Polydopamine-modified MXene-integrated photothermal responsive hydrogel for constructing rapid photothermal and self-sensing gradi- ent hydrogel actuators

Abstract PNIPAm-based stimuli-responsive hydrogel actuators have made significant progress. By introducing responsive modules such as photothermal nanoparticles, the hydrogel can respond to environmental changes and construct anisotropic structures, allowing the hydrogel actuators to quickly bend and realize complex shape deformation. How-ever, there remains a need to enhance the mechanical properties of these hydrogels to accommodate multiple deformation actions and different application scenarios, and enhance the compatibility between nanoparticles and the hydrogels to improve the comprehensive performance of materials are still issues that need to be solved. In this study, we modified two-dimensional MXene nanosheets with polydopamine (PDA) to obtain P-MXene, which served as a photothermal agent and can be stably dispersed within the hydrogel system. We copolymerized thermosensitive N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAm) and 2-(dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate (DMAEMA) in situ and used a direct current (DC) electric field to induce a concentration gradient distribution of P-MXene nanosheets within the hydrogel, resulting in the preparation of anisotropic gradient hydrogel actuators with good stretchability and conductivity. The hydrogel structure was characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and the Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra. The swelling properties, mechani-cal properties and conductivity of the hydrogel were studied. The actuation behavior of P(NIPAm-DMAEMA)/P-MXene gradient hydrogel actuators under different thickness and electric field intensity was investigated. Additionally, the sensitivity and stability of the conductive hydrogel actuators were tested. and the functions of monitoring human health and information transmission were realized. It integrated with rapid photo responsiveness and self-sensing capabilities to monitor the defor-mation process of the actuators through real-time relative resistance changes during the actuations. This work is expected to expand the application field of soft hydrogel actuators and provide new insights into the design of a new generation of soft robots.

Two-dimensional MXene Nanosheets and their Composites for Antibacterial Textiles: Current Trends and Future Prospects

Abstract: As a novel two-dimensional (2D) nanosheet (NS), MXene has attracted attention in antibacterial applications due to its excellent high surface area, remarkable hydrophilicity, strong flexibility, and excellent antibacterial properties. This review intends to provide valuable insight into the further development of antibacterial MXenes and their composite materials. In this paper, we review the antibacterial mechanisms of MXenes and their composite materials and summarize the research progress of antibacterial finishing fabrics, fibers and dressings based on MXene NSs. Due to the rich oxygen-containing groups, 2D MXene NSs and its composites exhibited significant antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Bacillus subtilis so they have been widely used in antibacterial textiles including finishing fabrics, fibers, and dressings. 2D MXene NSs have showed some antibacterial properties based on cell experiments or blood tests. The antibacterial mechanisms mainly include physical sterilization and chemical oxidative stress sterilization. The future direction of antibacterial textiles based on MXenes was proposed.

Synergic effect between La-MOF and MXene: Revolutionizing TPU with improved mechanical strength and fire safety

Two-dimensional MXene nanosheets with lamellar structure and high specific surface area are considered promising flame retardants for polymers. However, MXene easily accumulates in polymer materials, resulting in the impairment of their mechanical properties. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) not only address this issue effectively but also improve compatibility with polymer materials due to their organic components. In this work, lanthanide rare-earth MOF (La-MOF) were successfully grown in-situ on the MXene surface to prepare hybrid flame retardants (La-MOF@MXene), then added to thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). The La-MOF suppressed the accumulation of MXene in TPU, and the synergistic effect between them improved the fire safety and mechanical strength of TPU composites. The peak heat release rate of the TPU composites with the addition of 3 wt% La-MOF@MXene was 473.3 kW/m2, which represented a 49.4 % decrease compared to that of pure TPU. Besides, due to the synergic properties of MXene and La-MOF, La-MOF@MXene further reduced total smoke, CO2, and CO of TPU composites in fires. Moreover, with the addition of 3.0 wt% La-MOF@MXene, the tensile strength and elongation at break of TPU composites dramatically improved to 42.4 MPa and 686 %, respectively. Therefore, this study provides a novel paradigm for preparing hybrid flame retardants that can improve the fire safety and mechanical properties of TPU composites, exhibiting broad application prospects.

Highly Sensitive Ammonia Gas Sensors at Room Temperature Based on the Catalytic Mechanism of N, C Coordinated Ni Single-Atom Active Center

HighlightsExploiting single-atom catalytic activation and targeted adsorption properties, Ni single-atom active sites based on N, C coordination are constructed on the surface of two-dimensional MXene nanosheets (Ni–N–C/Ti3C2Tx), enabling highly sensitive and selective NH3 gas detection.The catalytic activation effect of Ni–N–C/Ti3C2Tx effectively reduces the Gibbs free energy of the sensing elemental reaction, while its electronic structure promotes the spill-over effect of reactive oxygen species at the gas–solid interface.An end-sealing passivation strategy utilizing a conjugated hydrogen bond network of the conductive polymer was employed on MXene-based flexible electrodes, effectively mitigating the oxidative degradation of MXene-based gas sensors.

Constructing MXene-based mixed-dimensional structure with multiple interfaces to optimize dielectric-magnetic synergistic effect for effective electromagnetic wave absorption

Exploring efficient microwave absorbing materials (MAMs) which could convert electromagnetic (EM) energy into thermal energy represents an approbatory vision to reducing EM radiation and interference. Designing of mixed-dimensional structure with multiple interfaces represents the available target to investigate an ideal MAMs, which maximizes the superiority of mixed-dimensional structure in electromagnetic wave absorption (EMWA). Herein, we take full advantage of multiple interfaces engineering of MXene for optimizing the impedance matching to improve EMWA, MXene-based mixed-dimensional structure was designed by incorporating three-dimensional Fe3C@Carbon layers coated zero-dimensional Fe3O4 nanoparticles (NPs) supported two-dimensional MXene nanosheets (MXene/Fe3O4@Fe3C@Carbon, MFC). The Fe3O4@Fe3C@C with Core@shell structure arrests the essentially self-restacked of MXene and provides various attenuation mechanisms for the incident electromagnetic waves (EMWs). By regulating the carbonization temperature, the MFC exhibits enhanced EMWA property which is attributed to the characteristic structure and optimized dielectric-magnetic synergy effect. The minimum reflection loss (RLmin) value of MFC can reach to −64.3 dB with a matching thickness of 1.73 mm. Otherwise, the maximum effective absorption bandwidth (EAB) (RLmin < -10 dB) reaches 6.42 GHz at only 1.5 mm. Thus, our study refers a novel-fire enlighten to develop excellent mixed-dimensional microwave absorbent based on MXene.

Platinum nanowires/MXene nanosheets/porous carbon ternary nanocomposites for in situ monitoring of dopamine released from neuronal cells

Dopamine is an important neurotransmitter in the body and closely related to many neurodegenerative diseases. Therefore, the detection of dopamine is of great significance for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, screening of drugs and unraveling of relevant pathogenic mechanisms. However, the low concentration of dopamine in the body and the complexity of the matrix make the accurate detection of dopamine challenging. Herein, an electrochemical sensor is constructed based on ternary nanocomposites consisting of one-dimensional Pt nanowires, two-dimensional MXene nanosheets, and three-dimensional porous carbon. The Pt nanowires exhibit excellent catalytic activity due to the abundant grain boundaries and highly undercoordinated atoms; MXene nanosheets not only facilitate the growth of Pt nanowires, but also enhance the electrical conductivity and hydrophilicity; and the porous carbon helps induce significant adsorption of dopamine on the electrode surface. In electrochemical tests, the ternary nanocomposite-based sensor achieves an ultra-sensitive detection of dopamine (S/N = 3) with a low limit of detection (LOD) of 28 nM, satisfactory selectivity and excellent stability. Furthermore, the sensor can be used for the detection of dopamine in serum and in situ monitoring of dopamine release from PC12 cells. Such a highly sensitive nanocomposite sensor can be exploited for in situ monitoring of important neurotransmitters at the cellular level, which is of great significance for related drug screening and mechanistic studies.

Tailoring the peroxidase-like properties of Mo atom nanoclusters/N-MXene nanozymes for sensitive colorimetric detection of glutathione

Although nanozyme engineering has made tremendous progress, there is a huge gap between them and natural enzymes due to the enormous challenge of precisely adjusting the geometric and electronic structure of active sites. Considering that intentionally adjusting the metal-carrier interactions may bring the promising catalytic activity, in this work, a novel Mo atom nanocluster is successfully synthesized using nitrogen-doped Mxene (MoACs/N-MXene) nanozymes as carriers. The constructed MoACs/N-MXene displays excellent peroxidase-like catalytic activity and kinetics, outweighing its N-MXene and Mo nanoparticles (NPs)-MXene references and natural horse radish peroxidase. This work not only reports a successful example of MoACs/N-MXene nanozyme as a guide for achieving peroxidase-mimic performance of nanozymes for colorimetric glutathione sensing at 0.29 μM, but also expands the application prospects of two-dimensional MXene nanosheets by reasonably introducing metal atomic clusters and nonmetal atom doping and exploring related nanozyme properties.

Triple Effect of "Conductivity-Adsorption-Catalysis" Enables MXene@FeCoNiP to be Sulfur Hosts for Lithium-Sulfur Batteries.

The weak chemical immobilization ability and poor catalytic effect of MXene inhibit its application in lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries. Herein, a novel MXene@FeCoNiP composite is rationally developed and utilized as a sulfur host for Li-S batteries. In this well-designed MXene-based nanostructure, the introduction of FeCoNiP in the interlayer of MXene nanosheets can not only effectively inhibit the restacking of MXene nanosheets but also act as an accelerator for the adsorption and catalysis of polysulfides to restrain the shuttling effect and facilitate the transformation of polysulfides. The existence of two-dimensional MXene nanosheets provides more active sites and improves the conductivity, which is beneficial for accelerating the reaction kinetics. Thus, the as-prepared MXene@FeCoNiP composites achieve an outstanding performance for Li-S batteries. This work provides an opportunity to construct an ideal sulfur host with the triple effect of "conductivity-adsorption-catalysis".

Self-assembly of a AuNPs/Ti3C2 MXene hydrogel for cascade amplification of microRNA-122 biosensing.

A three-dimensional (3D) self-assembled AuNPs/Ti3C2 MXene hydrogel (AuNPs/Ti3C2 MXH) nanocomposite was prepared for the fabrication of a novel microRNA-122 electrochemical biosensor. The 3D hydrogel structure was gelated from two-dimensional MXene nanosheets with the assistance of graphite oxide and ethylenediamine. MXene hydrogels supported the in situ formation of Au nanoparticles (AuNPs) that predominantly exploring the (111) facet, and these AuNPs are utilized as carriers for hairpin DNA (hpDNA) probes, facilitating DNA hybridization. MXene acted as both a reductant and stabilizer, significantly improving the electrochemical signal. In addition, the conjugation of PAMAM dendrimer-encapsulated AuNPs and H-DNA worked as an ideal bridge to connect targets and efficient electrochemical tags, providing a high amplification efficiency for the sensing of microRNA-122. A linear relationship between the peak currents and the logarithm of the concentrations of microRNA-122 from 1.0 × 10-2 to 1.0 × 102 fM(I = 1.642 + 0.312 lgc, R2 = 0.9891), is obtained. The detection limit is 0.8 × 10-2 fM (S/N = 3). The average recovery for human serum detection ranged from 97.32 to 101.4% (RSD < 5%).

MXene and AgNW based flexible transparent conductive films with sandwich structure for high-performance EMI shielding and electrical heaters

With the popularization of 5G technology and the development of science and technology, flexible and transparent conductive films (TCF) are increasingly used in the preparation of optoelectronic devices such as electromagnetic shielding devices, transparent flexible heaters, and solar cells. Silver nanowires (AgNW) are considered the best material for replacing indium tin oxide to prepare TCFs due to their excellent comprehensive properties. However, the loose overlap between AgNWs is a significant reason for the high resistance. This article investigates a sandwich structured conductive network composed of AgNW and Ti3C2Tx MXene for high-performance EMI shielding and transparent electrical heaters. Polyethylene pyrrolidone (PVP) solution was used to hydrophilic modify PET substrate, and then MXene, AgNW, and MXene were assembled layer by layer using spin coating method to form a TCF with a sandwich structure. One-dimensional AgNW is used to provide electron transfer channels and improve light penetration, while two-dimensional MXene nanosheets are used for welding AgNWs and adding additional conductive channels. The flexible TCF has excellent transmittance (85.1 % at 550 nm) and EMI shielding efficiency (27.1 dB). At the voltage of 5 V, the TCF used as a heater can reach 85.6 °C. This work offers an innovative approach to creating TCFs for the future generation.

MnOx/Ti3C2Tx MXene/Carbon Nanofibers composite fiber film electrode with good flexibility derived by combining electrospinning technique with carbonization treatment

The restack of MXene nanosheets greatly affects its electrochemical performance and application, while electrospinning technique can spin two-dimensional MXene nanosheets into one-dimensional nanofibers, which can prevent the self-stacking of MXene nanosheets. Herein, MnOx/Ti3C2Tx MXene/CNFs (carbon nanofibers) composite fiber films with good flexibility were prepared by combining an electrospinning technique and a carbonization treatment, in which the pseudo capacitive material MnO2 mixed with carbon nanotube (CNT) was introduced into Ti3C2Tx MXene. The synergistic effect of MnOx, Ti3C2Tx MXene and CNFs improves the capacitance and flexibility of the composite fiber film, and the specific capacitance of the MnOx/Ti3C2Tx MXene/CNFs fiber film electrode delivers 211.57 F·g−1 at a scanning rate of 2 mV·s−1. After 3000 cycles at a current density of 5 A·g−1, it can still maintain 95% of the initial capacitance. The results indicate that the MnOx/Ti3C2Tx MXene/CNFs composite fiber films have great potential for flexible supercapacitors.

A Synergistic Antibacterial Study of Copper-Doped Polydopamine on Ti3C2Tx Nanosheets with Enhanced Photothermal and Fenton-like Activities.

In response to the trend of drug-resistant and super bacteria, the existing single antibacterial methods are not sufficient to kill bacteria, and the development of multifunctional antibacterial nanomaterials is urgent. Our study aims to construct copper-doped polydopamine-coated Ti3C2Tx (CuPDA@Ti3C2Tx) with an enhanced photothermal property and Fenton-like activity. The nanocomposite hydrogel consisting of CuPDA@Ti3C2Tx and alginate can improve the antioxidant activity of two-dimensional MXene nanosheets by coating them with a thin layer of PDA nanofilm. Meanwhile, Cu ions are adsorbed through the coordination of PDA-rich oxygen-containing functional groups and amino groups. Calcium ions were further used to crosslink sodium alginate to obtain antibacterial hydrogel materials with combined chemotherapy and photothermal therapy properties. The photothermal conversion efficiency of CuPDA@Ti3C2Tx is as high as 57.7% and the antibacterial rate of Escherichia coli reaches 96.12%. The photothermal effect leads to oxidative stress in bacteria, increases cell membrane permeability, and a high amount of ROS and copper ions enter the interior of the bacteria, causing protein denaturation and DNA damage, synergistically leading to bacterial death. Our study involves a multifunctional synergistic antibacterial nanodrug platform, which is conducive to the development of high-performance antibacterial agents and provides important research ideas for solving the problem of drug-resistant bacteria.

Construction of CoFe2O4/MXene hybrids with plentiful heterointerfaces for high-performance electromagnetic wave absorption through dielectric-magnetic cooperation strategy

Developing high-efficiency electromagnetic wave (EMW) absorption materials is urgently demanded but challenging to tackle the increasingly serious electromagnetic radiation pollution. In this regard, a novel multi-heterostructure hybrid consisting of two-dimensional MXene nanosheets and zero-dimensional CoFe2O4 nanoparticles was successfully constructed by facile solvothermal approach. Benefiting from the improved impedance matching, electric/magnetic coupling effect, polarization loss originated from numerous heterointerfaces and defects, as well as multiple reflection and scattering, the resultant CoFe2O4/MXene (CM) hybrids realize brilliant EMW absorption performance. Notably, the final EMW absorption performance of CM hybrids is closely associated with their electromagnetic parameters, which could be facilely regulated by adjusting the ratios of CoFe2O4 to MXene. The resultant CM hybrids present the optimal minimum reflection loss (RLmin) of −58.8 dB at 9.59 GHz with a tiny thickness of 2.36 mm and exhibit a broad effective absorption bandwidth (EAB) of 6.3 GHz (11.7–18.0 GHz) at a thickness of only 2.03 mm, which covers the whole Ku band. In addition, the effectiveness of CM hybrids as highly efficient EMW absorption materials in real condition is intuitively demonstrated by the radar cross section simulation. This work paves a new route for synthesizing high-performance MXene-based EMW absorption materials with superior practical application value.

Ultrasensitive Ratiometric Electrochemiluminescence Sensor with an Efficient Antifouling and Antibacterial Interface of PSBMA@SiO2-MXene for Oxytetracycline Trace Detection in the Marine Environment.

The sensitivity and accuracy of electrochemiluminescence (ECL) sensors for detecting small-molecule pollutants in environmental water are affected not only by nonspecific adsorption of proteins and other molecules but also by bacterial interference. Therefore, there is an urgent need to develop an ECL sensor with antifouling and antibacterial functions for water environment monitoring. Herein, a highly efficient antifouling sensing interface (PSBMA@SiO2-MXene) based on zwitterionic sulfobetaine methacrylate (SBMA) antifouling nanospheres (NPs) and two-dimensional MXene nanosheets was designed for the sensitive detection of oxytetracycline (OTC), an antibiotic small-molecule pollutant. Specifically, SBMA with good hydrophilicity and electrical neutrality was connected to SiO2 NPs, thus effectively reducing protein and bacterial adsorption and improving stability. Second, MXene with a high specific surface area was selected as the carrier to load more antifouling NPs, which greatly improves the antifouling performance. Meanwhile, the introduction of MXene also enhances the conductivity of the antifouling interface. In addition, a ratio-based sensing strategy was designed to further improve the detection accuracy and sensitivity of the sensor by utilizing Au@luminol as an internal standard factor. Based on antifouling and antibacterial interfaces, as well as internal standard and ratiometric sensing strategies, the detection range of the proposed sensor was 0.1 ng/mL to 100 μg/mL, with a detection limit of 0.023 ng/mL, achieving trace dynamic monitoring of antibiotics in complex aqueous media.

Mechanically Tough and Highly Stretchable Hydrogels Based on Polyurethane for Sensitive Strain Sensor.

Hydrogels with flexible and stretchable properties are ideal for applications in wearable sensors. However, traditional hydrogel-based sensors suffer from high brittleness and low electrical sensitivity. In this case, to solve this dilemma, a macromolecular polyurethane crosslinking agent (PCA) was designed and prepared; after that, PCA and two-dimensional (2D) MXene nanosheets were both introduced into a covalently crosslinked network to enhance the comprehensive mechanical and electrochemical properties of the hydrogels. The macromolecular polyurethane crosslinking agent promotes high-tensile strength and highly stretchable capacity by suitable covalent crosslinking. The optimized hydrogel, which exhibited maximum tensile strength and maximum elongation at break, had results of 1.21 MPa and 644%, respectively. Two-dimensional MXene nanosheets provide hydrogel with high electrical conductivity and strain sensitivity, producing a wearable device for the continuous monitoring of human movements and facial microexpressions. This study demonstrated an efficient structure design strategy for building mechanically tough, highly stretchable, and sensitive dual-mode MXenes-based wearable sensors.

Achieving superior anti-corrosion properties of vinyl ester resin coatings via compositing with 3-methacryloxy propyl trimethoxysilane functionalized MXene nanosheets

Exposure of steel to harsh marine environment can cause serious corrosion, which significantly affects its durability. In this study, a novel two-dimensional MXene nanosheets were functionalized with 3-methacryloxy propyl trimethoxysilane (γ-MPS@MXene) followed by introducing into the vinyl ester resin (VER) through solution blending method to enhance the anti-corrosion properties of the coatings. The effects of γ-MPS@MXene incorporation on the mechanical properties, thermal stability, dynamic thermo-mechanical properties, UV aging resistance, anti-corrosion properties of the VER nanocomposites were systematically investigated. The optimum tensile strength, elastic modulus, hardness, thermal stability and UV aging resistance of γ-MPS@MXene VER nanocomposites can be achieved when composited with 0.08 wt% γ-MPS@MXene. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) results demonstrate the introduction of γ-MPS@MXene nanosheets into the VER enhanced the anti-corrosion properties of the composites coating remarkablely and the anti-corrosion mechanism was also revealed. The favourable interfacial interaction between γ-MPS@MXene and VER matrix through covalent cross-linking diminished interfacial defects of the composite coating and was also beneficial to enhancement of the compatibility, the well-dispersed γ-MPS@MXene in VER created a “labyrinth effect”, which prolonged the diffusion path of corrosive medium to the carbon steel substrate. This research provides a promising strategy for the fabrication of heavy anti-corrosion nanocomposite resin coatings, which can realize long-term corrosion protection of metal substrates.

Hexaazatriphenylene-doped MXene films for the high-performance micro-supercapacitors and wearable pressure sensor system

Two-dimensional MXene nanosheets have found extensive applications in portable electronic devices and flexible energy storage systems. However, the self-stacking effect caused by van der Waals forces severely restricts the rapid transport of electrolyte ions, thereby impacting the electrochemical performance. Here, nitrogen-doped MXene nanosheets (MXene-H) were obtained via surface modification of MXene with hexaazidotriphenylene (HAT) derivatives. The nitrogen atoms introduced between the layers act as pillars, widening the layer spacing and exposing more electrochemically active sites. By optimizing the doping ratio, the MXene-H micro-supercapacitor (MXene-H-MSC) exhibits outstanding electrochemical performance, with an area capacitance of 210.1 mF/cm2 and an energy density of 29.18 mWh/cm2, significantly surpassing that of previously reported MXene-based micro-supercapacitors. Moreover, the MXene-H-MSC demonstrates excellent cycling stability and flexibility, retaining 95% capacitance after 10,000 cycles, with no significant capacitance degradation observed in the CV curves tested at different angles. Furthermore, a micro-integrated system composed of the MXene-H-MSC and an MXene hydrogel pressure sensor in series can effectively respond to small changes in body movements, including speaking and finger flexing. This work provides potential guidance for research into the next generation of microelectronics.

Integrating two-dimensional MXene fillers into nanocellulose for the fabrication of CO2 separation membranes

To achieve high capability mixed matrix membranes for CO2 separation, it is vital to construct the suitable transport channels to enhance the diffusivity-enabled selectivity as well as an excellent affinity toward target gas molecules to increase the solubility-based selectivity. Herein, composite membranes were constructed by integrating two-dimensional MXene nanosheets into a carboxylated nanocellulose matrix. The carboxyl-rich cellulose interacts with the surface groups of MXene, which contributes to a superior interface compatibility and repairs the non-selective voids. In particular, one-dimensional nanocellulose can intercalate into MXene laminates to regulate the interlayer spacing and suppress the re-stacking of MXenes. The resulting MC-3 membrane (with a MXene loading of 15.4 wt%) possesses the optimal separation performance, bearing a CO2 permeability of 156.7 Barrer with ideal selectivities of 47.8 for CO2/CH4 and 42.6 for CO2/N2. For the mixed gas separation, the MC-3 membrane exhibits separation factors of 48.5 and 55.3 for CO2/N2 and CO2/CH4, respectively. This excellent separation performance is resulted from the enhanced interfacial property, suitable MXene channel size and good CO2-solubility of nanocellulose.

Hydrothermal synthesis of cobalt ferrite-functionalized Ti3C2Tx MXene for the degradation of Congo red via peroxymonosulfate activation system

Cobalt ferrite was functionalized onto two-dimensional MXene nanosheets (CoFe2O4 @MXene) using a hydrothermal method. These functionalized nanosheets were employed as activators to investigate the catalytic degradation of Congo red (CR) through peroxymonosulfate (PMS) activation. The mass ratio of cobalt ferrite in the nanosheets played a significant role in CR degradation, and the optimal cobalt ferrite/MXene mass ratio was determined to be 1:1. With a catalyst dosage of 0.25 g/L and the addition of 0.3 mM PMS, the CoFe2O4 @MXene exhibited an impressive degradation rate, achieving approximately 98.9 % degradation within just 30 min. This rapid degradation was attributed to the enhanced electron transfer efficiency at the Co2+/Co3+, Fe3+/Fe2+ and Ti2+/Ti4+ junctions. Extensive analysis using electron spin resonance spectroscopy and scavenger experiments revealed that singlet oxygen (1O2) played a crucial role as the major oxidative species in the non-radical pathway of CR degradation. Based on the findings, a detailed degradation mechanism, degradation intermediates, and potential pathways were proposed, taking into account the reactive oxidative species involved in the process.
