A Study on Evaluating the Effectiveness of Higher Vocational English Curriculum Reform and Teaching Suggestions Based on Data Analysis

Abstract College English is the public foundation of vocational schools and colleges and an important course to cultivate students’ English oral communication ability. The study reforms the higher vocational English course under EGP+ESP, and on the basis of designing the index system of the reform effect of the English course, the game theory method is utilized to combine the BWM subjective empowerment method and the improved CRITIC method to calculate the comprehensive weights of the indexes. Taking higher vocational institution A as an example, the cloud model theory of data analysis is introduced into the evaluation. Then, the evaluation grade of the reform effect is calculated. The regression analysis model is used to further explore the degree of influence of factors on the reform effect of the higher vocational English course, and to explore the relevant teaching suggestions. The reform effect of the English curriculum in higher vocational college A is between “medium-high effect” and “high effect”, closer to “medium-high effect”, and the index scores are between (78, 94) and (80). The index scores are between (78 and 94). And the effect of reforming higher vocational English course (Z) = 0.155*course objective + 0.253*course content + 0.441*course implementation. College English teaching should be used to improve students’ English application and oral expression abilities and to strengthen students’ competitiveness in employment from the perspective of language communication.

Model Construction and Path Exploration of Integrating Traditional Culture into College English Teaching in the New Media Era

Abstract Based on the current situation of English teaching in colleges and universities, this paper proposes a path for the integration of traditional Chinese culture into English teaching in colleges and universities, which mainly covers teaching content, information technology, and practical activities combined with the principle of deep integration. In order to explore the desirability of the path of integrating traditional culture into English teaching in colleges and universities, a structural equation model oriented to the integration of traditional culture into English teaching is constructed, the latent and explicit variables of the model are defined, and set, and an example analysis of the integration of traditional culture into English teaching in colleges and universities under the perspective of new media is carried out by combining the data of the study. After analysis, it can be obtained that the evaluation indexes of the fit of the structural equation model are 1.728, 0.048, 0.884, 0.896, and 0.697, respectively. Moreover, the experimental group and the control group are significantly different in the aspects of accuracy (P=0.0292<0.05), fluency (P=0.0314<0.05), and logic (P=0.0253<0.05). And there is no significant difference in flexibility (P=0.612<0.05). This study can not only help students to have a more in-depth understanding of traditional Chinese culture but also cultivate their hands-on practice and thinking ability so that English knowledge can be put into practice.

Abstract With the rapid development of society and the rapid change of software technology, the original teaching content and teaching mode of college English can no longer meet the learning needs of college students, so how to improve the quality of personalized teaching in the classroom of college English teachers is of great significance to improve the teaching level and other aspects. The article uses the idea of variable power to obtain personalized features, and through the Apriori algorithm, through data mining, so that students can choose courses suitable for themselves while using hierarchical analysis to evaluate and analyze the personalized teaching of English classroom in a university, in addition, using structural equation model to seek for factors affecting the personalized teaching of college English, and then improve the quality of English teaching. After normalization, we get E 2 = [0.305 0.463 0.166 0.069], which means that the students’ comprehensive judgment of the personalized teaching quality assessment system of English teachers in the university is good. Finally, through the construction of structural equation modeling, the correlation coefficients between “teaching responsibility,” “teaching level,” and “teaching method” are all above 0.9. Their C.R. values are all greater than 1.96, indicating that the students have good judgment on the personalized teaching quality assessment system of the English teachers in the school. Because the C.R. values are all above 1,96, the correlation between the three factors and teaching quality is more significant.

Research and Practice of Blended Teaching Mode of College English with BOPPPS Model in the Context of New Liberal Arts

Abstract How to carry out scientific and reasonable teaching design and then improve the teaching effect is a problem faced by many college English teachers. Aiming at such problems, this paper is based on the six elements of the BOPPPS teaching model to design a blended teaching mode of university English and finally designs a blended teaching mode of university English based on the BOPPPS teaching model. In order to confirm the practicality of the teaching model, research subjects and research materials are identified, and after collecting sample data through questionnaires, the independent sample t-test algorithm is used to analyze the effect of the teaching model designed in this paper. The data show that there is a significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in the five qualities of scientific thinking, with a p-value of less than 0.05, and in terms of English achievement, the corresponding t-test result is a sig (two-sided) of 0.007<0.05, and there is a significant difference between the groups in terms of English achievement on the posttest, with a posttest mean of 92.768 for the control group and 99.774 for the experimental group. Overall, the effectiveness of the teaching model described in this paper is analyzed using the independent sample t-test algorithm. The designed online-offline hybrid teaching mode of college English based on the BOPPPS model has a more significant effect on students’ improvement in all aspects than the traditional English teaching method.

Analysis of the Integration Path of Chinese Traditional Culture in College English Education and Teaching under the Background of Big Data

Abstract The cloud platform teaching system utilizes the optimized load balancing algorithm and DP algorithm to allocate and cluster massive teaching resources respectively, organize massive Chinese cultural knowledge scientifically and rationally into relevant network modules, and present it to English learners in a combination of graphic and text, audio and video. By investigating the selection of resource content and the quality of each functional module on the cloud platform, it can be found that the five primary cultural contents are generally well balanced, with the two that account for the most significant proportion of the content being cultural practices and cultural products, and the proportion of the other three varying little. Most students preferred the functional modules of Learning Center (84.3%), Resource Center, Extracurricular Paradise, and PK Pavilion, but only 12% preferred the Psychological Center module. The correlation coefficient between different factors and the intensity of Chinese culture penetration is the highest, 0.924. The average score of the degree of realization of the five teaching objectives in teaching practice is 3.838, close to “basically realized”. The scores of the four major dimensions of the university students increased significantly (p<0.05). The most significant improvement was seen in the quality of thinking dimension, with a mean increase of 2.678 points.

Exploring the Status Quo and Teaching Mode of College English Education in the Information Age

Abstract With the rapid development of the information age, new technological means are constantly applied to the field of education and produce good results. This paper uses data mining algorithms to extract and analyze data on college English education and explore how to adjust the teaching methodology. On the basis of improving the inherent defects of the DPC algorithm, this paper determines the clustering center through a scoring function, uses the K-neighbor method to form the cluster backbone, and proposes a nearest-neighbor-based label propagation method to propagate the labels to their adjacent nodes to complete data mining. After mining and analyzing the current situation of English education, it was found that the age group over 30 years old accounted for 77.6%, female teachers accounted for 74.6% of the total number of teachers, teachers with the titles of lecturer and assistant professor accounted for 58%, and 33% of the students were not too satisfied or dissatisfied with the content of the English course. It shows that the English teaching team of universities in this province has shortcomings such as gender imbalance, insufficient young and senior teachers, and less than satisfactory content of English courses, which need to be improved in several aspects.

Analysis of the Value of Civic and Political Theory in College English Education Curriculum Based on Fuzzy Aggregate Theory and Optimization of the Approach

Abstract This paper studies and analyzes the theoretical value of the college English education course Civics based on fuzzy set theory and explores the optimization path of its teaching mode. The article uses literature analysis, case studies, and multiple linear regression models. In colleges and universities, Civics and Politics curriculum is instrumental in promoting excellent culture and enhancing students’ comprehensive quality and moral cultivation. Implementing the WITS model makes the teaching process more efficient and encourages students’ active participation and deep thinking. The students ‘English reading level significantly improved after integrating the elements of civics and politics into the teaching process. After analyzing 220 questionnaires, it was found that factors such as course content and communication environment in the teaching process significantly impacted the teaching effect, in which teaching activities and course themes related to Civics and Politics made the most significant contribution to the teaching effect. The research in this paper proposes suggestions for optimizing teaching, such as improving teachers’ civic and political literacy and innovating teaching contents and methods. After studying and analyzing the curriculum, Civic and Political has an essential theoretical and practical value in English education in colleges and universities. Optimizing the teaching mode can improve students’ English proficiency and ideological and political quality.

Research on the Innovation of University English Teaching Mode Driven by Artificial Intelligence

Abstract With the continuous deepening and development of information technology in the field of education, the combination of artificial intelligence technology and university English teaching has become a trend. This paper constructs a human-machine symbiotic English teaching model based on intelligent speech recognition, which takes into account university English learning abilities and learning objectives. Specifically, the multi-scale attention mechanism is used instead of the Conformer model to extract the global information of speech features and the local information of different scales and fuse them to learn more speech representations of different scales so as to better recognize the teacher and student behaviors in the English classroom. Meanwhile, combining the teaching mechanism of human-computer symbiosis, we construct a human-computer symbiosis English teaching model for speech recognition in an intelligent classroom and receive feedback after teaching experiments. The occupancy rate of teacher and student behaviors in the English classroom is 50.86% and 49.14%, respectively, and the conversion rate of teacher and student behaviors is 29.78%, which achieves a high level of teacher-student interaction in this model. In addition, the class utilizing the English teaching model of this paper was 5.02 points higher than the traditional class after one semester of teaching, P=0.038<0.05, and the results showed a significant difference. Through the comparison of cases and teaching experiments, the reasonableness of the English teaching model based on speech recognition is demonstrated, and the research content and problem areas of this paper are summarized.
