Analysis of Language Style in Suara Bone Beradat FM Radio Broadcasts: A Descriptive Qualitative Approach

This research aims to analyze and document various types of language styles used in Suara Bone Beradat FM radio broadcasts. The research method used is descriptive qualitative analysis of radio broadcast data transcription. The results of the research show that there are various types of language styles, including comparison, repetition, allusion, contradiction and emphasis. Comparative language styles include metaphor, allusion, synecdoche, and pars pro toto. Repetitive language styles include anadiplosis, mesodplosis, epizeuxis, alliteration, and epanolepsis. The language styles of satire and contradiction each consist of one data, namely innuendo and hysteron prosteron. The language style of affirmation includes parallelism and repetition. The results of this research provide a new contribution to the understanding of the use of language styles in Suara Bone Beradat FM radio broadcasts.

An Analysis of Language Styles Used by Tour Guides in Huta Siallagan: A Study of International Tourist Satisfaction

This research delves into an examination of the language styles employed by tour guides in Huta Siallagan when interacting with international tourists. The primary objectives of this study were twofold: first, to categorize and identify the various types of language styles used by tour guides during their interactions with tourists, and second, to assess the overall satisfaction of international tourists with the services provided by these tour guides. To achieve these objectives, a descriptive qualitative method was employed. The research methodology followed the framework outlined by Miles and Huberman, encompassing data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions from the collected information. The data collection process involved the transcription of voice recordings of tour guides and foreign tourists, which were then transformed into written scripts. Subsequently, these scripts were closely examined to identify specific linguistic elements, allowing for a detailed analysis of the language styles present in the tour guide-tourist interactions. For the analytical framework, Martin Joos' theory was utilized, providing a structured framework for understanding and categorizing the language styles used by tour guides. In total, the study analysed 77 utterances from the collected data. The findings of this research reveal that the most prevalent language style utilized by tour guides in Huta Siallagan when interacting with international tourists is the casual style. This outcome sheds light on the communicative preferences and practices of tour guides in this cultural and touristic context. These insights can be invaluable for tour operators, policymakers, and other stakeholders in the tourism industry, aiming to enhance the experiences of international tourists visiting Huta Siallagan.

Gaya Bahasa Pada Novel “Bara Dalam Jelaga” Karya Napermana

This study examines the language style in the novel “Bara in Jelaga” by Napermana based on Tarigan theory which divides four types of language styles, namely comparative language style, conflict language style, connection language style, and repetition language style. This study uses qualitative descriptive research method. The data source for this study is the novel “Bara in Jelaga” by Napermana. Data collection techniques use reading and note techniques. According to the results and discussion, a language style with a total of 42 quotations was found which shows language style, consisting of: 1) comparative language style, 22 quotations, including 10 parable language styles, 3 quotations in periphrasis language style, 8 personification language styles. Quotations, and pleonasm language style contains 1 quotation. 2) the conflicting language style consists of 8 quotations, including the climax language style containing 2 quotations, the hyperbole language style containing 5 quotations, and the sarcasm language style containing 1 quotation. 3) the linking language style consists of 3 quotations, including the erotic language style containing 1 quotation, the eponymous language style containing 1 quotation, and the ellipsis language style containing 1 quotation. 4) the repetition language style consists of 9 quotations, including the episcopal language style containing 3 quotations, the anaphoric language style containing 5 quotations, and the epistrophic language style containing 1 quotation.The conclusion of this research is that the novel “Bara in Jelaga” predominantly uses a comparative language style.

PENGGUNAAN GAYA BAHASA DALAM PUISI KARYA SISWA KELAS VIII SMP NEGERI 27 MALANG

Poetry is one of the standards for junior high school (SMP) students' literary abilities. In poetry, there is definitely a language style that functions to beautify the language in poetry. Likewise with poems written by class VIII A students at SMPN 27 Malang. Based on this, the aim of this research is to reveal the use of language styles in students' poetry, so that the types and forms of use of language styles are known and students' abilities in applying diction in poetry. The research used is qualitative. The data sources contained in this research are 34 poems written by students. From the results of the analysis, it was found that sixteen (16) types of language styles were obtained, with a total of 79. The language styles found include: the first is rhetorical reticence with the highest number of occurrences of around 22 data, then followed by the metaphor, hyperbole and personification language styles with 9 data, followed by the anaphora language style with 6 data. There are other language styles such as rhetorical questions and associations with 4 data each, followed by synecdoche pars pro toto and repetition with 3 data. Next there are the language styles of allegory, tautology, synecdoche totem pro parte which both amount to 2 data, then there are also the language styles of epic parable, simile, pleonasm, and alliteration which each have 1 data. The forms of language style units obtained from students' poetry are in the form of word units, sound units and sentence units. Finally, students' ability to apply denotative and connotative meaningful diction in poetry.

Language Style Used by Peter Parker in the Spiderman Movie

This undergraduate thesis is entitled Language Style Used by Peter Parker in the “Spider-Man” Movie. This study focused on the language style particularly to identify and analyze the type language style and function of language in Peter Parker’s utterances. The object of this study is Peter Parker’s utterances in the “Spider-Man” movie. This study used observation and documentation methods with taking note technique in collecting data. The data was analyzed using descriptive qualitative methods, means the results are explaining descriptively. The results of the analysis are presented in informal method. This study used two theories; the theory of type of language style proposed by Joos and the theory of function of language proposed by Jakobson. Based on the theory, the type of language style in this study shows three types of language style. There are formal style, consultative style, and casual style. In this study, there are types of language style which is not found, namely frozen style and intimate style. These types of language style do not exist because in the movie, the situations and Peter Parker’s utterances does not contain frozen style and intimate style. Meanwhile, the function of language in this study shows four functions of language. There are phatic function, conative function, referential function, and expressive function. There are two functions of language that are not in the movie, namely poetic function and metalingual function because it does not match the contents of the story and Peter Parker’s utterances. The result shows that Peter Parker used more casual style to communicate with other characters and expressive functions, which aimed to express Peter Parker’s emotions and feelings. Analysis of Language Style Uttered by the Characters in Premature Movie

Spoken language will always involve language style. This depends on the situation in which the conversation is taking place, and also the participants. This study was conducted to see the language style of the conversations in Premature movie. The data were analyzed by using qualitative method. The data analyzed based on the theory of language style proposed by Joos (1967), and it combined with the theory of function of language proposed by Holmes (1992). The data were taken from the conversation that uttered by the characters in Premature movie. Based on the analysis there are 19 data that found in the data source, there are four types of language style and six types of language function were found. The four language styles are four types of language style which are, formal style, consultative style, casual style, and intimate style. Casual style is the most dominant type in this movie. The six function of language that found by the researcher which are expressive function, directive function, referential function, metalinguistic function, poetic function, and phatic function. The most function of language occurred in the data analysis is directive function.

An Analysis of Language Style in Little Buddha Movie

This study focused on the use of language style in the movie "Little Buddha" which shows how language style is used in society. There are two problems to be solved in the study, the types of language styles used on a conversation in the "Little Buddha" movie, and the factor influencing the choice of language style in the "Little Buddha" movie. This study's theoretical framework is based on Joos (1967) states there are five types of language style, namely frozen style, formal style, consultative style, casual style, intimate style, and Holmes (1992) There are four factors in choosing language variation that is participant, setting, topic, and function. The results of this study that there are 25 data of the type of language styles and elaborate factors influencing the choice of language style which is occurred in "Little Buddha" movie and intimate style becomes the most dominant type.

Charlotte’s Language Style in Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story Series (2023)

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is one of the popular Netflix series in 2023. This series is famous for being the aftermath of the two Bridgerton series that were released previously. The story, which is set in the British Empire at the end of the 18th century, attracts the attention of audiences. It is prominent to apply into the theory used because the various social factors and dimensions in the series can provide the samples of the five types of language styles according to Joos (1967), from frozen styles to intimate styles. The data used in this study are Charlotte’s utterances to the three main supporting characters. Data collection uses the observation method by analyzing the dialogues in the series. There are 373 data found with the style that appears most often is the casual style. This type of language style is usually used in informal situations, with intimate relationships between participants.

Solidarity-Based Content Sharing on Social Media: A Closer Look at the Language Style among Millennial Social Platform Users

Social Media platforms have shaped diverse linguistic issues through informal language use, language adaptation and change, linguistic creativity and global communication. The current study reveals the issues about investigating about language style and linguistic form of solidarity expression used by the millennial community on social media platforms. Thirty respondents who aged about 23-43 years old considered as millennial participated in this study and inquired through open-ended questionnaire. The data was probed by using grounded theory proposed by Creswell. The findings exposed that language style were realized for certain communication purposes and based-social context oriented, solidarity expression was shown through a different linguistic form to reveal ideas, feeling, empathy, caring, respect, moral justice and kinds of arguments. after deeply investigated, there were four types of language styles that are dominantly used by millennial on this social media platform, namely formal language style, informal language style, slang language style and colloquial language style, unfortunately, many people abuse social media as a platform for venting their anger and their disappointment by using disrespectful language and behaviors are frequently observed online. Consequently, this scholarly paper also provides advice on the user of social media platform must possess a range of skills including linguistic knowledge, sociocultural knowledge, and the ability to use language in appropriate ways depending on the specific communicative context.

Language Style Used in the Business Articles of Suitmedia’s Website

The objective of the study was to identify the different types of language style that were used in two business articles. The writer analyzed the language style used in the strategy and creative article published on the Suitmedia website in October 2022. The study used Keraf's (2010) theory of language style based on diction, which utilizes three indicators: vocabulary, sentence length, and sentence structure. Moeliono et al.'s (2017) theory of inversion and Chaer's (2014) theory of syntax were also used as supporting theories. This study was conducted using a descriptive qualitative approach. The data analysis showed that the strategy article used the formal language style, and the creative article used the informal language style. The research findings indicated three differences in language style between strategy and creative articles, which are vocabulary, sentence structure, and sentence length.

LANGUAGE STYLE USED IN OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN

Abstract
 Language style is used by humans to convey meaning in different depending on their situation of speaking. People even mix their language styles based on context. It makes every human unique since it creates different language style because of their personality and situation in communication. The researcherss found it interesting to analyze the language style used in literary work. Therefore, this research discussed about the types of language style used in movie script, especially Olympus Has Fallen. Qualitative method is applied to conduct this study. The researcherss collected the data by u s i n g non-participant observation and audio-visuals material. The researcherssgot the data by analyzing the script. After that, the researcherss marked theutterances used by the actors and actresses. The researcherss used theory of Keraf (2009) to classify the types of language style. They are formal style, informal style and conversational style. After doing this research, the researcherss found all the types of language styles that mentioned by Keraf (2009). The researcherss found 102 data that were categorized into types of language style that used in movie script of Olympus Has Fallen. The results were classified into 12 data of formal style with 12 data, informal style with 25 data, and conversational with 65 data. The findings were dominated by conversational language style because the conversation is indeed used in daily context by using jargon, idioms, abbreviation, and slang. Overall, the researchers hope this research can add insight in the field of linguistics.

Language Style Used by The Main Character in Hotel Transylvania 2 Movie

This article aimed at finding out the types of language styles and how it is used by the main character. The object of this article is the main character’s utterances when he speaks with his daughter and his male friends in Hotel Transylvania 2 Movie. The data were collected by the method of documentation and note-taking. The descriptive qualitative and quantitative techniques were applied in accordance with the problems of this article. The theory applied in this article is the theory of language styles introduced by Joos (1967). Based on the article finding, the main character, Dracula, used three types of language styles when talking with his daughter, Mavis, and his male friends, Frankenstein, Wayne, Griffin, and Murray. An intimate style is dominantly used by Dracula when he speaks with Mavis; on the other hand, the casual style is mainly used when he speaks to his male friends. The application of language style by Dracula shows that the relationship affects an individual’s choice of language style. Moreover, a consultative style can be used among insiders to deliver information. In addition, the findings prove that interjection can be the characteristic of the casual or intimate style.

An Analysis Of Language Style By The Characters In “Wonder” A Novel By R.J. Palacio

Language style is defined as the choice of words used by a specific group of people when speak in a place and in one condition. It is very important for people to express their ideas, people use style depend on with whom they speak and where they speaking too. This research is aimed to analyze language style used by the characters in “Wonder” a novel by R.J. Palacio. The analysis was based on the five language styles proposed in Martin Joos’s theory. The research was conducted through a qualitative descriptive method. Qualitative descriptive method was used in analyzing the data because it will be explained with words, phrases, and sentences. The researcher used qualitative method in which the data was collected by reading the novel then finding out the utterances that contains language style. The data in this research were taken from the utterances of the novel. The researcher only focuses on conversation containing those five types of language style. Later on, the researcher classified them based on the types of language style that were found on the movie. The finding of this researcher is the researcher found there are five types of language style that is used by the main character, the five type of language style are Frozen Style (Oratorical Style), Formal Style (Deliberative Style), Consultative Style, Casual Style and Intimate Style.

《长津湖》电影中的修辞手法分析GAYA BAHASA DALAM FILM “THE BATTLE AT CHANGJIN LAKE” YANG DISUTRADARAI CHENG CHENG KAI GE, TSUI HARK DAN DANTE LAM

This study aims to find out the types of language styles and the factors in language style usage used in the film The battle at Changjin Lake directed by Cheng kai ge, Tsui Hark and Dante lam. Language style is a way of expressing thoughts through language in a unique way by choosing appropriate words and combining them in certain sentence structures, in order to create new and fresh ways of conveying. The design of this study is descriptive qualitative with documentation data collection techniques. The results of the data analysis show that there are 6 types of language styles, namely 3 styles of Jièdài (Metonymic), 7 styles of Fǎnwèn (Erotesis), 2 styles of Duì'ǒu (Antithesis), 1 style of Páibǐ (Parallelism), 4 styles of Fǎnfù ( Repetition), 3 styles of Shè wèn (Rhetorical) . The style of language most often used is Fǎnwèn (Erotesis). The results of the data analysis also show that the factors causing the usage of these language styles in the film are a person's identity, work, external environment, mood, time and location. The Difference Between Male and Female Language Style of Students Grade VIII

This research is about sociolinguistics specified on the difference between male and female language style of students grade VIII in SMP Negeri 1 Pematangsiantar. This research focuses on the problems about: (1) Whatlanguage style are used by male students of grade VIII in SMP Negeri 1 Pematangsiantar (2) What language style are used by female students of grade VIII in SMP Negeri 1 Pematangsiantar (3) What are the differences between male and female students language style at grade VIII in SMP Negeri 1 Pematangsiantar. To answer the problems of this research, the writer uses related theory such as, Chaika (1982), Broderick (1976), Keraf (1984), Leech (2006), Maleong (2007). This research applies descriptive qualitative research, aimed at describing language style of eight grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Pematangsiantar. The subject of this research are 30 students, consists of 14 male students and 16 female students. The data was collected by observation and recording. The method covers research design, the subject, the object, the instrument, the technique of collecting data and the technique of analyzing data. The result of this research shows that (1) The writer found two language styles used by male students. (2) The writer found three language styles used by female students. (3) The difference language style between male and female students stated that intimate style used by female students but male students didn’t use intimate language style. Finally, from the result of the data analysis, the writer found that every student has different language style. Male and female students of SMP Negeri 1 Pematangsiantar used three types of language style from five language style. Formal and casual style used by male students while, formal, casual and intimate style used by female students.

The Language of The Novel Rantau 1 Muara by Ahmad Fuadi Studies Stylistics and its Relevance as Teaching Material in High School

This article analyses the language style contained in Ahmad Fuadi's Novel Rantau 1 Muara and the relevance of language style to high school learning. In the novel, there are four types of language styles, namely comparative language styles consisting of metaphors, personifications, pleonasm, antitheses, and parables. . The style of the Looping language consists of assonance and metaphor. Linking language style consisting of synecdoche, illusion, euphemisms, and asyndeton. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that Ahmad Fuadi's novel Rantau 1 Muara uses a comparative language style, affirmation, and some benefits and lessons can be taken by readers and have language style implications in the world of education, especially as teaching material and language learning in high schools. The research method used to examine the major used in Ahmad Fuadi's novel Rantau Muara is a qualitative descriptive method. The object of this study is the constructive structure and style of language used in Ahmad Fuadi's novel Rantau Muara. This study's data collection techniques used library, listening, and note-taking techniques. The validity of the data in this study uses theoretical triangulation techniques. The data analysis technique in this study uses the semiotic model reading method. Meanwhile, the analysis of stylistic studies in this study was carried out by reading. Gaya Bahasa Rocky Gerung pada Masa Kampanye Pemilu Presiden 2019 dalam Acara Indonesia Lawyers Club

This research was conducted to find out the language style used by Rocky Gerung during the 2019 presidential elestion campaign at the Indonesia Lawyers Club event. This type of research is qualitative with descriptive analysis method. Data collection techniques are carried out by observing and recording techniques. The data source was obtained from the video of the Indonesia Lawyers Club event. After the data is obtained, the data is analyzed based on the type of language style. The style of language that tends to be dominant in this study is the style of affirmation which consists of interruptions, corrections, repetitions, rhetoric, stigmatism, and tautology. As a political observer, Rocky Gerung is known for his assertive speaking style, daring to criticize and often using satirical language in his speeches. In this research, the style of language Rocky used the most was interrupt with the aim of emphasizing the meaning of what he said.

Nilai Kehidupan dan Gaya Bahasa Pada Puisi “Dengan Puisi Aku” Karya Taufiq Ismail

The poem "With My Poetry" is one of the literary works by Taufiq Ismail that describes the author's feelings in writing the poem, this poem is included in one of the literary works that have aesthetic value in the world of art. The purpose of this study was to determine the value of life and the type of language style used in Taufik Ismail's poem "With Puisiku". The research method used in this article is a qualitative descriptive research method. From the results of this study, the value of life contained in this poem is a reflection of life about how the next life will go well, and the style of language in the poem "With Puisi Aku" by Taufiq Ismail, namely: Alliteration, Assonance, Simile, Personification, Sarcasm, and Anophora.

ANALISIS GAYA BAHASA PERBANDINGAN DALAM NOVEL CINTA BEDA AGAMA DAN BUDAYA KARYA ROSYIDAH KHOLIL

Abstract: This study aims to describe and analyze the types of comparative language style analysis in the novel love of different religions and cultures by Rosyidah Kholil. This study uses a qualitative approach. The object of this research is in the form of words, phrases, sentences or paragraphs in the love novels of different religions and cultures. The data analysis procedure is carried out by classifying the data based on the type of language style, examining the data one by one and matching it with the theory, then describing the data that has been studied. This study finds comparative language styles (parables, metaphors, personifications, allegory, antithesis, pleonasm and tautology, perifascist, anticipation). The style of language is a means for the writer to give a certain emphasis to the issues that the writer wants to convey, strengthen the reader's impression of an event or character in the story, bring the story to life, and beautify the story.

The Comparative Language Style at SOT and SOT’s Subtitle on Soft News DAAI Mandarin and Metro Xinwen

Nowadays, language style has entered a wider scope, included electronic journalism and also television news broadcast. This paper described and used language style according to Huang and friends (2012). This paper will discussed about the comparison of language style at soundbite on tape (SOT) and SOT’s subtitle on both soft news videos, is: DAAI Mandarin and Metro Xinwen. This paper’s goals is to find out the type of language style that contained in SOT and SOT’s subtitle on soft news DAAI Mandarin and Metro Xinwen. Data source using soft news video of television news broadcast. Research method used descriptive qualitative with observed data collection methods and note taking techniques for the data collection. The result of data analysis used three steps, is: data condensation, data presenting, and drawing conclusions. The results of data analysis are presented in the form of narrative explanation.
