program (PGMI). Islam Barumun Raya (STAIBR) Sibuhuan is due to ignorance that the writing must be written separately from the words of its followers or a combination of words that are commonly considered as one word. Analysis of errors in the use of punctuation marks in students' theses at the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education Study Program (PGMI) Barumun Islamic College Raya (STAIBR) Sibuhuan errors which include errors in the use of the period punctuation mark (.), errors in the use of the comma punctuation mark (,), errors in the use of the colon (:), and errors in the use of the question mark (?) errors. Punctuation errors are caused by differences in perception in the use of punctuation marks in accordance with EYD guidelines.
 

Analisis Kesalahan Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia di Ruang Publik Rumah Sakit Dian Harapan Tahun 2022

Public space is a space or land owned by the public, a place for people to do activities, and a place to socialize. The use of the Indonesian language in public spaces is regulated in Law No. 24 of 2009 Article 38 that the Indonesian language must be used in public signs, road signs, public facilities, banners, and other information tools which are public services. This study aims to describe errors in the use of spelling and writing in foreign languages in the public spaces at Dian Harapan Hospital in 2022. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods that is to understand holistically phenomenon by using descriptions in the words and language's form. The data collection method used in the research are observation and documentation of photos and pictures taken from public spaces at Dian Harapan Hospital on August 2002. Based on the research on 50 photos/images of signs in the public space at Dian Harapan Hospital, 2 errors were found in the use of capital letters, 30 errors in writing abbreviations, 1 error in writing prepositions, 1 error in writing numbers, 4 errors in writing commas, 1 error in writing slash marks, and 12 errors in writing exclamation marks. The spelling errors in the public space at Dian Harapan Hospital occured due to a lack of knowledges about spelling rules (EYD V) and the absence of strict and real punishments on the errors and violations in using the language in the public spaces.

Analysis of Errors in Using Words and Punctuation on Housing Advertising Banners in Jatiasih District, Bekasi City and Their Implications for Indonesian Language Learning

This study aims to analyze the errors in the use of words and punctuation on housing advertisement banners. The purpose of this study is to find out and describe the forms of word errors and punctuation on housing advertisement banners. This type of research is qualitative research which describes the data using a series of sentences. The method in this study is a qualitative method based on the philosophy of postpositivism, used to research on natural object conditions, (as opposed to experiments) where the researcher is the key instrument. Data collection techniques are carried out triangulation (combined), data analysis is inductive/qualitative, and the results of qualitative research emphasize eating more than generalization. The research technique used is to describe and understand the existence of errors in the use of words and punctuation on housing advertisement banners. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the form of errors in the use of the word aspects of accuracy, and aspects of conformity was found. Errors in the use of punctuation consisting of: (1) errors in the use of punctuation marks (.), (2) errors in the use of punctuation marks (,), (3) errors in the use of punctuation marks (-), (4) errors in the use of punctuation marks punctuation (-), (5) errors in the use of exclamation marks (!), (6) errors in the use of quotation marks (“…”), (7) errors in the use of single quotation marks ('...') , and (8) errors in using slash punctuation (/). In writing one must understand the rules of writing, one of which is the use of standard words and the use of PUEBI, so that writing complies with good and correct rules in the use of capital letters, punctuation marks , and word writing

KESALAHAN PENYUSUNAN TEKS EDITORIAL SISWA KELAS XII SMA NEGERI 9 MAKASSAR

This study aims to describe the form of spelling, and diction in the preparation of editorial texts prepared by class XII students of SMA Negeri 9 Makassar. This research uses descriptive qualitative research. The data in this study are students' editorial text writings that contain sentence errors in the editorial text structure, namely opinion statement, argumentation, and reaffirmation of opinion. The data source in this study is the results of students' editorial text writing. data analysis is done by data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study revealed that the analysis of students' editorial text preparation errors was found to be varied which included spelling errors, diction errors and paragraph errors. Spelling errors can be in the form of errors in the use of capital letters, the use of italics, writing derivative words, writing abbreviations and acronyms, using full stops, using commas, using dashes, and writing prepositions. Diction errors are in the form of word accuracy, word rigidity, word simplicity, and word prevalence. Paragraph Errors can be seen from the completeness of the paragraph.

Analisis Kesalahan Berbahasa Indonesia Tataran Ejaan Menulis Karangan Siswa Kelas VIII SMP Negeri 7 Gunungsitoli

This research aims to analyze language errors in the expository essays of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 7 Gunungsitoli. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The data for this research is the worksheet of students who wrote expository essays. The data source in this research was class VIII students at SMP Negeri 7 Gunungsitoli. The data analysis techniques used are data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Based on the research results, it shows that spelling errors in class VIII students at SMP Negeri 7 Gunungsitoli included 104 errors consisting of: 48 errors in the use of capital letters were found, including 27 errors in usage at the beginning of sentences, 18 errors in place names, in There is 1 error in the divine name, and there are 2 errors in the title of the essay. There was only 1 error in using italics. There were 25 errors in writing derived words, including 24 errors in the prefix and 1 error in the suffix. There were 6 errors in writing the word re-form. There were 6 errors in writing prepositions found. There were 18 errors in the use of punctuation marks, including 8 errors in the use of the dot (.), 4 errors in the use of the comma (,) and 6 errors in the use of the hyphen (-).

ANALISIS KESALAHAN PENULISAN HURUF KAPITAL DAN PENGGUNAAN TANDA BACA PADA KARANGAN DESKRIPSI

The problem in this study is that composing is often described as an activity that has not taken place as expected. Not a few students often experience difficulties in dealing with writing descriptions. Writing is expressing thoughts through writing. Errors in writing capital letters and using inappropriate punctuation often occur in student writing. Data collection activities in this study used observation techniques (observing) with note-taking techniques. The data collection method used in this research is documentation. Teacher and student interview data techniques. Test technique. Data analysis techniques use the Miles and Huberman concepts which include (1) data collection, (2) data reduction, (3) data presentation (4) conclusions. In this study, the data was in written form, in the form of errors in capital letters, punctuation and descriptive essays. Based on the results of the study, it was found that there were errors in the use of capital letters (A), full stop punctuation (.), (2) errors in the use of comma punctuation (,). In writing, one must understand the rules of writing, one of which is standard writing and the use of PUEBI, so that writing is in accordance with good and correct rules in writing capital letters, punctuation.

PENGGUNAAN BAHASA INDONESIA PADA PAPAN INFORMASI DI RUANG PUBLIK UIN SYARIF HIDAYATULLAH JAKARTA

This study aims to describe the use of language in the public space of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. This research will provide a deeper understanding of the types of language used in posters and information boards and identify relevant patterns and trends in language use. The research method used is descriptive qualitative by collecting data through observation and documentation. The results and conclusions of this study indicate that there are errors in the use of language in formal and informal forms on posters and information boards at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training. These errors include errors in spelling, punctuation, use of capital letters, and standard words. Apart from that, banner boards were also found that used good and polite language in a linguistic context, the use of good and correct Indonesian in public spaces complied with linguistic rules related to EYD and standard grammar. Rules regarding the use of Indonesian in public places are also regulated in Law Number 24 of 2009. Therefore, it is important to correct mistakes in the use of Indonesian in public spaces, especially in educational settings such as universities.
