Models and Implementation of Curriculum Development in Schools

Curriculum development cannot be separated from various aspects that influence it. Various curriculum models have been developed by curriculum, education and psychology experts. This research aims to find a model for curriculum development in schools and its implementation. In this article, the author uses library research or what could be called qualitative research which obtains data from appropriate journals, articles and books. The research results found that in developing the curriculum, teachers can choose several models including the Tyler Model, Administrative Model, Grass Roots Approach Model, Demonstration Model, Beauchamp's System Model or Beauchamp Model, Roger's Model, Problem Solving Model and Taba's Inverted Model. The procedures for curriculum development include curriculum planning, curriculum organization, staffing and curriculum control. Meanwhile, curriculum implementation is the process of applying ideas, concepts, policies, in the form of practical actions, so that it has an impact, both in the form of changes in knowledge, skills, as well as students' values and attitudes. The success of curriculum implementation is also determined by communication about the implementation plan and the support of all resources in the implementation

Evaluation of Industrial Field Practice Program using the Tyler Model in the Informatics Engineering Education Department

This research aims to describe the evaluation implementation of industrial field practices in the informatics engineering education study program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Putra Indonesia "YPTK" Padang. This research used an evaluation method with the Tyler Evaluation Model (Goal Oriented Model). Based on this method, data was collected through the following steps: 1). Identify the objectives of industrial field practice; 2) formulate indicators for the achievement goals that have been set; 3) formulate the data obtained with indicators. The main objective is divided into sub-component objectives, namely: sub-component of program objectives, sub-component of attitudes, and sub-component of achieving program objectives. All indicators included in the sub-components were analyzed using the mixed method technique (quantitative and qualitative) and obtained an average score of 84.4 %. It means that the implementation of industrial field practice in the informatics engineering education study program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Putra Indonesia "YPTK" Padang, is in a good category. The impact of the implementation of industrial field practices can run smoothly in accordance with the program objectives.

Design and Validation of Clinical Education Curriculum Pattern Based on Social Accountability for General Medicine Course: A Mixed Method Study

Introduction: In the social accountability of the curriculum, all medical education activities are aimed at training doctors who are able to meet the health needs of society. In Iran's medical education system, there is a weakness in responding to the needs of society, and the connection between students and society has gradually weakened. The purpose of this study was to design and validate a clinical education curriculum model based on social accountability for general medicine students. Methods: A sequential exploratory mixed-method approach was used to conduct this study at Tabriz University of Medical Sciences, combining qualitative and quantitative methods. The model was designed using the inductive content analysis method in the qualitative stage and validated through the descriptive-survey method in the quantitative stage. In order to collect data in the qualitative part, the method of studying previous documents, scientific texts and semi-structured interviews with experts and specialists was used, and in the quantitative part, a questionnaire prepared by the researcher was used. The model was developed using the views of 14 professors and 5 general practitioners, selected through purposive and sequential sampling until information saturation was reached. The model was validated by obtaining opinions from 15 experts using a purposeful and criteria-based method. The content validity ratio (CVR) was estimated using the Lawshe's formula. Results: In the qualitative phase, this study identified the characteristics of an ideal clinical education curriculum for a general medicine course based on a social responsibility approach. The characteristics identified were based on the four elements of Tyler's model. Based on the findings of this part of the research, the extracted codes in 114 subcategories and 13 main categories include goals: knowledge, attitude, and skills; Content: clinical sciences and skills, health sciences, behavioral sciences, social and professional ethics, communication and leadership skills, and content organization; Teaching-learning methods: educational strategies, and teaching-learning methods; Assessment methods: performance assessment in vivo, performance assessment in vitro, and essay assignments. In the quantitative phase, the designed model's components and elements underwent validation through expert agreement and received approval with a content validity ratio of CVR=0.81. Conclusion: In the proposed pattern, the clinical competencies required by general practitioners were the main focus of designing, explaining and describing curriculum elements. Also, this model is designed in such a way that it can meet the needs of society and medical students. It is suggested that medical school officials and curriculum planners use the proposed model in designing the curriculum of general medicine courses to enable medical students to respond to the needs of society.

Anatomy education during COVID-19 era: Evaluation of an anatomy blended course for medical students.

The COVID-19 pandemic has prompted a need to change traditional teaching methods. This study was conducted to evaluate the educational quality of a blended anatomy course and measure student satisfaction and knowledge after completing the course. Tyler's model was used to develop a new blended curriculum. The study guide for this curriculum was also developed using Association for Medical Education in Europe guide no. 16. A quasi-experimental study compared educational quality, students' satisfaction, and students' satisfaction using Students' Evaluations of Educational Quality (SEEQ), Borim Nejad's satisfaction survey, and multiple choice questions, respectively. Independent t-tests and Chi-square were used to compare the groups. A total of 122 students participated in this study, 62 and 60 in the intervention and control groups, respectively. The satisfaction score was significantly higher in the intervention group than in the control group (40.6 versus 38.6, P value = 0.03). The score of SEEQ was not significantly different (91.9 versus 91.08, P value = 0.52), but the subscales of learning (17.23 versus 16.32, P = 0.01), group interaction (16.87 versus 18.1, P = 0.01), and breadth (17.73 versus 16.65, P = 0.02) were significant. The knowledge score was also significantly higher in the intervention group than in the control group (18.13 versus 16.68, P value < 0.001). Using blended learning approaches for anatomy courses can increase students' satisfaction, improve the learning and breadth of educational quality subscales, but worsen group interaction. Although this study shows improvement in medical students' knowledge, further studies are needed because of the limitations of this study.

가상현실 기반 예비교사 에듀테크 프로그램 개발 및 적용

The paper aims to understand developing and applying a program for digital competence and awareness change of pre-service teachers and to analyze experience following the need to build an EduTech environment and foster digital literacy suggested in the 2022 revised national curriculum. The Tyler model, providing a rational process, was used to develop systematic programs. The evaluation was designed to check the changes in pre-service teachers' perceptions of EduTech, and a survey was planned to analyze the educational experience. A 6-times blended learning program was developed, and a virtual space and learning tools were produced. After applying the program, the results of the paired sample t-test showed a significant mean increase in the change of pre-service teachers' perceptions. It is hoped that study will effectively cultivate the EduTech capabilities of pre-service teachers and change their perceptions to respond to social changes.

Model and Approach in Evaluation of English Language Learning

This study aims to describe theoretically the learning evaluation model and approach. The method used in this study is the literature review method. This method emphasizes textbooks as sources and studies. The results of this study found that the learning evaluation model is divided into two namely: a quantitative evaluation model and a qualitative evaluation model. Quantitative evaluation models include the black box Tyler model, theoretical model, CIPP model, and Alkin model. In contrast, the qualitative evaluation model includes a case study model, an illuminative model, and a responsive model. Learning evaluation approaches include traditional approaches and systems approaches. By applying this evaluation model and approach to learning, the learning evaluation process in the classroom will be systematic and the resulting output will be in line with the expectations of the education system

Improving reading skills by using Tyler model with the help of Quizizz

Based on the results of the documentary research, the average score of the fifth-graders at Madrasah Diniyah Al-Fadlilah on Arabic subject is still low (below the Minimum Criteria of Mastery Learning). The purpose of this research is to determine the impact of the implementation of MTBMQ (Tyler-Model-Based Quizziz Learning Media) or Tyler model along with Quizizz on students' reading skills in Arabic subject, as well as to find the issues and solutions in the implementation of MTBMQ. This research utilizes a one group pre-test post-test design. The data are collected through multiple choice tests, along with semi-open Likert Scale questionnaires. Due to the fact that the research data are normally distributed, the researchers decide to use parametric statistical tests. The results show that this implementation has a significant effect on the students' reading skills in Arabic subject. Furthermore, the test results of the paired sample t-test show a sig (2-tailed) value of 0.000 less than 0.025. It means that after implementing MTBMQ, students' score has increased. The result of the N-Gain test, namely 0.65, also shows that MTBMQ is efficient to be implemented to improve students’ reading skills, especially when the material is in the moderate category. The results of the Likert Scale questionnaire show that the main hindrances in implementing the MTBMQ are that students experience problems when logging into the Quizizz web and submitting answers, having difficulty finding the meaning of a word in the dictionary, and a lack of interest in learning to read.Meningkatkan keterampilan membaca dengan model Tyler berbantuan media QuizizzBerdasarkan hasil studi dokumen, rerata hasil belajar siswa kelas V Madrasah Diniyah Al-Fadlilah pada mata pelajaran bahasa Arab masih di bawah KKM. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes pilihan ganda sebanyak sepuluh butir soal dan angket Skala Likert semi terbuka. Karena data pada penelitian ini berdistribusi normal, peneliti menggunakan uji statistik parametrik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan ini memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada keterampilan membaca bahasa Arab. Hasil uji paired sample t-test memliki nilai sig (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 kurang dari 0,025 yang berarti hasil belajar siswa sesudah diberi perlakuan dengan penerapan MTBMQ mengalami peningkatan. Selain itu, hasil uji N-Gain sebesar 0,65 menunjukkan bahwa penerapan MTBMQ cukup efektif dalam pembelajaran membaca dengan kategori sedang. Hasil angket Skala Likert menunjukkan bahwa kendala utama dalam penerapan MTBMQ ini ialah siswa mengalami kendala ketika log in ke dalam web Quizizz serta submit jawaban, mengalami kesulitan mencari makna sebuah kata dalam kamus, dan kurangnya minat belajar membaca.

Development of an Educational Program for Patients with Multiple Sclerosis in Iran

Background and Aims This study aims to develop an educational program for patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) in Iran which is applicable by physiotherapists. Methods This is a survey study. Participants were 85 physiotherapists with at least one year of experience working with MS patients in Iran who were randomly selected. The tool was a researcher-made questionnaire with 61 items and four subscales based on the Tyler model, whose content validity was confirmed by 10 experts. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (frequency and percentage) and inferential statistics (Friedman test) in SPSS software, version 22. Results Preventing the patient from getting stuck”, “improving the life quality and life expectancy and preventing depression”, “maximum individual independence in activities of daily living”, “educating the patients and their families how to control mental problems”, “emphasis on drug therapy and physiotherapy”, “preventing deterioration”, “educating how to control musculoskeletal injuries, improve musculoskeletal function, and prevent contracture”, “maintaining the patient’s morale, especially during the relapse period”, “muscle strength and endurance training, and coordination of the muscles and body balance”, and “returning to normal life” were the most important components related to objectives of the educational program for MS patients. “Educating appropriate exercises”, “educating the family members how to lower the patients’ stress”, “having light-intensity exercise”, and “using the successful experiences of other patients with MS and asking them to present it” were the most important components related to the content of the educational program. “In-person training”, “group training”, “treatment in a private center”, “group training in the MS Association”,” watching a movie where one of the characters has MS and showing his/her success to give hope” and “counseling with the family” were the most important components related to the method of education. Finally, “qualitative evaluation and reporting of patient function”, “quantitative assessment of paraments such as range of motion/muscle strength, balance with eyes closed/open, and single-leg stance”, “functionality of the patient”, and “using standard tests” were the most important components related to the program evaluation. Conclusion The developed educational program can be used directly by physiotherapists or by all people who are in contact with patients with MS in Iran.

Investigating the Evaluation of the Internal Quality of the Curriculum of Islamic Education Courses from the Point of view of the Students of Birjand University of Medical Sciences based on Ralph Tyler's Model

Introduction: Paying attention to the all-round development of students and teaching values and moral issues is always considered one of the important goals of educational systems in universities. Thus this study aimed to evaluate the internal quality of the Islamic studies courses curriculum based on Ralph Tyler's model and from the students' point of view at Birjand University of Medical Sciences.&#x0D; Methods: This is a descriptive-analytical study. The studied population of Birjand University of Medical Sciences students, based on the table of Karjesi and Morgan, 300 people were selected as a sample using available sampling method. A researcher-made questionnaire including 48 questions was used to collect information. The validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by medical education experts and the reliability of the questionnaire using Cronbach's alpha method was 87%. Data analysis was done using SPSS 16 software and descriptive statistics (frequency and percentage) and inferential statistics (one-sample t and independent t) were used.&#x0D; Results: The status of internal quality of the curriculum of Islamic education courses in the goal element from the students' point of view was medium to high, but the average (content, teaching and evaluation methods) was lower than the theoretical average (3) and the status of these elements was of low quality (P&lt;0.05).&#x0D; Conclusion: The curriculum of education courses in universities should always be evaluated and the necessary revision should be done in order to promote the spiritual, moral and all-round development of students.

Developing The Spiritual Health Curriculum Approach Based on Tyler's Model in Iran.

Background: Spiritual health education is known as an important element in its implementation in the health system, which has different approaches to its implementation. Spiritual health has a positive effect on health, longevity, and recovery from physical ailments. Without spirituality education, education cannot function properly in biological, psychological, spiritual, and social dimensions or reach its maximum capacity. The present study aimed to develop the spiritual health curriculum approach based on Tyler's model in Iran between 2020 and 2021. Methods: In this qualitative study, by using a directed content analysis method and using validated curriculum models (Tyler's model), we developed a new spiritual health curriculum approach for Iranian society. This study was done between April 2021 and February 2022. Results: Because the spiritual health curriculum in Iran should be based on the philosophical and social principles of Iran, a new approach to spiritual health education based on Tyler's model was developed. Conclusion: Tyler's Iranian-Islamic model, which is suitable for our Iranian-Islamic culture and is valid for developing spirituality, was introduced.

A lesson learned from the integration of BIM in construction engineering education in an Indonesian Polytechnic

The Indonesian construction industry has increasingly adopted Building Information Modeling (BIM). One of the barriers to adopting BIM is BIM skills among graduates are still rare. Therefore, higher education institutions have to adopt BIM into their curriculum. However, as BIM is a new concept in construction engineering, many higher education institutions have a problem integrating BIM. Therefore, the paper proffers a syllabus to integrate BIM in a vocational higher education institution. The research methodology follows the Tyler model of curriculum development. It started with a review of prominent BIM integration into higher education research. Then, discussion with BIM practitioners from the industry to acquire information on current BIM-related job specifications in Indonesia. The team teacher then discussed and analyzed the results to create an initial syllabus. Further, the students' performance and feedback are observed during two years of course offering from 2019 to 2021. Improvement of the syllabus is based on observation and feedback results. The progress has increased students' performance in the BIM course. The students' performance is excellent even though the course was offered online due to a pandemic.

Pengembangan Kurikulum Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan dalam Kampus Merdeka Berdasar Optimalisasi Kompetensi Kewarganegaraan serta Pelayanan Berkualitas terhadap Mahasiswa

This research was conducted to provide argumentative information that Citizenship Education is able to collaborate with the independent campus policy, so that it has a positive impact on efforts to manage the nation's demographic bonus, through the development of the Citizenship Education Law on an independent campus, which leads to scientific efforts to optimize citizenship competencies and provide quality services for students. , in order to be a strategic step in realizing Indonesian civil society. This research was carried out through a qualitative approach with a literature study method, of course the data analysis in this study focused on: data reduction, data display and drawing conclusions. The results of the study are: 1) Citizenship Education curriculum development in an independent campus is a scientific effort in optimizing student citizenship competencies, namely: civic knowledge, civic skills and civic disposition, as social capital to realize civilized citizens (civic virtue), in the context of quality services. for students, of course based on the Among Ki Hajar Dewantara system, because it focuses on practical education that guides and serves, so that students develop optimally, 2) Citizenship Education curriculum development in an independent campus uses the Tyler model, because it focuses on curriculum orientation, so that the implementation and evaluation of the curriculum can be returned to each institution. Because the substance of the Citizenship Education curriculum development in an independent campus does not limit the innovation and learning characteristics of Citizenship Education at each institution, but becomes a national indicator, so that there is harmonization of the management of the demographic bonus.

Digital Media as COVID-19 Disaster Information Literacy

Information about COVID-19 in digital media circulating must be confirmed because there are many fake news (hoaxes). The purpose of this study was to evaluate the digital literacy curriculum of Tular Nalar Internet and Disaster Preparedness in order to reduce hoaxes among PKK RW 69 women in Perum MGA Yogyakarta. This study uses an evaluation method oriented to the program's objectives that apply Tyler's model. Evaluation is carried out in the following steps: 1) Establishing program objectives; 2) Classifying objectives; 3) Identify structured objectives; 4) Data collection through: observation, interviews. Data analysis was carried out by assessing the conditions that occurred before, during and after the implementation of the digital literacy curriculum and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that the Tular Nalar digital literacy curriculum in the PKK RW 69 Mitra Griya Asrita community provides awareness in critical thinking. PKK women become “Tahu (know), Tanggap (respond), Tangguh (resilient)” in responding to information in disaster emergency situations.

The Development of Disaster Mitigation Curriculum to Improve Disaster Response Capabilities At The Elementary School In Indonesia

Abstract: Disasters threaten the safety of vulnerable groups such the eldery, children and women. Based on the case of natural disasters that occurred in Indonesia, the need for a pragmatic strategy in forming the Indonesian people are aware of the dangers of natural disasters. One strategic step that taken is through the education sector. This research aims to create a disaster mitigation curriculum that has been formulated to produce disaster responsive learners. This research uses R&amp;D (research and development method) by Borg and Gall (2003), in the stages of research and information, planning and initial product development. While for curriculum development used the Tyler model with the infusion method and block method. Data collection techniques used namely interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings of this research are based curriculum products to the stages of disaster mitigation include, 1) the concept of disaster mitigation curriculum, 2) The concept of the learning process (Intrakurikuler), 3) The concept of training process (Extracurricular, and 4) The concept of the assessment process (Evaluation). These results indicate curriculum products are made to increase disaster response capabilities of students through intracurricular and extracurricular activities as well as minimizing the impact of the disaster victims and improve disaster response capabilities for students in Indonesia.&#x0D; &#x0D; Keywords: Curriculum, Disaster Mitigation, Tyler's Model.

EVALUASI SEKOLAH LAPANG SISTEM TANAM PADI JAJAR LEGOWO SUPER DENGAN METODE TYLER

Field school is one of the extension approaches to disseminate technology in rice cultivation. Evaluation of field schools can be done by using the Tyler method. The objectives of this study were (1) to analyze the understanding of farmers (knowledge, attitudes and skills) in implementing the cultivation of jajar legowo super systems of rice; (2) identify the achievement of extension in field school. The results showed that the farmers' knowledge, attitudes and skills were at moderate to high levels. Perceptions of legal legitimacy in veterans treatment courts: A test of a modified version of procedural justice theory.

Perceptions of the legitimacy of a society's legal system help explain individual responses to courts and legal actors. Normative considerations such as fair and respectful treatment as well as social identification have demonstrated the ability to enhance perceived legal legitimacy and future cooperation. Veterans treatment courts (VTCs) are a rapidly disseminating and understudied intervention. Their targeting of a socially esteemed group presents an interesting venue to explore normative theories of justice. The present study tested a modified version of Tyler's theory of procedural justice in this setting. We hypothesized that procedural justice, social bonds, and receipt of gratitude for military service would be positively associated with veteran identity and legal legitimacy. We further hypothesized that participants' identification as veterans would mediate the relationships between the three independent variables and legitimacy. A cross-sectional survey design was used with a convenience sample (N = 191) of participants in two VTCs. Analyses controlled for race, ethnicity, recidivism risk, and combat exposure. Perceptions of procedural justice, social bonds, and receipt of gratitude were positively associated with veteran identity and perceptions of legal legitimacy. Further, veteran identity was found to be a significant mediator between the first three constructs and legal legitimacy. The results support the importance of procedural justice in explaining perceptions of legal legitimacy in a novel context that is rapidly proliferating and understudied and has unique social identity considerations. EVALUASI IMPLEMENTASI KEBIJAKAN OTONOMI PENDIDIKAN DARI DINAS PENDIDIKAN KABUPATEN/KOTA KE DINAS PENDIDIKAN PROPINSI KALIMANTAN TIMUR

The objectives of the research are to: (1) find out the effectiveness of the implementation of education autonomy policy from regency / city to province; (2) to know the effectiveness of the realization of education budget; (3) to know the effectiveness of quality improvement of education quality; (4) to know politicization; And (5) finding new strategies for implementing education autonomy policies. The study used the Tyler model evaluation study. Level of effectiveness using percentages. Qualitative data were analyzed with McMilland model. The validity of qualitative data uses credibility, dependability, transferability, and confirmability.The study concluded: (1) the implementation of education policy autonomy is about 50% (quite effective), qualitatively ineffective; (2) the realization of the education budget is 25% (not effective) and also qualitatively ineffective; (3) teacher quality improvement 65.30% (effective), qualitatively ineffective; (4) teacher politicization hampers the professionalism and career development of teachers, shifts the politicization of teachers from districts / municipalities to the politics of what, when, and how to get something, no true friend of true interest, art of possibility, way; (5) the new strategy for streamlining the implementation of education autonomy policy is 8K in bebaya

Problems of Tylerian Curriculum Development for Parents Education

It is natural to adopt a school curriculum model to develop parent education curriculum. However it is necessary to examine its limits and possibilities since parents are different from school age students. Therefore, this research first reviewed Tyler's model of curriculum development critically and presented the weak points to be studied. Based on the analysis, research questions for parent education curriculum were inferred. Those research topics were as follows: 1 Assessing the needs of parent education, 2 a matter of coordinating parents' preferences, needs of the society, and opinions of subject specialists, 3 the necessity of fundamental researches on adults and parents, 4 problems of using secondary materials and necessity of original resources, 5 problems related to distinguishing parents education and school parents education, 6 needs of experiential research upon selection and organization of learning experiences, and 7 necessity of research on criteria and methods of evaluation.
