The relevance of the presented topic is currently determined by the problem of proper law enforce-ment, which is in direct connection with the problem of legal understanding, and therefore interpreta-tion, clarification of the true meaning and content of the rule of law, determination of the will of the legislator inherent in it. The process of interpretation also implies the need to establish the main pur-pose and social orientation of a legal norm, the socio-political environment of its adoption, the condi-tions under which interpretation takes place, and other legally significant circumstances. One of the main requirements for a legal norm is its certainty. How definite a legal norm is becomes clear only in the process of its practical application in a specific situation by a specially authorized state body, an official, including an employee of internal affairs bodies, a court and a judge. When determining research methods, it is necessary to take into account the specifics of the topic "The importance of judicial practice for the formation of students studying under the basic programs of initial training, law understanding and law enforcement", which leads to the conclusion that this category of employees of internal affairs bodies undergoing initial training does not have practical skills in law enforcement and law understanding, therefore it is inappropriate to survey them on these issues at the present time, but the possibility of using such research methods such as analysis, synthesis and some others.

Misconceptions of metaverse: from etymology to technology

The emergence of the metaverse in society is followed by certain confusions, whereas the line between virtual reality and the metaverse remains unclear. Ironically, this has affected the development of the metaverse itself, focusing more on virtual reality while being one of its side components. This has led to the concept losing popularity compared to artificial intelligence technology. This research is a qualitative study that aims to explore the issues at the root of misconceptions and reconstruct the true meaning of the metaverse itself. This research indicates that the misconception already existed when the term was first used alongside virtual reality technology. The term "meta" refers to a higher reality, whereas the terms "digiverse" or "virtuverse" can be used, considering that the terms "digital" and "virtual" can refer to realities lower than the universe.

Uma «nova teologia» para um tempo novo

Luther was, fundamentally, a theologian, but a theologian for a new time.He is, probably, one of the first fruits of the «new theology» heralded by Lorenzo Valla, founded on the Scriptures and the Church Fathers, both anti-scholastic and anti-speculative. Like others in Alcalá, Paris, Salamanca, or Louvain, hedesired a «positive» and pastorally relevant theology. Luther, moreover, championed an existential theology that impacted the believer’s daily life. This perspective was driven by his discovery, during years of teaching the Pauline letters, of the true meaning of justification by faith! He found in this theological theme the core of the Christian proclamation. Subsequently, he engaged in a struggle against the «theology of glory» (scholastic and speculative theology), to emphasize the true theology revealed by God, the «theology of the cross». He was not interested in an abstract God (the God absconditus), but in the God who communicates and relates with man. That is, the pro me of Lutheran soteriology.

Impak Pendekatan Terjemahan Terhadap Kualiti Penterjemahan Eufemisme al-Quran ke Bahasa Melayu

Translation of the Quran into Malay poses challenges due to cultural and linguistic factors. Among the difficulties faced by translators are conveying the true meaning of Quranic euphemisms and thoroughly examining the linguistic rules within society. Therefore, the application of appropriate translation methods is significant for producing high-quality works. This study was conducted to identify the impact of translation approach on the quality of the translation of Quranic euphemisms into Malay. This qualitative study was conducted by adapting the Euphemisms Translation Evaluation Model in the Quran (MPPEQ) by Olimat (2018) and Newmark's (1981) Semantic & Communicative theory. In this study, the researcher applied content analysis methods, focusing on six samples of Quranic euphemisms listed in the Corpus of Euphemism in the Quran by Olimat (2019). Four translations of the Quran into Malay were selected as study materials. The findings indicate that the applied translation approaches result in two impacts: successful translations and less successful ones. Consequently, the success and imperfection of translations depend on the approach used and the choice of words. The findings also demonstrate that methods incorporating additional explanatory insertions sometimes cause confusion in meaning due to functional lexical factors. Furthermore, maintaining the source text's register can be applied when there are similarities in linguistic and cultural elements within society. The study also found translations that do not retain the euphemistic style, resulting in discourse implications of dysphemism. In conclusion, the study has explored new dimensions related to the concept of euphemism in the Quran and its translation approaches into Malay.

Measurement Invariance of the HEXACO-100 Across Gender Groups: A Three-Sample Study.

We used exploratory structural equation modeling to examine gender-based measurement invariance (MI) in the HEXACO-100 across three samples that varied in terms of age (undergraduate students in Study 1, working adults in Studies 2 and 3) and testing context (research context in Studies 1 and 2, high-stakes selection context in Study 3). Across three studies, we consistently found support for configural and metric invariance but not scalar invariance. However, the effect size measures of non-invariance were generally small. That said, in the Emotionality scale, for the same latent score, females scored higher than males due to measurement non-invariance (between 0.26 and 0.48 standard deviation units). Thus, the observed mean gender differences overestimated the true mean gender differences. The current study provides detailed evidence regarding gender-based MI of HEXACO personality scales. More generally, it provides insight regarding the effect that measurement artifacts can have on understanding psychological gender differences at the latent level.

A Trilogy of Food, Photography And Social Media: Gastroporn

Eating is a biologically fundamental human activity. However, the real importance of eating stems not from its biological necessity but from its symbolic character. Food and eating also have psychological, social, and political significance. Food is a means by which love and desire are expressed and communicated. In addition, food serves purposes beyond filling the stomach, such as self-construction, identity formation, social status, gaining prestige, showing others who you are, and differentiating from others. In this context, the concept of gastroporn is considered a form of food that has moved away from its true meaning and undergone a shift in meaning and is expressed as aesthetic images of unattainable pleasure that replace real food. The presentation and visualization of the food, the preparation of the food, and the kitchen materials used often become more important than the food itself. Changing the existing image of the food and serving it with presentations that can emphasize the feelings and emotions of the consumer is the main reason underlying gastroporn. Although the pairing of food with pornography in the classical sense may sound repulsive and irreconcilable at first, the fact that the artistic aspect rather than the food itself comes to the fore in the dishes made with artistic mastery by the chefs in the kitchen, the "irresistible" erotic connotations of some ingredients and the professional photography of all these reveal the similarities between food and pornography. The sexual connotations of foods such as a burst yolk, a runny chocolate bar, and the elongation of hot cheese, bananas, ice cream, etc., reinforce the connection between food and pornography. The main thing emphasized in this article is that the concept of gastroporn is a new form of transforming food and that social media and food photography contribute positively to this new form.

Reading Gender Stereotypes in Printed Advertisements

Semiotics describes how advertising messages manipulate the connection between ‘meaning’ and ‘reality’ by investigating how already determined meanings are attributed to given products, thus establishing methods of decoding their true meaning. Therefore, the central theme of the semiotic approach to advertising is establishing a connection between meaning and reality. To that extent, semiotics as the science of signs is not an abstract study but rather reflects the essence of social life emphasizing the multi-layered and dynamic character of meaning creation. Advertising messages, therefore, have as much meaning as they have ‘readers’. This research aimed to establish a connection between gender stereotypes and advertising messages, i.e. to point out the main gender stereotypes shown in advertising messages, and to determine whether, in the new century, there have been changes in the way and contexts of the portrayal of women and men in advertisements compared to of the same in the past. A total of 31 advertising messages displayed in a women’s magazine were examined. A detailed analysis of the visual representation of female and male bodies, symbols, body positioning, and products was conducted. Messages are direct and open. Human bodies are glorified by emphasizing a healthy, well-shaped, well-groomed female and male body as a symbol of the extension of the species. It has also been noted that advertising messages reflect changes in society and social expectations among members of both sexes.

An efficient subsampling method for estimating corn root characteristics with scanner‐based image analysis

AbstractQuantifying root length, surface area, average diameter, and volume of fully‐matured corn (Zea mays L.) is labor intensive, time consuming, and costly. Accurate and efficient subsampling techniques are needed to overcome these limitations. In this study, eight corn root systems were grown to maturity in a sand‐culture hydroponics system to develop and test root system subsampling techniques for accuracy (uncertainty assessment) and efficiency (time). Each entire root system was separated into coarse and fine roots, which were then composited into 65 subsamples, either visually or by mass, followed by subsample scanning to quantify root characteristics. A bootstrap non‐parametric procedure was used to determine the sample size needed to represent the total root system and quantify uncertainty based on the number of subsamples analyzed. When subsamples were composited visually, as many as 60 subsamples (92% of the total root system) were necessary to represent the characteristics of the root system within ±5% of the true mean at a 95% confidence level. In contrast, when subsamples were composited by equal mass, a maximum of 15 subsamples (23% of the total root system) were needed to be representative, requiring 2 h and 15 min per root system. The findings show that separating the entire root system by coarse and fine roots and then weighing into equal mass subsamples before scanning decreased the number of subsamples and time required to accurately estimate corn root characteristics. Thus, this subsampling approach considerably reduced the effort and cost of processing corn root systems.

Multi-Source Information Graph Embedding with Ensemble Learning for Link Prediction

Link prediction is a key technique for connecting entities and relationships in a graph reasoning field. It leverages known information about the graph structure data to predict missing factual information. Previous studies have either focused on the semantic representation of a single triplet or on the graph structure data built on triples. The former ignores the association between different triples, and the latter ignores the true meaning of the node itself. Furthermore, common graph-structured datasets inherently face challenges, such as missing information and incompleteness. In light of this challenge, we present a novel model called Multi-source Information Graph Embedding with Ensemble Learning for Link Prediction (EMGE), which can effectively improve the reasoning of link prediction. Ensemble learning is systematically applied throughout the model training process. At the data level, this approach enhances entity embeddings by integrating structured graph information and unstructured textual data as multi-source information inputs. The fusion of these inputs is effectively addressed by introducing an attention mechanism. During the training phase, the principle of ensemble learning is employed to extract semantic features from multiple neural network models, facilitating the interaction of enriched information. To ensure effective model learning, a novel loss function based on contrastive learning is devised, effectively minimizing the discrepancy between predicted values and the ground truth. Moreover, to enhance the semantic representation of graph nodes in link prediction, two rules are introduced during the aggregation of graph structure information. These rules incorporate the concept of spreading activation, enabling a more comprehensive understanding of the relationships between nodes and edges in the graph. During the testing phase, the EMGE model is validated on three datasets, including WN18RR, FB15k-237, and a private Chinese financial dataset. The experimental results demonstrate a reduction in the mean rank (MR) by 0.2 times, an improvement in the mean reciprocal rank (MRR) by 5.9%, and an increase in the Hit@1 by 12.9% compared to the baseline model.

Cyclical comparison of succession of civilizations by Ibn Khaldun and Spingler

Civilization and history are two autonomous notions while there is an important correlation between them. We are not able to say anything on civilization without looking back at history. One can say civilization creates history and history rewrites civilization. It is the duty of history to explore and study civilization and the reason for their creation thoroughly. According to Spengler’s analysis the interpterion of civilization and history in his famous book (The decline of the West). He believes that the principal of history is civilizations. History is inconceivable in its true meaning, without civilization. He mentions that each civilization has its own figures. This philosopher believes that like all the other creatures civilization is born and alive and passes through all stage of live, youth, old ages and death. Which is a current role of history. Conversely, Ibn Khaldun considers that history is a science among the sciences, it has its own methods that the historical events can be clarified historically and each accident can be attributed to its actual intention. The historians must use different methods. They must have a critical idea. He believes that human society is developing just like an alive creature. Whenever a society becomes historic, another society takes its place. This cycle goes through several stages, migration stage, invasion stage and urban stage. Consequently, these theorists have an alive cycle analysis for the stages of civilization. They believe that as human beings civilization are born they grow and then they breakdown. Nonetheless, they have different opinions, Spengler claims that history isn’t a science. Conversely Ibn Khaldun has tried hard to identify history as a science. According to Ibn Khaldun, the nations are trying to improve life from migration to civilization. But then again according to Spengler the nations are basically belong to the civilization.

The Conflict between Individuals and Society in Seize the Day

This paper explores the existential problem in Seize the Day—the conflict between individuals and society in modern society. With a brief introduction of Saul Bellow and the novel, the paper emphasizes the analysis of the conflict and the sources of the conflict. Besides, Saul Bellow uses many rhetorical devices to intensify the conflict. The analysis of these rhetorical devices is beneficial for us to interpret and understand the true meaning of the novel. Through the study of Bellow’s vision and the novel’s metaphorical meaning, we may find an effective solution to the conflict that our human being is involved in, and realize the social values of this novel.

The Riddle of Mark 7:15

Abstract: Analyses of Mark 7:15 are absent from sustained discussion in studies of Jesus’s use of figurative language, despite its description as a παραβολή (“parable,” 7:17). Studies typically label this text a “riddle,” but this is generally undefined and its relationship to other figurative devices in language is mysterious. Accordingly, I discuss some modern categories of figurative language, like metaphor, riddle, and metaphorical riddle and consider how they are related to the topic of this article. I then analyze Mark 7:15 in the light of these discussions, concluding that the category of metaphorical riddle could be helpful in interpreting the Marcan text. In the context of the metaphorical riddle, Jesus, without providing a source domain, misleads the audience into thinking that the subject of 7:15b is something physical (probably excrement), when the true meaning relates to something abstract (sin). On this reading, Jesus’s metaphorical riddle implies something like, “excrement is to the body as sin is to the heart.” Regardless of one’s interpretation, I argue that greater clarity regarding definitions and methods would be beneficial to this conversation, which can be ad hoc and idiosyncratic. In my view, the interpretation can be improved by utilizing approaches of modern literary criticism concerning figurative language, which offers relatively coherent and stable terms by which we might continue this discussion.

Local wisdom tradition of maintenance of the upstream river

Various local wisdoms are used as the center of life, obeyed, revered and given a special place by every individual. Until now, these individuals still adhere to local wisdom passed down from generation to generation as the community's cultural heritage, namely the tradition of protecting the upper reaches of the Logawa River for the people of Baseh Village. A form of local wisdom in improving community welfare by relying on the values of ancestral teachings. The aim of this research is to examine local wisdom in the maintenance and utilization of the upstream area of the Logawa River in Baseh Kedungbanteng village, Banyumas Regency, to reveal cultural character biases related to human actions related to the natural surroundings where the community resides. This research uses a case study method which focuses on one particular object to be used as a case. Baseh Village, Kedungbanteng District. Data was obtained through studying the interconnectedness of evidence from several data sources at once, namely documents, recordings, observations, open, focused and structured interviews, as well as documentation studies. The results of the research show that the true meaning is revealed, namely increasing the welfare of society both economically and for the common good. their daily needs. Research on local wisdom traditions in upstream river maintenance can be an important basis for development policies and sustainable practices in managing river ecosystems throughout the world.

Selected Physical, Mechanical and Chemical Properties of Fresh Fruit Bunches for Processing of Palm Oil

Data on engineering properties of palm fruits enable the design of machinery for optimal production of palm oil. Specific physical, chemical, and mechanical characteristics of fresh fruit bunches are examined in this study. Fresh palm fruit's selected mechanical, chemical, and physical characteristics were determined using standard formulas and equations. One hundred fresh fruit bunch samples were used to ascertain the physical characteristics of the fruit bunches. While the chemical properties were ascertained using suggested standard equations and formulae, the fresh fruit bunches were tested for their strength properties under compression when loaded under an INSTRON Universal Testing Machine. Using the Microsoft Excel program, statistical analysis was performed on the collected data. The average length, breadth, thickness, geometric mean, sphericity, surface area, true mass, true volume and true density mean for palm fruits were 3.35±0.48 cm, 1.92±0.32 cm, 2.24±0.33 cm, 2.42±0.25 cm, 0.73±0.08 cm, 18.61±3.62 cm2, 7.99±1.81 g, 7.01±1.72 cm3, 1.17±0.24 g/cm3 respectively. The average static coefficient of frictions for palm fruits were 0.46±0.13, 0.64±0.18, 0.57±0.21 and 0.59±0.22 while the average angle of reposes was 24.48±6.08, 31.62±9.14, 29.26±6.80, and 29.91±9.11 on wood, mild steel, glass and stainless-steel surface respectively. The energy at break, force at break, deformation at break, strain at break, and stress at break for the palm fruits were 6.87±0.95 J, 2.22±0.80 kN, 14.58±3.02 mm, 0.36±0.08 mm/mm and 123.46±44.31 MPa respectively. The moisture, ash, fat, crude fibre, crude protein, and carbohydrate contents (proximate composition) of the palm fruits were 22.80±0.02%, 0.52±0.01%, 46.47±0.06%, 18.66±0.01%, 2.4±0.21%, and 9.14±0.30% respectively. The sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus and zinc contents of the palm fruits were 58.75±0.07 ppm, 94.20±0.14 ppm, 68.45±0.64 ppm, 5.21±0.00 ppm, 1.22±0.00 ppm, 1.60±0.00 ppm and 55.70±0.28 ppm respectively. This study has provided relevant information which will help engineers to develop a more efficient palm fruit extraction machines that will in turn increase the productivity and profitability of the farmers and food processors. These measured engineering properties of palm fruits help in development of palm fruit processing machines.

In particular, both are identical in that they seek to rescue the Idee of ‘immortality of the soul’ and ‘God’ using ‘freedom’ as the foundation. However, while Kant emphasizes ‘transcendental freedom’ and ‘practical freedom’ established through philosophical demonstration, Dostoevsky emphasizes ‘freedom of the beginning’ and ‘freedom of the end’ revealed through narrative dialogue. This difference is actively embodied in his many works, especially in The Brothers Karamazov. Ivan in The Brothers Karamazov can be understood as a character who represents the dangers and limitations of Idee established through philosophical demonstration. The Brothers Karamazov, written as a refutation of Ivan’s argument, can be interpreted as a work that presents an alternative. The Brothers Karamazov can be understood as a work that exemplifies the ‘metapraxis perspective’ in that it shows that the description of the process of finding the true meaning of Idee can directly explain and convey Idee. Idee derived through philosophical demonstration denies the two semantic elements of metapraxis, ‘the principle of circularity’ and ‘the standpoint of personal participation’ and as a result, the Idee has no choice but to end up as an ideology, not an Idee. Idee can be established starting from the answerability of enduring evil and suffering here and now, and the realization of Idee is freedom.

EFFECT OF YOGASANA AND ANULOM VILOM PRANAYAMA PRACTICE ON EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AMONG YOGA TEACHERS TRAINING STUDENTS

Background: This study tries to find out the effect of Yogasana and Anulom Vilom Pranayama on Emotional Intelligence among Yoga teacher training students. Method: This study included 120 participants of 45 days Yoga Teachers Training Course (YTTC) from Lakulish Yoga University, Ahmedabad. Data were gathered using the “Emotional Intelligence Scale (EIS-sans)” Here research design single group pre-test and post-test was used. For data analysis paired T-test was used. Results: The results showed a considerable improvement in emotional intelligence. Mean difference (Pre - Post) is -3.46 & 95% confidence interval: Ranges from -4.10 to -2.81. It means one can be 95% confident that the true mean difference lies within this interval. the low P value (p < 0.0001) and the large t-statistic:10.6078. Conclusion & Findings: Practicing Yogasana and Pranayama has been shown to enhance Emotional Intelligence, which in turn improves interpersonal relationships both personally and professionally. For a yoga trainer, heightened Emotional Intelligence brings several advantages, such as better understanding nonverbal cues from participants, adjusting behavior to meet their needs, making sound decisions, and fostering respect and affection from students.

Controversy and Interpretation of Quotes from the Bhagavad Gita Surrounding the Movie Oppenheimer

The purpose of this paper is to critically analyze the Hindu scripture Bhagavad Gita during the Trinity nuclear test by Oppenheimer, the main character of the movie Oppenheimer, released in 2023. The phrase he quotes is “Now I am become Death, the Destroyer of Worlds”. The phrase from Gita quoted by Oppenheimer in the film, along with the image of the provocative flash of a nuclear bomb and a mushroom cloud, contribute greatly to the visualization of the apocalypse of the end of the world. Quotes from Gita that we encountered through Oppenheimer’s documentaries, interviews, and autobiography are reproduced through movies, and children are learning these sentences at school. This article analyzes the phrases in Oppenheimer’s Gita and the possibility of mistranslation, and interprets various criticisms from mythologists, religious scholars, and philosophers surrounding the quote from various angles. This study analyzes cultural debates about symbolic and suggestive Hindu short verses and presents the theoretical basis for the true meaning and issues in religious philosophy. Through Oppenheimer’s film, the Gita has once again become a symbolic scripture representing Hinduism, and the passages he said are being reproduced as quotations representing the Gita. At this point, we discussed the issues of debate and criticism by modern scholars surrounding the passages.

“Perempuan Asing” Dalam Amsal 2:16, 5:20, 6:24, 7:5 Dan 23:27

This phrase "strange woman" appears several times in the Book of Proverbs and is problematic. Some translate it as a seductress, a bitch, a woman who has an affair, and as a wicked woman. Interestingly, all these interpretations of the phrase have negative connotations in the context. If so, why is this phrase always associated with negativity? What is the true meaning of this phrase? There seems to be a research gap in discussing this phrase, which is the main reason for the author to provide a specific and comprehensive interpretation of the phrase "foreign woman" and its implications for women today. Based on the qualitative method with sub interpretative design, especially wisdom literature hermeneutics, this study found that, there are five important meanings that explain the phrase "strange woman," namely, a woman who is unfaithful to the covenant with God, a woman who does not honor marriage, a harlot, a seductress, and a wicked woman. The implication of this study is a reference and warning for women to build the right character and become wise women so that they can be exemplary as good mothers and wives.

A Comparative Study of the Existential Resistance Consciousness of Camus and Shi Tiesheng

Albert Camus, the founder of "Absurdist Philosophy," portrays the absurdity and alienation of individuals in a strange world in his works. He opposes the ideology of submission, celebrates the spirit of resistance in adversity, and explores the true meaning of life. Shi Tiesheng, a renowned contemporary Chinese writer, questions the meaning of existence in the face of illness and hardship, reaching remarkable heights through imagination and speculation. Although there is ample research on both writers individually, there is a lack of comparative studies in literature and philosophy. This paper integrates relevant theories and recent research findings to conduct an in-depth study of the works and philosophical outlooks of Camus and Shi Tiesheng regarding existential dilemmas, religious choices, and collective resistance consciousness, exploring their explorations in resistance consciousness and existential challenges. Additionally, this paper explores the perspectives of Camus and Shi Tiesheng on the collective fate of humanity, discussing the insights brought about by people's reflections on modes of existence due to the global pandemic in 2019. This study broadens the research scope, deepening the understanding of these two writers, particularly regarding their existential resistance consciousness, which is inspiring for individuals to find meaning in adversity.

Прагматический потенциал прозвищ в произведениях Юй Хуа

This article is aimed at identifying a complex of pragmatic, emotional and value meanings of nicknames that allow the writer to influence the reader. The study is based on three novels by Yu Hua – Brothers, To Live, and Chronicle of a Blood Merchant – and their Russian translations. Twenty-five fragments were analysed; the specificity of the main characters’ nicknames was identified in terms of the pragmatic function they perform. It is shown that the process of integration ↔ separation and extraction ↔ filling (the rules of language unit use are being constantly updated and changed) of unique linguistic phenomena – nicknames – is inherently pragmatic. The article presents the author’s concept of nicknames, demonstrates the difference between nicknames and common names (social, family-related) and emphasizes the practical importance of nicknames (distribution, communication, symbolic figure, cultural characteristics) in prose. The novelty of the study lies in describing the pragmatic functionality of nicknames in different contextual environments, which reveals the degree of productivity and creative potential of nicknames, highlights the close relationship of nicknames with the characteristics of the time period and heritage of traditional culture, as well as points out the role of nicknames (as cultural symbols) in achieving balance in group communication. As a result, the author identified the specificity of the origin of nicknames and the potential variability of their evaluation, which causes differences in the understanding of their true meaning. Therefore, studying the intrinsic functionality of nicknames as a vastly preferable and popular form of naming in literary works, public life and other spheres of society is essential.
