Editor’s Welcome Kenneth L. At the invitation of the Board of the National Institute for Newman Studies, I am now honored to start my term as full-time Interim Executive Director of NINS, and Editor-in-Chief of NSJ. When I arrived at the National Institute for Newman Studies in May 2016, this issue of the Newman Studies Journal had already reached final copy stage and was ready for the printer. Only during the weeks that followed did it become clear that this issue exists only because of an effective and collaborative engagement by the entire staff of NINS made it bear fruit. Their self-effacing diligence—to get the work the institute done—only became evident as I grew to know them better, and understood their commitment to the work of NINS. They have been an inspiration as I have taken up my duties as the interim executive director of NINS. My hope is to earn their trust as I learn more of the duties and demands of the executive directorship, and to carry forward this collaborative spirit during my term as editor-in-chief. For this reason I wish to thank Giulia Marotta, Research Coordinator, Mia McIntyre, Office Manager, Mary Jo Dorsey, Knowledge Manager, Carole DiClaudio, Communications Coordinator, and Donna Lewis, Office Assistant, for their hard work on this issue and their devotion to the mission of the National Institute for Newman Studies. Lisa Goetz, the NSJ original managing editor, also volunteered hours of her time to make this issue possible. Her efforts are deeply appreciated. In this wonderful synergy of collaboration and cooperation, they effectively assumed and accomplished the work of editor-in-chief of this issue. Please enjoy what they achieved. Kenneth L.
