University students’ research work as the most important component of professional training (the case of specialty 32.05.01 Medical and preventive care and training program 43.03.02 Tourism)

Scientific research and innovation play a key role in the modern world as determinants of the development of society, the economy and the state. It is quite obvious that awareness of the importance of developing research competencies in the process of professional training at a university will stimulate the involvement of students in scientific activities, which in the future will make a significant contribution to the development of society as a whole. The problem of the research is to identify students’ ideas about the state of research work at a university.The goal of the research is to reveal the state of students' research work in universities based on students' opinions. The research methods used are general scientific ones (analysis, comparison, generalization, synthesis), survey, explanatory and illustrative methods.The research results are the following: the importance of students' research activities has been substantiated; the opinions of students at a number of universities in the Russian Federation on modern trends in student research work was carried out; Factors that hinder the effective development of students' research work have been identified.Key conclusions: research work of students is an integral basic component of professional training; problems in organizing this type of activity have been identified (lack of understanding of the place of research work in the process of professional training, weak involvement of students, students’ research competencies are not sufficiently developed, etc.); factors inhibiting the active involvement of students in research efforts are employment of students, funding problems, the lack of an effective mechanism for motivating and stimulating young scientists, etc.

STUDY OF THE IMPORTANCE OF PSYCHOLOGICAL ATTITUDE IN THE PROCESS OF INCLUSIVE EDUCATION

The presented article discusses the psychological aspects of the process of inclusive education. In order for children with special educational needs to easily adapt to the environment and learn successfully, individual work and differential education methods gave pedagogical results, but their impact was weak and unstable through cases from real practice. In order to increase and stabilize the effectiveness of these methods, there was a need to use the theory of psychological attitudes. For this purpose, the assumption was made and the importance of ensuring the success of a student in the framework of the theory of psychological relations was substantiated. A positive self-assessment, which is based on a sense of self-worth, ensures the formation of a degree of independence of the student, which not only increases the success of his studies at school, but also serves as a guarantee of his life success. The end result is a long-term strategic orientation of the theory of psychological attitudes, which is focused on the maximum disclosure of the student's self-identity. The relevance of the space-time continuum of the theory of relativity (St), founded by A. Einstein in the period of quantum leaps and bounds, as it is today, is extremely high. Especially its importance increases many times in the process of inclusive education. The article presents a methodology for using the theory of psychological attitudes to establish the relationship between the child's cognition and behavior of the SED on the basis of previously studied situations. As a result of the purposeful laying of the theory of psychological attitude to the foundations of the educational space of an educational organization, the student's confidence in the context of their own characteristics and the improvement of their relationship with reality increases. Being the main approach here – "focus", it covers 4 zones: the current situation – the state of the student of the SED; the influence of space, that is, medium and time on it; the child's own attitude to the SED to the situation, as well as the degree of professional-specialized analysis of the situation. It was conducted jointly with scientists of the ICTU). The research base is Taraz regional university named after M. Kh. Dulaty; the experimental site is an educational organization No. 16 in the village of Kordai, Zhambyl region.

Opportunities to Increase the Efficiency of Universities’ Research and Innovation Activities: Scientometric Evaluation of Researchers' Work under External Information Constraints

The development of research and innovation should be a strategic direction of state policy in the sphere of education. This imposes additional functions connected not only with fundamental and applied research, which is the traditional type of research work of universities, but also with the inclusion of universities' research activities into the unified innovation process of the creation and practical application of new knowledge to obtain new goods or services with new properties. The aim of the article is to determine the ability of international scientometric databases to assess the research and innovation activity of Russian universities. The key research method is regression analysis used to establish the relationship between the Hirsch index values for research papers in the Scopus and Google Scholar databases. The paper shows the possibility and expediency of using Google Scholar to evaluate the results of research and innovation activities of medical universities' faculty. This allows increasing the efficiency of the scientometric evaluation of researchers under external information constraints. This corresponds well to the principles of functioning of an entrepreneurial university. The advantage of Google Scholar is the consideration of Russian-language publications in the indexing.

The question ‘Why are universities engaging in the conduct of research?’ has been widely asked by practitioners. This question is attached with doubts and the university’s key role in putting the research findings into policy, planning, and action processes. Most people have only learned that universities conduct academic research, use results for knowledge advancement, and create concepts and theories. Some people even seriously say that the publication of university research work is only displayed on library shelves. As Cambodia’s oldest public university and leading higher education institution, the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) promotes high-quality teaching and research practices to serve the community.

Automating the formation of statistical data on the results of research activities of the university

The paper considers the formation of the concept of scientific research (SR) of universities with the task of developing an automated tool for evaluating its results. Modern requirements and trends in the organization and management of scientific research work in universities are given. The role of information support and measurement procedures in assessing the results of scientific research are emphasized. The necessity of automating the processes and reporting data of university scientific research is substantiated. An analysis of works and publications on the automation of assessment of research work of universities is provided. Names of university research activity report data are systematized and described. The model of the process of forming the university research reports is presented, which will ensure the effectiveness of information support of scientific research.

Suspension of judgment, play and creativity in helping relationships

The relational field does not only concern psychiatric professionals. A school teacher has carried out a university research work on the specificity of the psychic processes which are the basis of the helping relationship. Situations experienced in a kindergarten class describe the relational complexity involved, as well as the questioning and doubts of the professional. Finally, constructive approaches propose alternatives for maintaining the link in the relationship.

ОСОБЕННОСТИ ОСУЩЕСТВЛЕНИЯ НАУЧНОИССЛЕДОВАТЕЛЬСКОЙ РАБОТЫ СТУДЕНТОВ В ВУЗАХ РЕСПУБЛИКИ КАЗАХСТАН

The article describes the results of the study related to obtaining information on improving the state of research work of students in universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Priority patterns obtained as a result of a survey of students over a number of years are highlighted. Hypothetical assumptions are put forward and their preliminary justifications are described. Recommendations on improving the functioning and effectiveness of research work in universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan are proposed.

ЕФЕКТИВНІСТЬ НАУКОВОЇ Й ІННОВАЦІЙНОЇ ДІЯЛЬНОСТІ УНІВЕРСИТЕТІВ УКРАЇНИ У КОНТЕКСТІ РЕАЛІЗАЦІЇ ФІНАНСОВОГО ПОТЕНЦІАЛУ ТА АКАДЕМІЧНОЇ РЕПУТАЦІЇ

The main features of the modern educational and scientific space are the rapid realization of knowledge, the ability to effectively operate scientific results, the development of new technologies and their spread in the world, the competition for intellectual and financial resources. Under such conditions, the ability of universities not only to disseminate but also to create new knowledge through research, to ensure their social and economic efficiency, are the main criteria of global competitiveness. Transforming the domestic science, education and production, defining strategic guidelines for innovative development, ensuring economic growth and the most effective distribution of available resources, especially through the improvement of the universities efficiency in the context of their intellectual, financial potential and academic reputation realization are important tasks of the state on the way to building a competitive national economy. The purpose of the article is to identify and evaluate the relationship between the results of research activities at Ukrainian universities, their financial potential and academic reputation. In accordance with the objectives, the article describes the existing sources and organization of academic research financing at Ukrainian state higher education institutions (HEIs), the scientific and innovative activity efficiency indicators are systematized, the comparative analysis of results of research work of universities of Ukraine taking into account sources and volumes of their financing is carried out and the interrelation between these indicators of scientific and innovative activity is estimated. The object of the study are the classical universities of Ukraine, which occupy leading positions in the national rankings of HEIs, in particular the ranking of universities according to Scopus. Analyzing with the help of information posted on the websites of the HEIs, the sample indicators of scientific and innovative activities of universities, their staffing and financial support, it was found that not always the scale of HEIs in its quantitative dimension affects efficiency. The analysis showed that there is no direct relationship between the financial potential of universities and the achievement of the highest scientific results. Thus, the amount of funding for scientific activities has a significant impact on the level of achievement of HEIs and its employees, but is not always used effectively. Important in the market environment is effective financial management, diversification of funding sources, targeted use of financial resources provided for research and innovation of universities, which in globalization allows to ensure a high level of research, an important place of Ukrainian universities in world science and international rankings, their competitiveness, among others, as well as the innovative development of the country as a whole.

ANALYTICAL REVIEW OF ADMIRAL MAKAROV NUS’s PUBLICATION ACTIVITY IN INTERNATIONAL SCIENTOMETRIC PLATFORMS

Objective. The article considers the analytical work of the Scientific Library of Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding (NUS) on the publishing activity of the university at the international scientometric platforms. Methods of the research are based on a systematic approach, structural-functional and scientometric analysis of methods for evaluating the effectiveness and publication activity of academic staff and the university as a whole. Results. During the study, the authors proved: 1. Scientific Library of Admiral Makarov NUS actively implements innovative forms of activity, develops and diversifies the library service to aid the university research work; 2. The role of the Scientific Library as an active partner at the stages of the life cycle of scientific research of university scientists is growing; 3. Analytical work of the Scientific Library of Admiral Makarov NUS on the publishing activity of the university emphasizes and strengthens the role of the library in the processes of increasing the representation of university scientists in the global space of scientific communications, the introduction of scientometric and bibliometric research methods. Conclusions. Originality of the work lies in the expansion of ideas about the analytical work of the Scientific Library of Admiral Makarov NUS on the publishing activity of the university, which today is an important factor for further objective evaluation of the effectiveness of the academic library. This provides an opportunity to better understand the specifics of the scientific activities of HEI libraries as resource and information centres. Practical value. The obtained results can be used to increase the publishing activity of HEI at the international scientometric platforms.

Research on the Problems and Countermeasures of Laboratory Management in Colleges and Universities

University laboratories are responsible for providing professional venues for practical teaching and scientific research, and the quality of their management can directly affect the quality of research and research work in universities. At present, there are some problems in the laboratory management of colleges and universities in China, such as imperfect laboratory management system, imperfect laboratory personnel allocation and management, incomplete laboratory infrastructure construction, and incomplete laboratory safety management. In view of these problems, this paper puts forward five aspects of university laboratory management countermeasures.

ИНФОРМАЦИОННАЯ СИСТЕМА ПОРТФОЛИО ПРОЦЕССА НАУЧНО-ИССЛЕДОВАТЕЛЬСКОЙ РАБОТЫ СТУДЕНТОВ

Research activity is an important component of the professional training of university students. Research activity includes social interaction of the subjects of this activity: students, scientifi c supervisors, specialists of the academic departments of educational organizations, experts, etc. To ensure interaction, as well as building up of students’ portfolios and a data bank of students’ scientifi c research, the information system «Bank of students’ research work» has been developed. The core of the information system is the description of students’ research work. The main functionality of the system is creating, editing and viewing information about scientifi c work; sorting, fi ltering and searching for work; communication with the authors, scientifi c leaders or the university administration; grade and analysis of students’ research work and creation of reports. The model represents the classes associated with the project database tables, the views implement web pages of the application, the controllers are the classes that implement all the logic of the application. The information system has the following modules: a catalog of students’ research projects, personal accounts of students and academic advisers, evaluation module and the administrative panel of the application. The project involves the accumulation of data on the students’ research activities, which must be analyzed to identify the most popular research areas among young scientists, as well as to determine the success of students’ projects. The calculation of the success of students’ work is based on the analysis of abstracts, articles and achievements (grants, prizes in various competitions) associated with the work, as well as it is based on the expert assessment. The introduction of a the bank of research work will allow: to implement the simplicity and transparency of tracking and assessing the students’ research activities, to organize the interaction of students engaged in research work in universities; to form a students’ portfolios, to accumulate a bank of projects for future students and their work, to analyze and form conclusions about students’ research work.

Análisis de las políticas de financiamiento mixto en educación superior y sus efectos en la movilidad social y en la investigación, el caso de Chile

This article investigates the effects of public financing policies on the expansion of social mobility and coverage, between the years 1990 to 2015, in the Chilean higher education. It is based on the combination of three different methods: the case study; documen research supported by primary and secondary sources, and the compilation and análisis of statistical information. It also analyses the need to revalue investment in the production of knowledge based on in academic research as part of the social role of universities. Finally, it shows that the current system of financing has influenced, directly and positively in the social mobility of the country, especially in the first two income quintiles. It also explains the importance of educational and research work of universities in favour of development and social progress.

Reform of the Library and Information Service in University Libraries under the Network Environment

With the continuous development of Internet technology, the type of information in the literature has also changed. In order to provide better quality problem-solving services for scientific research work in universities, relevant library intelligence personnel are required to set the entire library information. The service is constantly innovating and reforming. This article has carried out a series of analysis on how to carry out the reform of the library information and title service in colleges and universities under the network environment.

The role of computer modeling in training specialists of the food direction

Methods and tools, as well as platforms on which information technologies are implemented in the educational process, are now quite diverse. Their choice is closely related to the solving problems. Information technologies, realized in the form of virtual laboratory works, are indispensable tools for modeling situations in the absence of the possibility of their real reconstruction. Their use in the educational process develops creative thinking, raises the motivation to study the subject and forms the research culture of students. They are ideal for providing research work in universities. The use of virtual works solves not only the financial problems of the educational institution for the acquisition of the instrument base and reagents, but also ensures the safety of experiments with potentially dangerous objects. All the developments are oriented at the individual work of students and contain methodological materials that enable them to be used in a real educational process. Virtual laboratory works are used in most educational institutions in Russia, and their versions in other languages are the leading electronic resources abroad.

Analysis of the Water Droplet Evaporation Features with a Solid Nontransparent Inclusion in High-Temperature Gas Environment as a Part of University Research Work

This paper examines the features of the heating and evaporation of heterogeneous liquid (water) droplets (with the initial radius from 1.5 to 2.5mm) in the combustion products of typical liquid combustible substances (acetone, technical ethanol, butane-propane gas mixture) and heated air explored as a part of university research work. The investigations have been performed by means of high-speed video recording and software “TEMA Automotive” and “Phantom Camera Control”. The gas temperature varied from 300 to 850K in the experiments. The characteristic times of droplet existence (complete evaporation) have been determined. The influence of radiative, convective and conductive heat transfer has been defined.

“Ethics and Ethic Codex in the Teaching Process.”

The author discusses the current situation in research ethics, interpretation of research results and implementation of ethic codes in the teaching of ethnology and cultural anthropology in Slovakia. Research ethics is a hot topic constantly resonating in the teaching process and research work of universities. We feel that ethics in ethnology and in the academic setting has not been paid as much attention as it requires and deserves at present.The issue of ethics has two levels in the field of ethnology – on the one hand, it can be a subject of its research interest and on the other, the principles of ethics should be an inseparable part of all stages of research for an ethnologist – from the selection of research problem through field research, its processing, to final interpretation and publication of the results.The research of the issue of research ethics in Slovakia began at the beginning of the 1980s. After the political and economic changes in 1989 previously marginalized or taboo topics were opened through the optics of ethics. The needs of education at the university departments of ethnology, the work with archive materials, the requirements of various scholars, media or people interested in information about the traditional culture which is available at the academic or pedagogical institutions inevitably lead to a formulation and acceptation of rules at this field. And finally, the declaration of adherence to rules of ethics is a complementary part of projects applying for a support from abroad.

Academic resistance to quality assurance processes in higher education in the UK

The focus of this article is on academic resistance to quality assurance processes that have developed within UK higher education in relation to both research and teaching. These quality processes are often seen as forms of disciplining technologies (Blackmore, 2009) and are arguably an important part of the means by which new public management has been introduced to the sector. They have been perceived to monitor and control academic work in relation to teaching and research within UK universities over the last 20 years or so. However, this article attempts to look at the complexity of academic reactions to these processes and the ways in which academics situated within particular contexts might challenge and resist the discourses and subject positions that are being offered to them Thomas and Davies (2005). Following the work of Graham (2011) and Hyatt (2013) a Foucauldian informed critical discourse analysis is used to examine two critical case studies of resistance to both the quality assurance processes for teaching and the assessment and evaluation of university research work.

ASSESSING UNIVERSITY RESEARCH PERFORMANCE WITH MULTIPLE CONSTITUENCIES

The research performance of the university is critical to the national competitiveness. Previous research has established that research performance is based on scholarly publishing. Several studies suggested that journal ranking is the important research quality indicator. However, unilateral measurement for the research performance will seriously corrode the development of university research work. Assessing university research performance with multiple constituencies is a better to enhance the university research. Although substantial studies have been performed on the critical factors that affect knowledge exploration in the university, those in knowledge exploitation are still lacking. With the multiple constituencies, a fully understanding of research performance can be gained. In the research model, knowledge exploration represents the academic research and knowledge exploitation represents the university–industry collaboration. Data collected from 124 university data in online database. The study shows that knowledge exploration and exploitation both are significant positive predictors of university competitiveness. University resources play important roles to affect both knowledge exploration and exploitation in the university. The study also shows that higher knowledge exploration will enhance knowledge exploitation. Implications for theory and practice and suggestions for future research are discussed. Le parc naturel de la Forêt d'Orient : brève présentation critique

This paper is a summary of university research work on tourism sponsored by the Research Center on yourism at the Pantheon -Sorbonne (University of Paris I) . The thesis contains brief answers to the three main problems raised by the creation of a regional natural park : why, how, for whom ? Some information is thus given on the regional background, the equipments which has been set up, the process adopted and the consequent socio-economic effects.

Progress in electrophotography in Western Europe

A review is given of the progress in electrophotographic science and technology in Western Europe during the years 1967 to early 1971. University research work is mainly directed towards two areas: 1) the electrical and physical properties of photoconductors, such as selenium, chalcogenides, oxides, and organic materials; and 2) the sensitization of these photoconductors. Industrial research teams report on the preparation of electrophotographic layers on development and on image evaluation. A bibliography including scientific papers and patents published on this subject during said period completes this review.
