An effective approach for reducing data redundancy in multi-agent system communication

The redundancy of the data is an active research topic. While an agent works in a multi-agent system, the number of messages between them increases. This is due to the fact that the functionalities data depends on other agents in terms of functional requirements. Typically, only one agent in a multi-agent system is responsible for accessing a database instead of replicating the database on each agent. A database is stored on multiple agents rather than a single agent to avoid a single point of failure. In this approach, the system has a higher load because one agent is responsible for all agent queries and must send duplicate messages to multiple agents, resulting in redundant data. In this research, we present Multi-Agent System for Commodity Data (MASCD) framework, the multi-agent system based communication using the distributed hash system, to reduce data redundancy in multi-agent system communication. Our anticipated method demonstrated how we divided the database names and efficiently distributed data to each agent. The database splitting is based on manufacturer names or product names. We utilize a table based on prime numbers. Through the hash function, we ascertain the index of the agent granted access to the relevant data. Each agent is accountable for its data. We use a Distributed Hash Table for efficient querying that stores data as key-value pairs. Each agent maintains a Finger Table containing the next and previous nodes for agent communication purposes. Using FIPA messages, we demonstrated how an agent could interact optimally. In conclusion, we illustrate the application of the proposed approach through a case study of mobile phones and university information systems.

Information support of e-learning: ukrainian challenges and cases during the war

ObjectivesThe work is devoted to the description of the e-learning environment as an element of the information system for ensuring the activities of the university. The relationship between the processes of building a digital economy and digitalization of the educational system is shown. During 2019-2022 there was a certain evolution from classroom learning, to distance learning synchronous and asynchronous learning. Based on bibliometric analysis, it is possible to formulate the purpose of the article: a description of a student-oriented university information system and an asynchronous e-learning system.Material and methodsThe information base for this study is based on scientific articles, monographs by Ukrainian and foreign authors and the authors' own empirical research. The main method of the study was bibliometric analysis using the VOSviewer software tool to analyze the relationships between different categories and build maps to visualize the interconnectedness between them in publications indexed by the Scopus database.ResultsThe information system for organizing the educational activities of the university includes autonomous blocks, which at the same time are important links in the process of ensuring the quality of e-learning. The e-learning environment, including asynchronous, requires not only content creation, but also organizational and technical support for online, blended, or remote learning.ConclusionsAn effectively organized e-learning system will create an effective environment in which the goals of sustainable development will be achieved through the provision of quality education and the achievement of economic growth. The use of various types of distance learning can be useful for other countries under certain circumstances regarding movement restrictions.

Methods for Testing, Assessment and Analysis of the Security of University Information Systems

The methods for testing, evaluating and analyzing the security of university information systems aim to build a unified framework that leads to an increase in information security in this type of institution, which is characterized by the administration of a huge volume of sensitive information of a diverse nature. Security testing is a multifaceted process involving steps to ensure the safety of systems in their entirety. The proposed methods have been tested with three systems of the University of National and World Economy, and one of them is presented here; and conclusions are drawn to increase security and include the described procedures as a permanent practice.

With the help of promotion, products from the Kartika Chips shop are better known by many people and can cover a wider market, because promotions are carried out digitally, namely using the website as a promotional tool and media. After the team did an evaluation, there were no problems with the results of partner satisfaction with this product promotion website.

Change in demand for health-related undergraduate studies in Spain during 2015–2021: a temporal series study

Introduction The expansion of higher education is a worldwide phenomenon. To our knowledge, there are no studies analyzing the trends in demands of enrollment in health-related studies in Spain. Therefore, the objective was to analyze the change in demand (the number of requests for enrollment divided by the number of offered places) for undergraduate health-related studies in Spain during the period 2015–2021 as well as compare the change by region in the pre (2015–2019) and pandemic (2020–2021) period. Methods This is an observational (ecological type) study with temporal series analyses using data from public (non-for-profit) higher education institutions from the Integrated University Information System. For the analysis by region, we calculated the demand of all twelve undergraduate health-related degrees and the percentages of change between both periods using the Wilcoxon test. The Joinpoint Regression program was used to analyze the trends in demand for each degree during the 7-year period. Results Significant (p < 0.001) increases in demand during the pandemic period were observed in all regions. During the pandemic, medicine, biomedicine, nursing, odontology and pharmacy presented a higher demand in comparison with data collected before the pandemic started. In contrast, this pattern was not confirmed in the following cases: physiotherapy, occupational therapy, podiatry, psychology, social work, human nutrition and dietetics. By regions, Navarra, Asturias, and La Rioja presented the most drastic changes. In regions with the biggest number of universities, such as Catalonia, Andalusia and Madrid, the change observed was smaller.

The mining method of integrating the thinking and political elements of curriculum into English teaching based on big data technology

Abstract In order to explore the integration path of curriculum Civics in English teaching, this paper proposes the construction method of students’ Civics behavioral portrait based on big data technology to mine the behavioral data of English majors. The behavioral data of students were collected with the help of various information systems in universities, and the processed data were clustered and analyzed based on the K-means algorithm. For the uncertainty of the K-value and initial center, the PCA method is used to reduce the dimensionality of the initial data, and the density Canopy clustering replaces the pre-processing process in the K-means algorithm. The average purity of clusters reached 0.88. From the mining effect, in the teaching theme of “people and society”, the main Civics elements are social service, science and technology, with heat values of 0.407 and 0.352. Big data the technology has provided strong support for the integration of Civics and English teaching.

By using the webqual 4.0 method—focusing on usability, information quality, and service interaction quality—this research seeks to measure user (student) satisfaction. Partial acceptance of the hypotheses H1, H2, and H3 was achieved based on the t test results obtained with the values X1, This is shown by the t table test value of 1.995. Student satisfaction levels may be influenced by factors such as usability of the service, quality of information, and quality of user interaction with the service.

Research and Implementation of Networked Student Management Information System in Colleges and Universities Based on Decision tree Algorithm

Information management work, so as to improve the level of education management.

La prueba de Historia de España para acceder a la universidad: análisis y comparación entre comunidades autónomas

The university entry procedure is a critical aspect for students gaining entry to higher education. This work has a dual purpose: to analyse the structure of the Spanish History test for university entry, according to the autonomous region in which it is designed, and to study the relationship between the differences observed in the structure and average performance obtained by students. A comparative analysis has been carried out with a methodological approach of rational analysis of documentary evidence with sixty-eight exams from 2019, adapting the approach proposed by García-Garrido (1991). Likewise, a secondary analysis has been conducted of the data published annually by the Integrated University Information System. The results show substantial differences in the assessment of national historical knowledge: in the structure and content, in the cognitive level and in the marks. Disparities are specifically observed in the language of the test, in the optional nature, in the number of questions and in the content blocks that are assessed: in Catalonia, Valencia and the Basque Country, neither Ancient History nor the Middle Ages, nor the Modern Era are assessed. Likewise, the Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Cantabria, Castile-La Mancha and Castile and León demand a higher cognitive level from their students. These aspects determine the heterogeneity in the constructs used, in such a way that neither the same understanding nor the same skills of national historical knowledge are being measured throughout the autonomous regions.

Augmented intelligence in programming learning: Examining student views on the use of ChatGPT for programming learning

With the diversification of generative artificial intelligence (AI) applications, the interest in their use in every segment and field of society in recent years has been increasing rapidly. One of these areas is programming learning and program writing processes. One of the generative AI tools used for this purpose is ChatGPT. The use of ChatGPT in program writing processes has become widespread, and this tool has a certain potential in the programming process. However, when the literature is examined, research results related to using ChatGPT for this purpose have yet to be found. The existing literature has a gap that requires exploration. This study aims to analyze the students' perspectives on using ChatGPT in the field of programming and programming learning. The study encompassed a cohort of 41 undergraduate students enrolled in a public university's Computer Technology and Information Systems department. The research was carried out within the scope of the Object-Oriented Programming II course for eight weeks. Throughout the research process, students were given project assignments related to the course every week, and they were asked to use ChatGPT while solving them. The research data was collected using a form consisting of open-ended questions and analyzed through content analysis. The research findings revealed both the advantages and disadvantages of ChatGPT usage, as perceived by the students. The students stated that the main benefits of using ChatGPT in programming learning are providing fast and mostly correct answers to questions, improving thinking skills, facilitating debugging, and increasing self-confidence. On the other hand, the main limitations of using ChatGPT in programming education were getting students used to laziness, being unable to answer some questions, or giving incomplete/incorrect answers, causing professional anxiety in students. Based on the results of the research, it can be said that it would be useful to integrate generative AI tools into programming courses considering the advantages they provide in programming teaching. However, appropriate measures should be taken regarding the limitations it brings. Based on the research findings, several recommendations were proposed regarding the integration of ChatGPT into lessons.

A compassionate university for serious illness, death, and bereavement: Qualitative study of student and staff experiences and support needs

Serious illness, death, and bereavement are common experiences within the work and study context. This study aims to explore the experiences and support needs of university students and staff confronted with serious illness, death, and bereavement. Semi-structured interviews and focus groups were conducted with 21 students and 26 staff. A thematic analysis resulted in three overarching themes: the university as a high-pressure environment; navigating the complex university information and support system; and disenfranchized grief. Four themes were identified in terms of what participants needed from the university: clear processes and procedures; flexibility in policy application; proactive support and recognition; and activities to enhance awareness and interpersonal communication skills. Findings from this study could enable higher education institutions to become more compassionate schools and workplaces.

Increasing the satisfaction with the Integrated System for Academic Activity Management: prioritizing improvements with a structural equations model

This research aims to identify improvements for the Integrated System for Academic Activity Management (SIGAA) based on the main factors that affect user satisfaction with academic information systems. The study presents the structural equations model and importance-performance analysis as a basis for improving system requirements. this research is exploratory and quantitative through the modeling of structural equations. A questionnaire was used to collect data, and the total sample size was 153 people. The results revealed that the most important variables to explain user satisfaction were information quality (30.33%), system quality (21.77%), and perceived benefits (21.61%). Thus, user satisfaction was explained 72.5% by the proposed structural model. The results achieved help improve the university information system. The importance of performance analysis pointed out indicated the priority of actions to be taken, and the mapping of processes presented possibilities of increasing requirements to increase the satisfaction of the system's users.

Design Of Strategic Information System Blueprint With Enterprise Architecture Planning Method

The rapid and dynamic development of information technology in today's digital era has a significant impact on organizations in managing information and data. This also applies to universities that need to optimize data and information management in order to improve service quality and organizational performance. Therefore, it is necessary to design an appropriate and integrated strategic information system, which is able to support the decision-making process effectively and efficiently, as well as integrate various functions and processes in various organizational units on campus. Enterprise is a set of organizations that have several general goals / principles and / or a baseline. Higher education is one of the enterprises engaged in education. The increasing need for data and information in business functions carried out by a university is one of the drivers of the use of information systems in universities. Therefore, in this study will be designed on 3 (three) architectural models, namely data architecture, architecture, applications and technology architectures using the Enterprise Architecture Planning (EAP) method.

The Mediating Role of Performance Measurement System in the Relationship between Information Technology Capabilities and University Performance

To improve performance, higher education institutions (HEIs) have attempted to formulate performance measurement system (PMS) policy and information technology (IT) development. The purpose of this study is to examine the role of IT capability on financial performance and operational performance of private HEIs in Indonesia through PMS implementation as mediating variable. Using purposive sampling method, 149 questionnaire responses obtained from private HEIs located on Java Island, Indonesia. The respondents are head of human resource and finance department and person in charge of technology and information systems in the sample universities. The data were analysed using the Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) method. This study found that IT capabilities were only associated with both financial and operational performance indirectly through PMS implementation. Thus, this study confirmed that PMS played a role as mediating variable. This study contributes to the develop the body of knowledge, especially related to the role of IT capabilities and PMS role in enhancing both the financial and operational performance of HEIs. Practically, this research provides beneficial suggestions for HEI management to improve HEI performance.

The Structure of Management Information System and its Impact on the Management of the Corona Crisis in Jordanian Universities

Purpose: This paper aims to identify the impact of structuring management information systems in managing the Corona crisis in Jordanian universities. Theoretical Framework: This paper discusses the impact of structuring management information systems in Jordanian universities in managing the Corona crisis. In addition, how has the organizational and administrative structure of Jordanian universities impacted the management of the Corona crisis? and the role of technical structuring in Jordanian university crisis management? Design/methodology/approach: The population of this study include all public and private Jordanian universities, and the sample consisted of (384) respondents from the deans of academic faculties, heads of departments, and members of the teaching staff in these universities, this paper considered one of the field research in which the researcher followed the descriptive analytical method, The data were analyzed using the statistical package for the social sciences program, and the hypotheses were tested using arithmetic means, standard deviation, and multiple and simple linear regression analysis. Findings: The results showed a statistically significant effect of the elements of the structuring of management information systems (organizational, administrative and technical structuring) in managing the Corona crisis in Jordanian universities, and it was found that the universities responded immediately to contain the Corona crisis by the way of distributing tasks in a short period when it occurs, and as periodic meetings were held to prepare to deal with the Corona crisis. Research, Practical & Social implications: The structuring of management information systems plays a major role in the growth and development of the global economy. Therefore, management information systems and its various tools have become the mainstay and technical base for advancement in the field of e-business, telecommunications, e-commerce, and e-government. Originality/value: This study sheds light on the degree to which Jordanian private universities (student community) keep up with contemporary administrative systems, concepts, and models, in particular with regard to the impact of structuring management information systems in managing the Corona crisis in Jordanian private universities, which are regarded as one of the interdisciplinary research centers in the world.

Characteristics of undergraduate and second speciality mental health programmes in Peru: a cross-sectional study

BackgroundThis study aims to describe the training offered and the availability of professionals required by the Ministry of Health for mental health problems management in the community.MethodsA cross-sectional study was carried out on the training offered in mental health in Peruvian universities. A search for programs was conducted using the University Information System database and universities' websites, as well as using the Ministry of Health's database on health personnel and data on the number of enrolled and current students provided by the University Information System database and the Transparency section of the universities.ResultsThere were 214 undergraduate, 55 specialty and 7 subspecialty programmes, of which 39%, 47% and 100%, respectively, were offered in the capital city. The duration ranged from 5 to 7 years for undergraduate programs and from 1 to 3 years for subspecialty and second specialty programs. The cost of undergraduate programs ranged from free of charge up to USD 6863.75 for the first semester of study. Second specialty programs ranged from 720 up to 11 986 USD and subspecialty programs ranged from 2267 up to 9138 USD, with medicine being the most expensive. On the other hand, there are a greater number of psychology students (n = 78 781) pursuing undergraduate studies than working professionals (n = 5368), while in the second specialty of psychiatry there are far fewer students pursuing the specialty (n = 67) than working professionals (n = 454).ConclusionsThe problem of professional training in mental health requires that the institutions involved in health and education develop policies to decentralize programs, communicate the demand for professionals in certain areas, make them accessible to the low-income population, respond to mental health problems and guarantee their quality. On the other hand, regarding the low number of mental health personnel working, it is suggested to increase the mental health budget to generate more mental health services and employment.

EXPERIENCE IN DEVELOPING OF THE UNIVERSITY INFORMATION SYSTEM

The process of development and functionality of the university information system “Digital Profile & Electronic Portfolio Management System for Employees, Teachers and Students (E-TUTOR)” – the programme designed for organisational, administrative, technical and informational support of the educational organisation activities when implementing basic professional educational programmes in accordance with the federal state educational standards of higher education – is described in the article. The choice of design methodology and approaches to the selection of the development team is presented with the description of the development tool as well as the system functionality; the ways of the system development are outlined.

Development of a Website-Based Sexual Violence Management Information System in Higher Education

This study aims to (1) comprehensively describe the design of web-based sexual violence information systems (SIM) in universities, (2) Describe sexual violence efforts in (3) Explore and explain the role of web-based Management Information Systems (SIM) in efforts to prevent sexual violence in Higher Education. This research was designed with the type of Research and Development research. This type is directed to show facts or events systematically and accurately regarding certain conditions as the focus of the study. The data collection method is carried out in three ways, including: (1) observation, (2) interview, (3) questionnaire, (4) documentation. All four are carried out in a planned manner to obtain complete and relevant data. The collected data are then analyzed using induction techniques, namely by drawing conclusions ranging from specific statements or facts to conclusions of a general nature. Research reports are presented in the form of detailed descriptive descriptions, equipped with product prototypes, images and tables as the scope of discussion. The findings of this study show that (1) the sexual violence management information system in higher education is a form of service that manages data into information with the support of website facilities as a medium of interaction, (2) efforts to prevent sexual violence in universities include task force making activities, training and workshops on sexual violence assistance, and (3) the role of web-based management information systems in preventing sexual violence in universities as a form of university commitment to make decisions / policies in developing educational institutions, and also helping service users (stakeholders) to channel their aspire for the development of institutions.

МОДЕЛЬ ИНТЕЛЛЕКТУАЛЬНОЙ ИНФОРМАЦИОННООБРАЗОВАТЕЛЬНОЙ СИСТЕМЫ ВОЕННОГО ВУЗА В УСЛОВИЯХ ЦИФРОВОЙ ТРАНСФОРМАЦИИ ОБРАЗОВАНИЯ

The article reveals the purpose, functions and components of the model of the intellectual information and educational system of the military university. Peculiarities of the components of the intellectual information and educational system providing its functioning are described: digital educational platform; training management and monitoring system; analytical system of training support; intellectual system, providing personalized training; cyber security system. Opportunities of intellectualization of training in the implementation of the model in the electronic environment of the university are presented.
